    1. In 2019, the Basel Accords changed the way banks handle gold on their balance sheets. Previously, they could only account for 50% of the value of the gold they held. After the change, they can account for 100%. This made gold a Tier 1 asset, like US Treasuries. In my opinion, this change was more significant than generally recognized. 2. China, through the Shanghai Gold Exchange, purchases large amounts of physical gold and has a significant influence on the global gold price, independent of the LBMA and COMEX. If China decided to set a floor price, say $3,000 per ounce, the global price would quickly adjust, with physical gold moving from the West to China. 3. Another key element is the geopolitical context. Economic warfare between global blocs, such as 88% of the world's population versus the West, could include control over the price of gold (POG). If China, Russia, and BRICS decide to set a price of $5,000 or $10,000 per ounce, the LBMA and COMEX could collapse, as physical gold would quickly be taken away from Western markets, leaving paper contracts exposed. These factors lead me to consider the idea of "excessively high gold prices" to be of little relevance. What is an excessive price? Over 10 years ago, Jim Sinclair predicted a POG of $74,000, and today that estimate could be even higher. Money has always taken different forms - stones, shells, paper - and its value depends on the economic environment. Central bank control over gold could change, and I see a stark difference between Western banks, who do not buy gold, and those of the global majority, who continue to hoard it. In short, I would not be surprised if Western banks lost control of the POG, leaving room for the global majority countries. This would not lead to a decline in the price of gold, but to a significant increase, with values multiples compared to the current ones.

Trump put an FX maven who specializes in economic history as a professional and made money on sovereign financial mistakes. What could a 'deal guy and the king of debt do to set the financial stage. He has fons of undervalued gold. Does he need any legal permission to fix its price and get any benefits?

  • @user-hr1dn3pz8t

The deficit is the end all, be all of operating the government. We approach financial dominance where the interest cost on the deficit dominates the budget effort. Tough problem for trump to inherit. There is a way to cut $4trillion from the deficit, with the stroke of a pen and without bribing Congress We carry 290 million ounces of gold on the US balance sheet at a valuation of $42.220/ounce or so. If Trump issues an executive order to rescind the Nixon order removing a tag to gold, torevalue gold at $15000/ounce (an 8% or so compound growth in gold price) he has taken four billion off the deficit. Whose ox gets gored and does he really core, given the alternatives? Trump can sell this idea to his base, then it has legs.

What the Democrats did to Trump in his first term wasn’t a “hoax”. It was a CRIME! They LIED about him then used their own lies to FRAME him and IMPEACH him. Then they lied to try to get him ARRESTED. Next they tried to BANKRUPT him through false charges and lawfare. Not my idea of a “hoax”. I’m saying this as someone who believes that Trump is a narcissistic con man but that doesn’t justify the crimes committed by the Democrats. Imho, the country won’t heal without seeing justice but I agree that justice won’t happen.

You asked an excellent question about “inflating the debt away” at 36:30 - I‘ve struggled with the same question and it’s difficult to find an answer. Traditionally, money was silver/gold (an asset without an offsetting liability). In the current system, the ‘money’ supply is DEBT created by banks & central banks out of nothing via loans. Loans are created by banks from nothing (they are not loaning deposits as is commonly believed). Therefore, total private and public debt must constantly expand in order for enough ‘debt money’ to circulate. It’s a brilliant system if you’re a bank. There is discussion of reforming this bizarre monetary system dating back to the 1930s. The government could once again issue money rather than borrow ‘debt-money’ issued by banks. th-cam.com/video/d6x8RqiAqno/w-d-xo.html
