1981 BBC Interview with Billy Gillespie of Sheffield United - 1925 FA Cup Final Captain
In 1981 the BBC carried out this feature on Billy Gillespie, who was captain of Sheffield United when they won the FA Cup for the 4th time in 1925.
Billy was in every sense a Blades legend, playing for the club 448 times and scoring 127 goals. He was also capped by Ireland, playing 25 times and scoring 13 goals.
After retiring as a player, he was made manager of Derry City in 1932. In honour of him and the Blades, the club changed their strip to match the red and white stripes of United - colours they still wear to this day.
Billy's 1925 Final shirt - complete with the Sheffield Coat of Arms - is still owned by the Gillespie family. Several shirts from that Final do however reside in United's "Legends of The Lane" museum.

i thought the reffs were very biased towards the host nation
The refs are always biased against someone
Refs are influenced by crowds the great Dutch teams of the seventies were victims of playing the host nation in 74 &78 they were easily the best in the world in that era yet lost 2 WC finals
