Cooper divided the Forest fan base in the end, but I think most underestimate him. Two seasons of players turning up 5 games into a premier season twice meant he had to sort out a team on the run. Difficult, he never had a pre season. And last season he lost Hudson Odoi and Awoniyi early leaving him with just 3 forwards. So most think he can only low block when he never had an outlet, Sangare failed to perform, and two very flawed goalkeepers, yet he played 4-3-3 in spite of it, having switched from 4-2-3-1 with the injuries, only going back to low block in those final games before the sack. Cooper given the right players will do well. He knows how to set up a defense, and does want to go forward when he can. He will commit to you. So give him a chance, and remember you may have to sell for PSR, and may get a points deduction which will handicap him. He won the Under 17 world cup. Took Swansea to the play offs with no money twice. Then at Forest took us up via the playoffs with trainees and loanees. So 40 players arrived (and still were 5 games in) and kept us up, and last season was constantly pushed back due to injuries to forwards. On top of that goalkeeping errors, and an inability to deal with dead balls and crosses, along with some awful refereeing decisions also contributed. I calculated that without goals conceded from player errors, he would have been in the top 4 when he was sacked. Even without adding any goals. If he has a fault he doesn't tend to give anyone who constantly screws up a second chance. So does tend to stick with the players who work, play and fight for him. That though may be in part due to the number of players thrown at him. But he might surprise you. Get behind him is my view, he's one of you from the moment he signs. I for one wish him, your team and fans well for the season. (except against us of course...and boy will he be wanting to win those two games). I will follow his career with interest. Hoping you, your friends, family, and all who drop by here, are, and remain well.
Thanks for the insight into Cooper appreciate itðĪ
@@TFWhistle_ You're welcome. Managers get a bad rep when results don't come, but managers don't play. Your squad is a unit, and only a few additions may arrive, so he'll have pre season, and then it's down to the players. Better circumstances than at Forest where desperation set in. Nuno barely did any better with Coopers players and he got the front line back, and two forwards and a goalkeeper, and Nuno is a decent manager!! If a points deduction cripples you give him leeway, and watch performances. Good luck to all. Be well.
Steve Cooper will have a bigger say in Transfers , more than he did at Forest

He is a Welshman, not from Nottinghamshire
Cooper was committed to the Leicester City job , potter was not totally committed he had to be persuaded to take the job. If you have to persuade someone to take a job , he his not the man for you.

Wise words from mr tanner however if your completely sold out n a project you grasp it with both hands potter is to undecided for me and will probably pull out hopefully I'm wrong regarding transfers surely no decisions can be made while we're managerless

I thought Souter was half decent when he played just didn't get much game time worth keeping I think what you think jack
Sputter might get a chance under new manager
Ii think moyles would be a good choice, potter 2nd for me
Leicester City have been very thorough in there search for Enzo Maresca replacement.
Would you take potter or if not who would you want as manager?
Fucking hell Leeds Leeds Leeds
Geoff here: whether our new manager is one with Premier League experience, or, a left field appointment, all if us fans need to give full support during what will a difficult season for us.
Carlos is the man but lets see how he goes next season without to much expectations. He will get us back up, lets just see it as a project with him!
Coopers ,no compensation that may decide it. i would only give him a short term contract and see how it goes. Who ever gave Vestagaurd a three year contract needs sacking we have to learn from the past ,this season we need loans and players wont demand huge wages ,and can adapt to the championship if we go down .
I think we are one the favourites to go down. Thats before a mention of points deduction
Fantastic mr legend and the goat all the best to mr Albrighton what a snip from villa this guy was kel time to move on thank you for everything vestergaard yes but not 3yrs for me and Dennis feel sorry for him he didn't get a full crack at the whip through certain circumstances but all we need now is a new gaffer
Love to Kevin Sharkey ðĶ ð
I like it. We just need a decent manager.

Cooper over Bruce or Corberan definitely, though wouldn't mind Potter ! If the fixture computer is kind, may get 2 or 3 winable games in first 6 ! not an impossibility, but if we stay up,it will rival winning the Prem,ALMOST !
I think next season will be challenging for sure with the points deduction but I think weâll be up for the fightðĪ
Having listened to wolfing I personally wouldn't touch Cooper with a barge pole however the club isn't going to take any notice of what us fans think if he gets the job I feel we're going backwards Having said that I'm behind any guy that comes in 110%
Iâve spoken to Forest fans to get opinions on him they say he is loved at Forest and gave them some of their best tines following the club but said struggled to get results last season.
@TFWhistle_ let's see jack I'd rather have corberan but staying up is imperative
I'm not sure Cooper is is a good choice, ex Forest. Would have gone with Moyes if this is the case.
My view of Cooper differs from Wolfie and he hosted some cracking debates around our misfiring team at the time. He is a top bloke and a straight talker. FFTV can be one feisty channel. The thing with Cooper is to remember the players he had that first season, and the gulf between the divisions. He took them up with loanees and trainees. Cooper had decent strikers that first season, and a fastish but light midfield so had to rely on keeping the opposition out and play from a counter attacking stance. So he played the formations he had to in the attempt to survive. All good teams are built on a solid defense at the center. Look at every league winner including your own champions team. 14 x 0 conceded, 14 x 1 conceded so defense is the key to success. Cooper knows this. And seems good at it. The second season began with the first season squad. He started well and then the new players arrived. Unfortunately at the time we were coming up against the easier opposition and turned wins into draws whilst trying to reform with the new players. Taiwo was carrying an injury, and Callum Hudson Odoi was out from early on until after Cooper was sacked. So he had Elanga who could hit or miss moved to the left, Woods who could also hit and miss, and Gibbs White moved out of position to the right. All in an attempt to play to Chris Woods Strengths. His first full squad formation with the new players was 4-2-3-1 (Nuno's normal formation) but the injuries were to the wrong players. So with MGW was put on the right (out of position) and Elanga on the other side in an attempt to play to the strengths of Chris Wood, it didn't work out in a 4-3-3 with a mismatched forward line. Sangare who was bought to lock up the center (as your Kante did) and failed to step up, so Mangala ended up there. Cooper ended up then, trying to get a weak midfield to function better. When defending with a low block the team conceded from full back/goalkeeper failings, and when more attacking formations we conceded through the middle. The team dropped back most times because of no real forward outlet through a sometimes weak midfield. Coopers main problem came with the (New) players who failed to perform or fit together well under the circumstances. And I said all of this and more on FFTV. Also Consider the goalkeeper situation, and that Nuno with a better CV than Cooper could do no better with the players Cooper had once the two win bounce was over. Even going low block himself at times. Having offered an amnesty to all on arrival Nuno ended up playing Coopers picks. Only the two late wins gave Nuno a better point per game than Cooper in the end. Nuno also had the two injured strikers return (but did have AFCON to deal with), and got a goalkeeping upgrade and two more forwards to help. I think that Cooper paid the price for the few key players that went missing on form or through injury, and the timing of fixtures during the rebuild, and then losing the owners support. He also had no pre season with most of the new players who mostly failed to hit the ground running. My view is that Cooper is highly capable, but like all managers he would be better with better players and a stable core of decent, established premier league players. So for me I'm looking forward to see how well he performs at his next club. He might surprise everyone in my opinion. He has shown a desire to play forward, and tried everything to stop the rot at Forest, under difficult circumstances. But in the end you can only work with what you've got player wise. They have to step up. So as a Forest fan, I wish you, your team, and connections a successful return. No matter who you put at the helm. Though hopefully not against us (I'm sure you feel the same!!). Be well, and good luck.
Wolverine was never there when cooper first came on Only started showing his face as soon as we were prem
Cooper did well at Forest when he came in for you lot and got promotion through playoffs and then safety in prem following season then I think this season just wasnât getting results whatâs your thoughts on cooper mate?
@@TFWhistle_ he brings a good togetherness but I worry about the style of play and his subs are very late Cooper got massively found out at the end Your best option is Carlos from West Brom
I reckon âcooper âcould be a great addition to any club
Whatâs your thoughts on Steve Cooper?
@@TFWhistle_ I think heâs a firefighterâĶ..and thatâs what we need with this ffp looming, personally I prefer moyes, I think heâs had more experience in prem and I really like what heâs done with both Everton and WesthamâĶ.. it wonât be eye candy football by any stretch of the imagination , but if we stay up this year, itâll be a miracleâĶ..as a Leicester fan I believe in miracleâs,as we seen in the premier league title winning seasonâĶ.. itâs just about the fans getting behind the new manager at the helm who ever he is and making him feel welcome ð 12th man will make or break our season
Well what your lad has said has worried me a little now aha but na if Cooper comes through the doors Iâm backing him Iâm sure he will have learnt a little the mistakes he made that he brought upððŧ
Iâll back whoever comes in just gotta give them a chance heâs not my first choice but if itâs cooper then Iâll back him
