I’ve always liked Tony Britten but had no idea what a wonderful reader he was.

Stumbled upon this book quite by chance, positively grand I say with no begodd nonsense about it.

TH-cam has 2 different versions.The earliest 1939 was directed by Alfred Hitchcock with Charles Laughton and Maureen O'Hara. The later was made in 1983 with Jane Seymour and a very capable cast. This edition follows the plot almost word for word.

Goodness how I enjoyed this classic tale. As good as Hardy on any given day and easier listening if truth be told...and who better than Tony Britten, such a consummate vocal artist. Many thanks, yet again.

It's a great novel. It's a shame it isn't as well known as the other Brontë sisters books like Wuthering Heights and Jane Eyre, it deserves more praise. Thank you for uploading.
