@@HomeChef-0007 Thank you so much!
Can you do this in the oven if you don’t have a dehydrator ?
@@rachelwanjiru4261 Absolutely! Spread the wet basil salt onto a tray, put it in the oven at 220°F for 15 minutes, take it out and stir it, then put it back in for 15 minutes.
How many basil plants did it take to get that much!!! Is it just one kind of basil?
@KerrieImlay I have 4 huge containers of basil. I'm growing regular basil, emerald towers, and lettuce leaf varieties. :)
How long do you leave it in the frig?It looks tasty!I'm gonna make spicy sweet Asian cuke slices with baby cukes I got at local farm stand.
@@hattiem.7966 I like to leave them overnight for a better flavor.
I want your Betty Crocker cookbook! What growing zone are you in? I wonder if I can grow them, I'm in zone 5b. Would be good emergency pain reliever for mouth.
@@rayasingleton2671 Thank you! I found it at a thrift store for only $1! I'm in zone 6b, so you could totally grow them. I started them in the winter and transplanted them in the spring. They're FINALLY producing, so just know they can take a long time.
Flora, Fun, & Food, awesome video!
@@IOSALive Thank you!
Thank you for this video, it was really helpful. I was also looking for a way to make horseradish pickles, and was looking at the same two recipes, then searched YT. I am particularly glad you added a second cup of vinegar, as the one recipe was for refrigerator pickles, and I was worried about lack of acidity for canning. I think I will swap out the prepared mustard and horseradish for seeds and grated horseradish, so it does not look cloudy, but otherwise I plan to copy you (except for the boiling - I think low-temp pasteurization makes them crunchier). Thanks!!
@@andrewkowalewski7380 I'm so glad it was helpful! I love crunchy pickles, so I'll have to try that instead!
Thank you for the video. I love cucumbers. As an fyi, you really need to use a MUCH bigger cutting board and stabilize it so it doesn’t move all around. I was cringing when you were trying to cut the cucumber and almost turned off the video. Good luck with your channel.
@bmb302 Thanks for watching! I have a larger cutting board, but I was being lazy. Haha. I promise I'll use it next time. 😀
Can’t lie, that looks delicious right now 💯🤤 lol… Good shit, keep it up 💪🏾🦾.
@dariuslane6226 Thanks for watching! It was sooo good. Even my picky husband liked it. Lol
@@florafunandfood No problem 👍🏾…. Hilarious 😂, I bet he did. Definitely a good idea, I give it to you💯
What kind of soil do you use? Did you make your own and just add compost every new season?
@KerrieImlay I bought raised garden bed soil mix from a local bulk soil company, then I top it with compost each year.
Nice salad . Love blue cheese , feta . Enjoyed your tips as well .
@@ginabarbee1404 Glad you enjoyed it! Let me know if you try it and how it was.

Is the yolk in those eggs still runny when you're building those sammiches, or do the eggs cook all the way through like that?
@justinh1601 They cook all the way. The consistency is like if they were cooked over-hard.
cool, thanks for the recipe. I bet eat the left over leaves is a good idea too. If you wash them and roast them for few minutes. Also good use of transition in your video.
@QueenVenka Thank you so much! ❤️ Roasted Brussels sprouts leaves would be delicious!
Love your garden! I have an all container garden as well except for my zucchini. Fell in love with this maybe 4 years ago and it's just so fun. I just harvested a bunch of snow peas, some cucumbers, and some Cubano peppers. Also have jalapenos and Thai chilies growing. And lots of lettuce and kale! I have a tiny little watermelon growing and a little cantaloupe too. They're so adorable.😊
Love your amazing container garden 🙌🙌

Great combos that I haven't thought of. I'm going to try some!
@GrandmaKarenHasAFarm Let me know what you think!
Interesting recipe, thanks for sharing. You can actually make all kinds of chutneys and soups in a slow cooker, no need to heat up the kitchen in summer. I use the hand blender in my slow cooker at the end of the cooking period and viola!

Way cool idea! Crafting with mom is great too.
Definitely use high-temp hot glue or E6000 glue. They melted in this summer heat, and I had to re-do them. My grandma and I had fun making them, though!

i live in zone 6b too..where are you ? our weather has been so strange that my plants are not doing very well...we live in the high desert of central oregon
I live in Missouri, near Kansas City. Our weather has not been kind, and some of my stuff is definitely struggling.
So where did you get your containers? Were they expensive?
I got them from a local farmer that I found on Facebook Marketplace for $5 a piece. (They're mineral feed tubs.)
Yes! I saw someone had used them like that. Actually i think it was living traditions homestead! I couldn't find them but need to look again! Thanks so much!
@@crissengels8930 Of course! Just keep an eye out. I see them pop up on Marketplace pretty often in my area, but I'm close to quite a few rural towns.
Thanks again! I will!
What state are you in /zone - I tried to save my pepper plants over winter but didn’t work ?
I'm in Missouri, zone 6b. I cut them way down, repotted them, kept them indoors, watered them occasionally, and removed any leaves all winter. Then, I hardened them off before planting them back in the garden.

@@florafunandfoodI think I'm in the same garden zone as you ( Chicago). I'm hoping to try and over winter all my tomatoes ,peppers ( sweet & hot) and anything else I can. Get a jump start for 2025.😊
@@lovelyamerah it definitely helped! The ones I overwintered are already producing peppers, but the ones I started from seed are STRUGGLING to catch up.
@@florafunandfood My seedlings 🌱 are also still growing and I'll be lucky if I get a good harvest before my first frost. I definitely will try to over winter my plants for next season 😁
We need to ask Dreo to do something about the chicken skin gets so burned. It's an issue with their settings.
I agree. I've done it a couple of times now, and it always burns.
@@florafunandfood Me, too. I sent in a feedback request on it after it happened again tonight. I'm hoping that if enough people write-in about it, they will adjust the program settings.
@@wesotl1026 I'll write one, too!
@@florafunandfood Thought I would circle back and let you know I made another chicken for dinner tonight. This time, I put it breast side down for approximately half of the cooking time. Halfway through I flipped it breast side up, and it came out perfectly, crisp brown skin but not burned at all.
@@wesotl1026 Great idea! I'll definitely start doing that from now on. Thank you for sharing!!
For YEARS I eat the radish leaves just like salad greens
That's a great idea! Thank you. :)
I never would have guessed how stunning ferns would look combined like this! Thank you for the idea!😊
Thank you! I love how it turned out!
Very helpful video!
Thanks! Glad you liked it!
This is so cool. They look great. My parents buy the regular fern each summer. I didn’t know they came in a variety.
There are tons of different varieties, and they're so cool!
I was/am late planting too. I usually start seeds indoors, and this year I just didn't get to it. Lazy/unmotivated/personal issues, haha. I'm zone 5b and I'm doing ok now. The way I see it, and I comfort myself with this, SOMETHING will grow. It's inevitable. My potatoes I just planted last week are already sprouting above the soil. I should have planted those a month ago! But it's alright.
Thank you for saying that! Like you said, something will grow! I was super on top of things getting seeds started indoors, then life happened and I didn't get them outside when I should have. Fingers crossed!
Where are brass planters from?
I got them from Old Time Pottery. They were more silver when I bought them, but they've changed color a bit over the years.
Now I want a grilled cheese!
It's so quick and easy! It's my new go-to lunch for summer.
That looks good. I think my husband would really like it with the hot honey
It's so good with it!
That looks super simple...AND tasty!
It is! :)
Oh my gosh, that looks like fun!
I love making them! I used to have my 4th grade students make one each year, too. They loved it.

That's kinda funny. I wasn't sure what to make for dinner and decided to do hamburgers. I come in to look at youtube for a bit, and here your video popped up!
Perfect timing! We had some ground beef about to turn, so I had him cook while I mowed. Easy Sunday!
Looks yummy. What do you like to serve with them? I was thinking it might make a good meatball sub. Or with rice maybe?
I honestly ate them by themselves as a kind of pot luck appetizer, but my husband said they were great on rice. I think a BBQ meatball sandwich sounds delicious!
