    This inspires me a lot, this is something I've been considering doing because earth buildings are stronger than the materials used today and I love the fact that it get's really cool in summer, when you live in South-Africa you know how hot it can get in summer so I'm definitely doing it thanks for the motivation❤

    I mean, this is hands down one of the largest earth ship-inspired homes I’ve seen so far. Beautiful. I’d love to see a proper tour and showdown of some of the construction peculiarities including the decision making behind it. I’d be curious about the cost of material and labor as well.

    Hello Dams. What are the possibilities of a project like this in Namibia? I might consider this as one of my options for a project I got in Namibia. I’d like to know the cost total for this project in South African Rands excluding the land. Please kindly get back to me. Appreciate it

      And how much time for full project completion

    • @damshuyb1879
      @damshuyb1879 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Gil, a project like this is about the same cost as a conventional project. It's cheaper on materials but more experience on labor (labor intensive). For the timing it all depends on machinery that you include in your project (earth moving machine and other mechanical process). In this case we choose to give work to more workers than using more machine... At the end the cost is the quite the same but the impact (human and environment) and the timing are different.

      Soil, water and more or less grass and sand. More grass less sand or more sand less grass. Both are helping preventing cracks when it's fully dry.

      Hi, you just need a good amount of clay in your soil, but the critical point is the way you fit the stones into the wall.

    Sir if you create an in depth course about the process of how you and these men created this master piece or as you create another one, I will be your first customer! From the other comments, I can say many others will pay too. It will be worth a lot of money and a continuous income for you. I currently am in the realm of online courses and I believe every expert should use it.

    That green roof uses a good bit of manufactured steel.

    • @damshuyb1879
      @damshuyb1879 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree with you it's still to much. BUT. Compare to concrete structure it's not much actually and the problem with concrete is that you will never take it back from the building. It will become trash or it will request lots of effort and energy to get it back and to process it to make it usable again. On this project, the walls will one day go back to nature, then the steel will still be available for another structure or for an easy recycling. I'm sure there is ways to avoid steel, but it was not possible in this case. The aim was to give a good thermal mass to the building to avoid any heating or cooling system, so we took the decision the make a thick green roof. Which means heavy loads that wood wouldn't carry on sufficient distance. So we agree, perfect solution does not exist and will never, but we can improve it. If you have suggestion about another way to do, I will be happy to think about it and to try it. All the best.

    Hey there, just know i really need to tell you this.. The problem is, we search for happiness and identity in a world where the love is conditional, this will never fulfil us. The only One who can give you true eternal happiness is the One Who created you. For so long i had a void and tried so many things to fill it but i was looking to the wrong place and wrong people. It wasn't until I truly surrendered my life to Jesus(Yahusha) that my whole life changed (LITERALLY). Im not trying to tell you about religion, I'm speaking about the individual, He Himself, who wants to have a relationship with you and is knocking at the door of your heart waiting for you to let Him in. He died for us and His blood is what saves us from the flesh, our sinful nature and deceptive hearts that deny Him. He died for us and rose on the third day, He is the Saviour of humanity andHe became a curse for us that we may become the righteousness of God. This world is dying and the only source of life is our one and only Saviour. He is coming back soon and I want you to be ready when He comes. Just call out to Him, repent and turn away from the patterns of this world, i swear if you are sincere, your life will be begin. Tonight, i urge you, cry out to Him, pour out your heart and ask Him to change you, repent and confess your sins and ask that He forgives you, He is waiting for you to come to Him finally. Your life begins when you honestly decide to give it up to Him. For God so loved the world that He cave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world but that the world may be saved through Him. - John 3:16,17
