HD hrhysg😢😅😂 Jcjdjdhnfjnfjdn G the F h F has a lot to be in your heart to keep you yyyyy in mind and life in a relationship with 🎉
Agree with the below comment. In the UK too many supermarkets have a small range of poor quality South African wines that still give the consumer a poor impression of what is available. There are now lots of on-line wine merchants that offer a good selection of wines if you know what you are looking for. Unfortunately some of the better wines are now getting expensive compared to offerings from Chile and Argentina. It is a pity that some of the excellent wines I tried in South Africa which sold there for a less than $7 are triple that price when they hit the shelves here!
Dimple,no dimple,dimple,no dimple
🇦🇺👍
Great interview, Jordan! I think there is still a gap between the reputation and reality. Years of cheap cooperative-lead exports in the 90’s ruined their reputation abroad and now they’re facing an uphill battle...exciting region for us collectors, no doubt.
I love history and I love wine. This is very informative
Seriously? I’m the first comment? This guy is awesome, more people need to take note.
Excellent video !!
Some Chateauneuf du Pape, as some Wines in Langudoc are aged in the Big Barrel, not in the bottle. I have chance to taste a Chateauneuf du Pape 1972 (Xavier Vignon) two years ago. It was an aged one but still having certain impressive freshness. Really gorgeous. Of course, just as you say the barrel was forgotten by the producer in his vineyard🤣. But in fact their are some producer, especially in Langudoc, Rhone regions, like to "élever" as in French their red wine in the big barrel and to bottle them many years (6, 8 even, 10) later to sell. For example, the famous Chateauneuf du Pape, Rayas, we have to wait for more than eight years to buy the so called "new" wine; Or such as Peyre Rose, excellent domaine in Languedoc, you can probably only find their red wines of 2012 or 2013 in sell this year (2024).
I enjoyed that, thanks mate
It took a foreigner to properly tell the history of SA. Aussies, we can do better!
Great video. Thank you!
Can't taste or smell it. can you? Hope the camera doesn't get sick...
Sipping a Chateauneuf-Du-Pape as I watch this. Definitely a step up from my normal tipple. Great video btw
Excellent video! Loved the history lesson given and all the knowledge around the area. Visited the area back in the early 2000s. So gorgeous but the Castles, hahahaa so many, so epic. Then drove to Cahors…
Wow, this was fantastic. Keep making videos. Thank you!
☹️ 'PromoSM'
Nice explanation. Thank you!
My father was friends with Max Shubert. I am a Penfolds fanatic.
Next tell us about Canadian wines.
Bull shit
I love Lindeman's sweet red wine
I love sweet red wine
Just get some Chinese Red Wine, put sugar in it and shake. Velly goooo.
Who is auntie pope ?
Just bought a bottle for $5. 2017 wine excellent . .
This video would be much more enjoyable without the music covering the dialogue.
I won't add the comment since you've already made it but yes. Starting about 7:50 for sure
Best video i could find on the history of SA and from an interesting perceptive
Very interesting content! Thank you very much for that review!
I love the label and the premise behind it. Thelonius Sphere Monk was one legit pianist/composer and apropos for a fine wine. Eager to try.
Lovely
I love this wine so soo much, holy shyt it’s bees knees
As a South Australian, I'll say that was a pretty good summary. Well played.
Very informative, I enjoyed video.
The Coudoulet 2019 is really good. Thank you for your introduction.
This one has exceptional value.
For a 6 minute video, you sure covered a lot of ground, Lisa. Many thanks for such a straight-forward comparison!
Add to my comment, I mean have no knowledge of it!😂
Thank you. Your comments are appreciated, often we are offered a new wine and have knowledge of it. I have bought a case of Attuale and think it is good value.
@6:55--Anybody want to weigh in--Why did he say "You'll never want to eat lamb again"...Because it's so plentiful, or it's so bad(gamey, which I like in a stew, or tough like mutton)?
Thanks for that presentation. Really appreciate the sense of humor and wit - too many wine experts take themselves too seriously. Just picked up a 2011 La Celestiere CdP to try along a 2014 Cosme Gigondas.
Good sub $25 from Aussie. Recommend to showcase higher end sub $70
Terrific tasting notes, Lisa. Going to pick up that '06 from the heart of Reims...sounds amazing.
like your energy and good knowledge
Urgh, the Tread Softly I had was undrinkable
Uh, "sowthern" Rhone? I'm confused about your chosen pronunciation. Great video, though!
Thanks. A good video. But you've missed out one level in your three levels. There's a fourth. Côtes-du-Rhône Villages has two levels - there are Côtes-du-Rhône Villages, where the village/villages are NOT named, and Côtes-du-Rhône Villages where the village IS named. It's an important difference. For example, Cairanne was a named Côtes-du-Rhône Villages wine until 2016 when it became a "Cru", like Chateuneuf du Pape and Gigondas etc. But there are plenty of Côtes-du-Rhône Villages (unnamed) that could never become Crus until they have achieved "named" village status.
And also, sorry to be pedantic, you're pronouncing Gigondas and Vacqueyras as they would in Paris. Locally, Gigondas is pronounced with the "s" sounding. Vacqueyras is locally pronounced with and without the "s" sounding depending on which locals you talk to!
Oh come on guys, your advice on when to drink a wine such as Chateuneuf du Pape (or any of the southern rhone crus) is pants. It depends on the year! Like all wines, some years' harvests are better than others, for mostly climactic reasons and this affects the yield and the quality of the harvested grapes, or indeed when they are harvested. Give some advice on which years are better than others! IMHO and experience the Crus shouldn't be opened until at least 3 years after harvesting. Some need even more time.
Good point, I can get Cave de Rasteau very reasonable in my local shop €15 here in Ireland.
sowthern Rhone?
Good to see South Australian wines featured here. SA heaps good 👍
