Hello all, I'm Ron Wilkins. It's sad that more folks haven't commented on this outstanding video. I spent a good portion of my early preteen years at the Richard Thomas' family Berkeley Yacht Basin with my Dad's 40' Matthews boat the DeDe II being berthed there. Later in my youth as a teen at SPYC (1961-1965) with my Dad's last boat the 51' Maine Maid being berthed there. My grandfather Harold Wilkins built his home across Bayview Ave from SPYC at 120 3rd Avenue in 1915. I remember the Seaside Heights boardwalk fire of 55 and the PRR trestle fire in 1957. I spent every summer of my youth combing the bulkheads at SPYC for blue claw crabs. I remember the Applegate, Sutton, Handel, Wright and Switlik family boats all being berthed at SPYC when we were members. Unfortunately our association with the club ended when my father Floyd V. Wilkins was murdered in January 1966 on a business trip to Boston.

Once I moved to Bozeman and discovered Bridger bowl and Big sky I know how it feels brother. Almost indescribable ⛷️💨🤪

I grew up out east, mostly Upstate New York (you know, north of the Bronx!). In 1970 on a bit of a lark, I went to Bozeman to go to school at Montana State University. It was an epiphany for sure! You're right. Even better than Belleayre Mountain ski area! Not just the snow and the mountains, but the whole vibe, wildlife, lifestyle. It's been a bit Californ*cated, but it's still pretty nice. Haven't lived back east since. But I still remember the New York alphabet. Effen-A, effen-B, effen-C, etc. No one out in the Rockies really knows what ice is. Ah, the Galatin River. You almost can't NOT catch fish there! BTW, best barbeque in the U.S. may be just a mile south of Big Sky at The Riverhouse. Last season 21-22 was mediocre for sure. Just FYI, there's a sweet resort (I use the term loosely for night life - zero - and such, but it's probably advanced intermediate powder heaven) on the east side of the Tetons. Grand Targhee resort. When La Nina sets up, it seems to be just on the north side of the jet stream and just gets walloped, even in off years! This year they've added in the Collins chair, which, I think covers all of what used to be Cat skiing. They usually get about what Alta in Little Cottonwood gets. Sometimes visibility is bad there, but you could always cross over to Jackson Hole if necessary. I think Grand Targhee would be a fly in to Idaho Falls (Jackson's closer, but the drive is tough over the pass!) and a 2-hour drive. My wife's from Westfield, so passing on info to another Jersey-ite.

Maybe you should wear a flat brim the next time we go out to eat after a cycling event. You might attract the ladies.
