so the only played thing is the mellotron and the xylophone? Didn't see that one coming
🤯
OMG, that's sick.🙏
Take a bow from me... You are a dedicated legend... ❤

Very good work, even poetic. Thank you for the information and images. I shared it on my channel. I wish you much success in your lives.
Amazing
He actually used the Seville song sample without the rights and he had to pay 50% of incomes/profit to Luiz Bonfá (it was taken to court)
Isso é um sample que é difícil de pegar kkkk

Guitar chords from the 1 piont dont match totally with the 'original' samples. And in whole some of these samples are quite popular rythms. The video shows firstly the similarity of many arrangement decisions, I think. Maybe the samples weren't taken from these demonstrated tracks.
Gotye is a genius as hell, and so you are finding it out. Damn, how high is your musical intelligence
I never know i heard this song under the same name as the music for that... Autobahn accident.
So it really was a horse sound this whole time! 😂
Enlightening - I thought this was fairly organic and low-fi, and that the only sample was the Mellotron. Was I wrong.
This video is already a year old, and it’s crazy how we’re in 2025. ANYONE AGREE?
brother did that tracklib style editing
yes ;)
just like that BRO AND I THOUGHT THEY DID LIKE A BUNCH OF CHOPS AND WHAT NOT AND ITS BASICALLY JUST THIS( i mean i think there is a bit more to it like the violin samples when singing but i digress)
It would have been easier to just play the music. Lol
witchcraft
0:51 the sheep is very huge 😮😮😮😮
where's that sine-y, reverb-y synth from?
I think we still dont know!
@@gabrielmendes9700darn
it's probably just a synth they made
@@KeaneJ123 time to remake

The Boom Bap is so hard! 0:16
Who is credited as the producer for this song? I'm not seeing a producer credit in the video or in the description.
It's probably gotye himself
its amazing that they he make drums and melody only with samples.
its so interesting watching these
Can you pls do Gentleman by Venetian Snares
GOATYE
i can't believe it's even possible to find the dee felice trio sample. like wow
Thank you for the effort making this. It's interesting!
A true genius I listen to him say how he made that beat and song he had to keep taking breaks and cone back
is this what dj do?
I love DJ Shadow so much, thank you for breaking this down 🫶🏼 🔥
They had one Job and they flipping nailed it ✨👏🏻
What's wild to me is that these are all tiny riffs that if he played them himself, I don't think they would be copyrightable, especially if he conjoined certain parts into one layer that sounds nothing like one particular influence. In court, playing such a mishmash would probably not be considered infringement.
what the fuck?! nice find
woahh. he’s an insane sample mixer, quite the chef
la mea paja
Liked subscribed saved shared I would get it tatted if I could
This is how sampling is done, and even 50% of this level is great. Looking at you Paranoia (sample: Youg Girl A and just slap bass) and Cute Depressed (sample: Lost Umbrella)
To anyone feeling like they're disappointed in the songs creation, don't fret - its a great tune and creating was still act of musical artistry. If you want to see someone bring the track to life on one guitar you can thank Mike Dawes for grinding the masterpiece out - th-cam.com/video/XwCK1z3wT8g/w-d-xo.html
this is shocking
Sampling of previously released songs gets a bad rap within a certain demographic - it’s viewed as stealing (which would imply a sound can only be played back a certain number of times or that the original song is literally destroyed or censored in some way), dishonest (which ignores the fact that nothing in music is 100% original anyway, especially chord choices), entirely unoriginal (which ignores the genius of composing via rearrangement in a radical way, like this or Daft Punk’s Face to Face), lazy (which, in addition to ignoring the mental ability to make samples sound fresh, ignores the effort, likely years of DAW practice, and time spent cobbling together a work like this), or unfair (as if music were a competitive sport)… Sampling is a beautiful art.
Hibbie A, reminds me of Sandworms BG Music from Doodle Do
What a genius
Genius!!! 😮
Can we also appreciate the visuals that helped so much?
The outro is kinda fire
