Urban Homesteading Channel
United States
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 15 มี.ค. 2014
My name is Bev and this is my little farm in an urban community. Here is some of my story that led me to creating this channel. In March 2019 I asked my husband, Mark to till me a garden. So he dug me a 20x10' garden space. Then in June some friends asked me to care for their chickens as they no longer were able. I said sure! And the saga continues. My grandchildren are involved, my husband is involved and I am having the time of my life. The purpose of this channel is to share my journey as I learn and grow and in turn maybe be able to teach others along the way. I will share my chickens, my garden, my grandchildren and even some cooking and canning tips. So come along with me as I share my urban homestead. My husband, Mark also has a TH-cam Channel! Be sure to check out the Viral Workaholic! Be sure to subscribe and hit that like button! Also don't forget to turn on that notification bell so you never miss a video!

I am a Martha.
Jesus is welcome anytime he wants to come to my house open invitation always, reason I say that because this house belongs to Jesus and so do I, Jesus was born in a barn I don't think he cares what your house looks like, he only cares what your heart looks like, I am not saying don't keep your house looking nice that's a given anytime, but you must remember it's you going to heaven not your house.
I think that Jesus would be more pleased with a happy house instead of an immaculate house.
I see the metaphor. Our minds become so cluttered by missed placed priorities. We must declutter minds to make time to open our selves to the Lord.
Well said ❤
Trudy Jones this is for you ❤
Is it ready to go or do u add water to make a glass
It's ready to go! My hubs loves the convenience especially when we travel.
Such a blessing God is good 💯
The garden is looking great Bev 😀. So many tomatoes! I am jealous. None of ours have ripened yet. Romas are perfect for Charred salsa 😉

I love TEMU! They’re no Amazon but they’re cheap and fun
I agree 💯%. It's like finding a hidden gem 😄
Cool
Watched this video didn’t hear amounts of cranberries and mandarin oranges used can u give me these amiunts
There were no specific amounts. I just added a handful. I love cranberries so I used a lot. Others might not like them as well and wouldn't use as much. It's up to your discretion how much you use of any ingredient. Thanks for stopping by the homestead 😄
Yours is pressure canned; so I followed your directions. However what pressure do you set it on?
It depends on your elevation. You'll have to read your manual to find your proper pressure and times.
***BE SURE TO LET FERMENT IN A COOL DRY PLACE IN AN AIR TIGHT CONTAINER. LET SET 2-4 WEEKS THEN DRAIN AND STORE IN A CLOSED GLASS BOTTLE OR JAR. 1-2 TABLESPOON DAILY FOR PREVENTATIVE EFFECTS.***
I like the blue accent lights
Me too. Good job Viral Workaholic
Can't wait to taste
Sorry honey. You have to wait at least 2 weeks 😊
Very cool!
Welcome home Lucy 😊
Sh says thank you Uncle Chester 😁
Exciting. It is so great when kids have an interest in the animals. Hopefully the integration goes well
Thank you! It should be ok. They spent several weeks together so hopefully instinct helps. Btw I'm loving your new channels 💚
Raven and Lucy were joining me in the kitchen today ❤ They said hello and thank you for stopping by the homestead 💚
Working smarter than harder
Exactly! I learned from the best 😉
How much pressure to you can it with?
So it's been 3 years since the first post. How is the process going for you?
Thanks for stopping by the homestead! It's doing well. I keep several pints on hand during the winter. Our water lines tend to burst all over the neighborhood so this way hubs is never without tea during repairs. I also keep several quarts of water on hand. I simply water bath those. I know people say you can water bath the tea. I personally don't trust the process but you do what you feel you can trust. Do your research then decide. Thank you for your question. I love getting feedback 💚
I'm in Western PA United States so for my elevation I pressure at 15 lbs. Hope this helps 💚
I'm in TN. What pressure you recommend?
I thinking about doing mine in quarts.
Where exactly in TN? I'll do some research for you. You can email me at bevhitchcock89@gmail.com if you prefer to not give out personal information. Or you can reach me through private Messenger on Facebook.
Wow, that is a neat idea for garden beds! The tomatoes, beets and peppers looked like they were doing well.😊
Thanks for stopping by the homestead 💚. The garden definitely was a challenge this year but we had so much fun 😊

Thank you so much for stopping by the homestead! I'm glad you enjoyed this recipe 💚
Oh No.. I have dropped a fertile egg before too. 💔
Thank you for stopping by the homestead 💚.
What a great space. Love the look of the quilt hidden behind the flannel one. Jealous of all your sewing machine stash. Love the pansy fabric! I will pay shipping lol. Seeing your quiltingvframe makes me want to get mine out and do some hand quilting. Need to get some space sorted here too. Wow what a difference in the boys room. Very motivational, you have done so much. Well done. Love the quilt on your bed, gorgeous.
Thank you! Hope you're having a great evening 💚
This is a top down representation of FEDEX. Management sets the attitude of priority for safety vs production. UPS drivers are just as bad. I have reported both for flying through my place of business and my community. A life lost is a bell that can't be un-rang.
