Checking Out the New(ish) Genoa Bridge
I travelled from Milan to Genoa to take a look around the city, with the goal of reaching the Genoa-Saint George Bridge, which was opened on 4th August 2020 at a cost of €202 million. This bridge succeeded the Morandi Bridge, which tragically collapsed two years earlier on 14th August 2018, killing 43 people and injuring a further 16.
The original bridge - also known as the Polcevera Viaduct, due to it having crossed the Polcevera River - had been opened on 4th September 1967, following a construction process that began in 1963. Named after the architect, Riccardo Morandi, the old bridge was fully demolished on 28th June 2019 after remaining in a damaged and unusable condition since the collapse during August of the year prior.
Genoa-Saint George Bridge - a motorway viaduct designed by architect Renzo Piano - has a length of 1,067 metres (3,501 feet) and a width of 30.8 metres (101 feet), providing two lanes (plus one emergency lane) for each direction of traffic flow. It was constructed by Fincantieri - an Italian shipbuilding company (the largest in Europe) - and Webuild, an Italian industrial group specialised in the industries of civil engineering and construction.

Exploring Podgórze, Kraków
มุมมอง 143ปีที่แล้ว
I crossed the Vistula River and ventured into the southern Kraków district of Podgórze, which led me to a very large neo-Gothic church, a noisy highway overpass and the almighty Krakus Mound. Along the way I eyed up a nice residential area (or two) and marvelled at some religious sculptures. 0:00 - Crossing the Vistula River 1:35 - St Joseph's Church 3:46 - Residential Area 5:27 - Highway Overp...
Abandoned Dockland + WW2 Pillbox
มุมมอง 111ปีที่แล้ว
I ventured through Eastham Oil Terminal and into an overgrown former industrial estate and dock area sitting alongside the Manchester Ship Canal. My adventure led me to an abandoned crane berth, two burned-out vehicles and a possibly undocumented World War 2 pillbox. Plus, I got to see a boat going about its business. 00:00 - Intro 00:31 - Eastham Oil Terminal 01:38 - Hooton Bio Power 01:51 - A...

Reminds me of Didcot A
Ben
Ay he’s my new mascot
I'm one of the volunteers at Plas Teg, I was watching you on our remote CCTV cameras which why I activated the light as didnt want you to startle Cornelia who was working just around the corner. My self or one of the other volunteers have stayed with her since so there is always security on site.
Thanks for letting me know. I feel so silly now, and will think twice before doing anything like that again. I haven't made a video in almost a year, and have no intention of ever creating a situation like that again at Plas Teg. Please accept my sincere apology for that event.
Additionally, I've pinned your comment in the hope that it dissuades others from following in my footsteps.
@@bengoes certainly dont feel silly and dont let it stop you from making vidoes, there are many places which you wont need to put your self in the same situation to create some great content, most importantly thank you for pinning the post and the apology, enjoy getting out in the great outdoors and enjoy the video making. 👍🏻
@@MarcioAussie1 thank you very much, it means a lot
@@bengoes you're welcome. Also in your video you came across the square walled area above the house, that is the original walled kitchen garden from the house was first built.
It doesn't look like that now.
Indeed 😥
There is no fiddlers ferry😠 there lying in th middle dead
Awwww yes 😭
That railway line used to supply the power station with its coal, initially from Bold colliery, then from Liverpool docks when it switched to imported coal. There used to be 3 trains an hour at its peak. Mainly unused these days, there are plans to use it as a new line from Liverpool, through Bank Quay station and on the Manchester airport, avoiding going into central Manchester.
That's interesting! Thanks for the info 🔥
😢❤ Love Cornelia 💗 😊❤ Love Plas Teg in 🏴Wales in UK 🇬🇧❤️
Show some respect. People died there and you’re playing this kind of music? Innocent blood shed for nothing.
It's not a real concentration camp 😂 it was for a movie, and literally nobody died there

@@bengoes sorry I assumed, I’ve just seen a lot of people doing bad stuff
Ohh no worries! I guess the video was a little misleading, so it's no problem. I'll make it more clear for future viewers by mentioning that it's not real
The walls were the walled kitchen garden for the house
That's interesting, thanks for the info!
❤❤❤❤
Great tune
🤘
OMG I missed this video when it came out. Only just watching it after seeing your new italy video :0
It took time to come, but it was a really nice show of how Genoa changed after the tragedy. Nice video.
Thank you. Yes, very true 🙏
Another great video, I can already tell
Thank you! ❤️
Well done mate really good to see the old power station it's a real shame they decommissioned it they should have open days until its ready to be knocked down
Thanks!! I agree with you there, I bet loads of people would love to see it up close
my dog is like that to he’s beautiful
Might be a sulker...but he's gorgeous 🥰🥰🥰
He's very grateful 🙏❤️
'Promosm' 😎
From beautiful views of the downtown to a view from above. It's surely a nice contrast and a great city to enjoy. Thanks for the video!
Many thanks! Glad you liked it.
Ayyyyy you went!
Against the advice of just about everyone 🤣
As mentioned in the description, in this video I explore the grounds and exterior of this 500-year-old building. Due to it being owned by a private individual - and subject to ongoing renovation - it is currently impossible for me to enter the property without breaking the law (or if a door or window happened to be open/unlocked, just incredibly disrespectful, potentially dangerous and simply out of character for me). I make these videos because I want to share with you the places I find interesting, not because I want to carry out sinister and unwarranted home invasions. Henceforth, I did not enter Plas Teg, instead getting a plethora of footage of its exterior and the surrounding buildings.
I'm just not cheeky enough to do that 🤣 yet
I've marked this video for remastering: it will be trimmed, enhanced, improved and reuploaded in the next 48 hours due to my concerns regarding the quality of the video. However, I will keep it Private so anyone who wishes to view the original can have it shared to them directly.
Full 4k video out soon! Don't forget to subscribe if you want to see high quality footage of my (often crazy) expeditions!
they really named the Plaza after Ronald Reagan? yikes... but nonetheless, the city looks pretty, the buildings seem well-kept
I was thinking that too! 😂 Agreed!
One of the reasons Cyclists come down that lane is because it’s the route of the Trans Pennine Cycle Trail. The M1 of long distance cycle routes.
Ahh thanks for the info! I don't know the area too well
Due to some valued constructive criticism that I received, I should note that information about Liban Quarry is readily available online, and you should definitely look into it if you enjoy this video, as it's an eerie yet thoroughly interesting place. As I was struggling to get a signal on my phone, this information was difficult for me to come by at the time of filming.
From the title I actually thought this was a holocaust denial video! What I actually found was a well shot and interesting video. I’d sub but does anyone mind unsubbing first so the count can stay at 69?
Wow, thank you for the kind words. ❤️ I'm absolutely not a holocaust denier, so I'll have to think about renaming the video to make the title less misleading! 69 subscribers is a great number, but the more the merrier, so feel free to ruin the 69 accolade 😂
Interesting!
