Our IPP sows are set to farrow in the next month and we decided that it was time to set a stall for them. This will make it so much easier for us! Dolly and Reba will have an area to create their next along with a full paddock. Exciting things are happening!

Welcome and we are so glad you are here! The Demiters are a family of 6 living in the foothills of the beautiful Cascade Mountains in Washington state. Farm life is newish to our family and we have relied on the knowledge of others to help us along the way. Through trial and error we have found what works for us and may be helpful to others. We love the life that we have created for our family and the strength that comes from working together. We have the opportunity to teach our children so many amazing things that they would never learn in a conventional school setting. Our experiences in growing our own food, through gardening and raising animals, hasn’t been without obstacles but we are growing each step of the way. During our days of school at home we spend time utilizing a beautiful structured curriculum but there are always knowledge woven in that is invaluable to their growth mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually. Our days are filled with frustration, tears, excitement and laughter. We never know what the day will hold. There is always something new to learn, a challenge to face or success to celebrate when you are new to the farm life! We will be talking about organic gardening, food preparation, animal husbandry, chickens, ducks, Scottish Highland Cattle, milking cows, Idaho Pasture Pigs, Red Ranger Chickens, German Wirehaired Pointers, homeschool, kids, faith, family values, land preservation, farm infrastructure, home renovation and everything in between.
