First time ok 😊
Welcome!!
Did Vanessa's baby burst into flames at his/her baptism? I think I heard that wrong.
😆
Eric, I'm quite pleased with myself.
That’s good, you should.
Kelly, thanks for taking the hit on DJ's Nosferatu. It was almost a rental for me.
"Time sucker punched us"...
I found _Anora_ more of a dramedy. Bummer ending though. I've only recently heard of the Doug Jones _Nosferatu:_ while awaiting the Robert Eggers version, I want to see Doug Jones as Orlock...
I would think he would be the best part.
😃
A cold opening :)
I was okay with _Agatha All Along,_ my always liking Katherine Hahn (and certainly Aubrey Plaza). _Is_ she a ghost at the end? I thought it was just her voice off screen...
Tony Todd played Worf's brother. Years ago I saw him at a local Ralphs (grocery store), but I did not bother him.
Oh, there it is... Got a li'l behind th' scenes they're...
Weird not to have the opening...
We get a lot of requests for what we talk about in breaks. Having a little fun.
😃
😃
😃
I've been playing several different ttrpgs for 45 years. Never gonna stop. it's also because of irresponsible parents. Film Threat is now a very good podcast on TH-cam. One of the two podcasts I watch.
That’s fantastic. I think a lot about diving back in but I haven’t, yet. -Eric
Gotta love when Toho remembers (to use) Godzilla's proper roar...
So nice
In the 1980s we had D&D sessions starting Friday evening and running almost the entire weekend...
I loved doing those weekends.
😃
The quality of the video graphics is on the rise. and at least 2 things I have to watch Sweet Home and All My Friends are Dead.
😃
Awesome Toho documentary; is there more to it...?
Some of it will appear in each TOHO episode; the whole show will be complete by the third episode.
Grrrrr! you're gonna make me watch "From" and I don't want to. Oh and don't miss "The Penguin".
You never know you might like it a bunch.
The vitriol on the _Joker_ sequel _is_ a bit over the top. Yes, it could have been better, and the ending is very "wt𝘍...?", but there are moments... and not just _my_ screen time... 😉
At least one good moment. Still need to see it.
@strangeaeonstv1 I'm in a few shots, hence "several "... 😉 I'm sitting in the Arkham lobby as Arthur is led in, in sitting behind them in the movie-showing, and I'm the first to turn and see the fire...
@@realbadger That's great!
😃
From whereabouts in New Jersey does he hale...? Northern, Central, or Southern? Back when my online radio show was still a thing, we had a guest who mentioned she was from New Jersey, so I asked whereabouts, and she said "a town no one's ever heard of: Mountain Lakes," to which I pointed out growing up in Pompton Plains (which literally is about two or three towns over).
That’s great!
𝙎𝙞𝙭𝙩𝙮...?!
😃
"It's very Canadian..." lol...
I've had _The Substance_ as something I "probably should see," but it's kind o' off to the side. I was going to see it last night but too many people had recommended _Wild Robot_ which I switched out for it, which was fine as _Wild Robot_ was incredible. Tomorrow night Friday I get to see if my name is in the end credits of a major motion picture in which I was upgraded (I'm visible in a couple of the trailers). I'd added myself to its imdb, as had several others but we've learned our names have been removed (while uncredited actors' names are still there). We're hoping production is going to "re"add us with clarified role descriptions.
I really like Katherine Hahn and Aubrey Plaza, and while I still need to see episode 4, so far I've been enjoying _Agatha All Along,_ and wonder what others (TH-cam reviewers) see it as gay and such. I'm seeing it as a comedy.
Long Beach California has the very actually haunted Queen Mary, btw....
😃
Don't be surprised when it arrives, I sent my "krats" to steal that Anno Carcosa comic.
Ever vigilant
Available to buy soon.
Watching the trailer for _Anchoress,_ I recognized Pete Postlethwaite immediately, but I was more, "wtf is that Christopher Eccleston...?" (so cool that got clarified so I didn't have to look it up). The stone cell reminded me of the final act of the weird Alan Arkin movie _The Magician of Lublin._
It’s an interesting but rough watch.
😃
I think I heard Eric say he’d never seen Sicario. Don’t let that one pass you by. It’s a masterpiece. The 21st centuries Heat.
He is an amazing director. Maybe I’ll make Denis Villeneuve my next Walter Hill.
Hey, movie posters! You should make it one of your next subject. Beautiful (older) movie posters because modern ones all suck.
I watched most of "From" season 1... it's another iteration of Lost. They won't get me a second time.
Fool me once…
😃
I first saw 𝘊𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘔𝘢𝘯 (𝘋𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘢𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘦 𝘋𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘢𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦) on cable so many years ago. Eventually I obtained its DVD. Predictably I loved the very dark humour, and understandably... I loved Anna Falchi. I was impressed with the filming of That Most Notable Scene, where behind her extend stone statue angel wings, as though they are sprouting from her own back. I love the general wtf'ness of the film, such as the mobile disembodied head, Falchi's sad and unnecessary fate, and the surreal closing shot of the film. (I'd later come across 𝘋𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘢𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘦 𝘋𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘢𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 costar François Hadji-Lazaro in 𝘉𝘳𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘩𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘞𝘰𝘭𝘧.)
Tough to have a Found Footage film of this sort with the obviously recognizable Ray Wise. Despite his excellent devil character in _Reaper,_ whenever I first see him, I think of him in _RoboCop..._
Reaper is one of the great underrated TV shows.
I'm rather sure such stop motion figures generally are called armatures...
Thanks!
tbh, I watch your podcast mostly for the shows/movies gazette. You always have some good stuff I haven't seen. For example, I watched Vourdalak (meh) and Oddity (not bad) last week.
Thanks for listening. Vourdalak is a movie that will divide viewers.
@@strangeaeonstv1 I understand what they were going for, but the puppet didn't work for me.
It’s so odd.
😃
The Vourdalak and Oddity, i'll give them a try.
Hope you like them both. 🙂
I was more of an HR Pufnstuf and _Land of the Lost_ watcher, though I _have_ always liked the Banana Splits silly but ear-worm catchy Tra-La-La theme song... Weird they'd have the Banana SpIits as automatons, when they were (clearly) costumed people.
In the movie, people are definitely in the costumes, but the story has them as malfunctioning robot types. It works as told, but possessed people or something like that could have been fun.
I very much prefer the original UK _Village of the Damned..._
Yes!
The Popcorn meter is to help suppress peoples' opinions, and safeguarding "from" bad reviews, such as terrible projects (a la Disney Marvel and "𝘚𝘵𝘢𝘳 𝘞𝘢𝘳𝘴" content)
