Is there a way for a jackshaft operator to work on this?

I just installed a set of Super Sneaky hinges on my garage door. They saved me from having to install a top section rail. My garage headroom is only 4 inches. The cost $62 $80 with shipping but they saved the day.

does this work with a 8ft door?

if you have a vertical rail set up for a 10" x 8" i have SS hinges. the vertical tracks are to tall to line the radius up and put the drums above the door. Can the vertical tracks be cut down the 1.5' - 2' that is needed to accept the radius curve track?

The top section panel (with the Super Sneakys installed) now has the "downward" back pressure very much reduced from the opener. The opener "pressure" or force is now mostly horizontal, folding the hinge up to close the top section. There is a area where the opener may not sense an obstruction correctly. Because the opener needs to sense the vertical back pressure from an obstruction the safety aspect is contravened. Beware Americans. Blessings from New Zealand

Can you use these on a manual door operation how will the top stay tight to the jam

Any problems when you lift the door manually? After a power loss.

Really good insulation the only problem is you left the emergency release rope extremely long if I car vehicle or something big get snagged on it that’s going to mean that you’re going to have to come out over a pretty dumb mistake

We used to have to know the weight of the door, and then using the total weight, any amount of added vertical lift, then using a torsion spring gauge which, looked like a small metal ruler, with a lip to tuck into the spring stock we carried, we would select the right diameter, gauge, and measure the length needed...cut it with a torch, and put the proper right, or left hand ends on them. Spring balance is sooo important.

Having grown up in the overhead door business, my father invented more than 20 different parts for other companies, and only a few he developed under his own brands. He invented the O&E low headroom fixture, among others. Low headroom kits were such a pain before he designed his. Also called the ceiling 0-07. He passed away late 2019. I just saw your solution, it is absolutely brilliant... Ii also believe that my father Bruce Olson.... would feel the same way. Easily adapted to probably every sectional door. Ps) he is also responsible for the "electric eye" safety reverse system in use today. We designed the system for multi use parking structures. Too many doors were getting bumped from cars following each other in to or out of the structures. So we needed a contactless device. We had them in service for many years. Chuck Wilson from Ace in Portland called my father, and explained that thousands of children were injured or killed in the USA every year, and that the far western garage door assn is involved in creating a safer system and making it a requirement, without any hesitation at all he granted them permission as well as all the instructions, including the modifications I created on the circuit board of the product we were using. (I think this was a wonderful gift, and a great way to remember him) ps) I think you and he would have gotten along famously.

This is one of the videos I watched you guys are the first company to install the emergency release rope and handle correctly I don’t know why other companies do this but they always leave so much hanging extra left usually if you have leftover rope you cut it and burn the end but you guys did a good job

I can't see why you were told that Kevin, all it does is tip the top panel in to clear an obstruction. They also have a commercial version available now too that's heavier and wider than the standard one...

We certainly welcome a challenge so I would be happy to explain the difference between double track hardware and Super Sneaky hardware. Dan has a broader range of knowledge regarding sectional door hardware, as we specialize in low headroom and flush mount type door hardware. We are approved vendors for: Amarr, Entrematic, Over Head Door Corp. Wayne Dalton, Service Spring, Multi Sales, we tech support and provide consultation to many many well-established door installing companies ... in my opinion, Dan has more knowledge than any other installer I know. Dan illustrates for you, both front and rear mounted double track systems, the most common type on the market. The front mount torsion type with corresponding modification requires 9" of headroom space. That does not include the operator, typically requires another 2". Not also mentioned is that double track systems will position the door below the door opening, as much as 3" Doors with outside bottom brackets and cables ... it's self-evident why it does not comply with UL 325 Double track rear mounted systems as evidenced by Dan operating in 4" of headroom ... he had space in the middle, you would normally require addittional space for an operator, so you are up to 6", that does not include the door hanging below the opening, so really that system takes up to 9" of space. Super Sneaky low headroom garage door hardware will convert a single track 12 or 15" radius, standard lift, front mounted torsion spring and drawbar operator into a low headroom installation of 6" , including the operator, plus clear the door opening. How did you mount the track?? Almost looks like inside jamb mount track but your spacing on your track brackets would have to be far off the wall to accommodate for the extra cladding. Do you sell all fo the hardware to do this or only the top brackets??

Correct, the system only works with a trolly or drawbar type of operator

Very Nice!!! One question.... I noticed that the #3 hinge roller stem was not in the standard hole. Is that cause important for the functionality of the door?
