Kayaking Gorges du Verdon
Staying in Moustiers Sainte-Marie so had to kayak the gorge. So beautiful, especially in the morning before the crowds. Perfect weather in September. Followed the 4.5 mile kayak with a swim in Lac de Sante-Croix.

Not much filmed on day 2 as we were working hard just to finish strong. Plenty of ups and downs on this trip but the scenery is epic.

Camped at the dunes and started hiking at 5:30am for sunrise. Amazing! The sand was nice and firm because of the recent rain.
The White Rim in a Day
มุมมอง 502 ปีที่แล้ว
Moab, Utah! Started from Horsetheif Campground at 5:30am on April 20th. It was cold for the first 15 miles (like, really cold) then got up to 73-degrees. Overall a great, tough day. For some reason the end of the video gets cut, but this was 102-miles and 6,800 feet of climbing. Counter-clockwise, ending with Shafer Trail. It took me 10-hours.
Monarch Mountain Closing Day

Went for one more sunrise skin up at Monarch Mountain for closing day. Eerily empty, snowy, and beautiful!

So cool! I am planning on doing this in the fall❤. Keep it up💪🏽
I see that the Estes Park Bustang route is not an option in October. Do you know of any other public transit options that could be used to get from boulder to Estes Park (or nearby) with a bicycle in early October?
Nice video. What month did you do this? I want to ride with my son in August either from Rollinsville to Winter Park (wife pick drop off and pick up in Winter Park) or have her drive us to Winter Park and ride over and then down through Rollinsville and take 72 home. Although Rollinsville to Winter Park may be better as you have to deal with a lot of day pickup traffic from Winter Park to Rollins Pass. I'd rather be riding down from Rollins Pass to Winter Park maintaining faster speeds downhill. I guess we could take the train home from Winter Park, too.
Hey dude, great riding video!
Cool!! Great ride thanks for sharing!!
Congrats. Are there any spots to fill water bottles at or after the visitor center?
No, nothing at all after the visitor center. And nothing at the top.
Micah Ling Oct, 20. 2022. Hi Micah! Great ride, I'm envious. Would love to try it, but not ready yet. I road my Harley up Trail Ridge to the visitor center yesterday. Was really cold and windy. Quite the scary ride down, even on a motorcycle. Met a guy at the top who rode his gravel bike up Trail Ridge, but decided to head back down the Old Fall River Road. It's blocked off to motor vehicles now, and is also two-way. Great video and courageous ride!! Thanks for the motivation, I'll need it!!! 😁
I stumble on to your videos. You are awesome.
Way to go! Today all I did was drive up Monarch Pass. :o)
super cool
awesome
Would you douchebags stop coming here.
Great video Hats off
Hi Micah, wonderful video and congratulations on completing the climb to the summit. Your video captured my experience exactly. I rode the same route a week ago with a friend. I said the same thing you did at the finish...I was relieved to finally get back to pavement after the gravel and then I suddenly realized that it only got harder--much harder. The slippery, soft gravel up incredibly steep sections seemed easier than the pavement to the summit. And, for anyone who doubts it, the final 14 miles does indeed rise up over 7100 ft of vertical to a stunning 13,800 ft. There is very little O2 up there! Thanks for the wonderful video. I will show others to try to convey what the experience was really like. One final thing for viewers, the camera always flattens the grade of the road. So if it looks steep on video, it is much steeper in real life. Be well--John Vogel
Congrats to you! It was almost a year ago that I did it and I'm just now feeling like I could maybe do it again. Quite an adventure!
Great video. Quite an accomplishment. I’d love to do it. I have an E-MTB and a regular MTB. But being on the old side, I’d probably have to cheat with the ebike. BTW, how did you mount the GoPro so you could rotate it while riding?
I was just holding it, with the GoPro Handler Floating Hand Grip. Not the safest option but I've gotten pretty good at riding and filming.
great video i love supporting small youtubers like me its still dreadful and snowy in mn im so jealous
Nice vid 👍👍👍
Micah, I'm considering getting into skiing, but don't have any interest in downhill, and was looking for safe ways to use an AT set up as a newbie. I was curious if Monarch allowed skinning, and you are the first video! Looks fun : )
Nice! I love uphill at Monarch because it's safe and if you go outside of operating hours it's totally empty. They have a great route setup that's about 2 miles up and 1 mile down. I love doing a lap or two at dawn. Highly recommend. And if you have no interest in ever riding a lift, you can get an uphill annual pass for like $40.
Wow! Did you bike back down too?
No, I had someone meet me at the top with a Jeep and drove down.
Nice, Micah. I hiked up the backside (sheep gulch) of Hope Pass on Tuesday. Lucky with the weather and wind being very agreeable. Only windy at the prayer flags. I'll do the Willis Gulch trail next time I get a few days to get out there. I camped dispersed off of 390 the night before to try to acclimate a little to the altitude... Love your vids, btw.
Nice! I've done this trail several times since this video! Once I went up and down both sides. Glad to know it's still clear...might have to go up again...
I did that same ride a long time ago... 1980's? I had no idea what I was doing, but brought along a 1-person tent/hammock sort of thing & a sleeping bag. Slept at treeline above Yankee Doodle Lake, & then rode into Winter Park the next day for the train ride home. The needle's eye tunnel was open then (I gather it's not open now, judging by the hiking part you had to do). I don't know if I was really supposed to camp where I did, but it was fun... & cold! I'm glad to see that at least the trestles are still intact enough to ride over. Great ride, & a really very nice video about the adventure. I wish I had documented my trip, but all we had back then were, you know... FILM cameras! In fact, my camera got bounced around so much in my bike bags that it was non-functional by the end of the trip! LOL
That's great! Yeah, the tunnel is closed now -- you can't even get to it. Have to hike over. But the trestles are really cool.
Great video. I hope to so this in late Sept when Im out there for most of a week. I have been researching things to do on a bike and it seems like the best option. Are storms a concern (lightning)? Do you have any recommendations for clothing besides a few layers? Do I need something specifically windproof or anything? Thanks!
Check the weather a ton. You can check the weather at the Alpine Visitor's Center at the top -- that will give you an idea of how cold it will get. It tends to be cold and windy at the top. I've ridden it in 40mph wind and that is NOT FUN. I highly recommend starting early. Storms roll in after noon. (Plan to be done by noon). I've done this ride tons of times and it is absolutely beautiful. But also, the weather can be totally nuts at the top even when it's lovely at the bottom. Start early, bring good gloves and a good rain jacket. Enjoy!
Nice work! Someone recently recommended hiking Ice Mountain and the Three Apostles nearby.
I definitely want to go back and do Lake Ann and the Apostles.
nice hike!
Is this trip better on a CX bike over a Mtn bike ?
Couldn't believe there wasn't much traffic. Did you do this on your mountain (HT or FS) or CX bike ? Did you have to reserve a spot to get into the park or did you start outside the park and just ride/bypass the gate in ?
If you bike in, you don't have to make a reservation. The absolute best way to do it is park at the Fall River Visitor Center at like 6am. Start at sunrise, go up Old Fall River and down Trail Ridge (obviously). You'll have the place to yourself. I started at Old Fall River once at 4am and got to the summit right at sunrise. Better than drugs. Definitely take a gravel bike, not a MTB. There's nothing difficult at all, it's just steep and sandy/gravel.
You Slept in today Heee Glad you are doing these Good puppy
This trailhead just took a while to drive to!
Lovely pristine views, and the Income generating fields, wow! 😂 100% on the totally sublime Moots Routt RSL. Since you’re an influencer, thought maybe sometime speak about your preferred kits, tires, sizes and wheels, etc. Ride safe, ride often. Peace.
I mentioned my wheels and tires in this video. I only wear Velocio clothing.
100%! Great job on that sweet Moots Routt RSL!
Absolutely awesome! Way to go! Inspire!
Awesome! Beautiful views! This is why we ride. The bike is sublime isn’t it? What year? I have this same bike in Root Beer ano graphics and Bourbon CK hubs in Enve G23 and 3.4 AR, Red AXS road group. For me, it serves as the Swiss Army knife of bikes for the road, gravel, bike paths, commuter, etc. Great job out there! Woo hoo! Ride safe and ride often. Peace.
Yeah, I ride mine on everything. Got it exactly 2 years ago and have about 15,000 miles on it.
It's on my list now, Thank's
Loved it! Summit!!
Wow! Great view. Love seeing you do these hikes and rides.
Thanks, Fred!
Great video Micah! Looks like a perfect day.
Bought a rafting trip that takes me through the area in a couple of weeks!!
Nice! You will see zero snow, haha.
❤️🤗 love the video 🤗❤️
awesome ride! bike moots routt rsl
You amaze me! 💥😘
Great video really captures the challenge well - welcome to the MK club - you are a member for life!
That’s incredible....thanks for sharing!!
Awesome!
Whoa! That's an insane number of steps!
Just FYI, there was an older man there (60s? 70s?) who had started at 4:30am and was on his 3rd (and final) lap for the day. And he was moving faster than me. So, I have some work to do.
Greatness!
Haha, it's weed. Nice.
Thanks for posting! Mineral Belt Trail is always on my must do list for my yearly 10 day August visit! Now I'm thinking a winter trip for a few days sounds good!
Yeah, Leadville in the winter is pretty great!
Great video...beautiful view!!
Sweet views! Looks totally amazing!
64 miles and 5500’ of climbing....hard to believe you’re “a huge wimp when it comes to descending steep gravel”...it seems you are anything but wimpy!! Ha!
Ha, thanks! ...I definitely descend carefully. :)
Wow! Awesome scenery, fantastic weather, Great ride!
