For the last 24 hours it has move west apart from about 2 degrees north. So the hurricane is impacting Cuba more than the Bahamas. Storm force 10 winds are blowing over southern Bahamas with Storm force 11 about 15 kms away and Hurricane about 20. Which means about 90% of Grand Bahamas is not being devastated. But Hurricanes can turn or go away. So still early. Or not half way. But it is very close. Close for Bahamas and over the coast of Cuba.

May be drowned by a 50ft hurrican wave riding the hurrican sea wave swell at high tide. Nicholls Town may perish if they do not evacuate before the full magnitude of the devastation happens.Queens Highway will most likely be swollowed in many places. San Andros Air Port Elevation 35ft Bowens Sound Settlement High point 49ft. Bowens Sound Settlement may drown if the full swell arrives.Mangrove Cay Settlement. Highest elevation 112ft (50m).Andros Island. Swamp. Low Land. Likly to drown or be flooded. But a few significant hights. One of 179m. May be a big rock. May survive. But only big enough for a few people. But they wmay be surrounded by violent seas. Located small hill of 200meters plus. By London Chreek. So Area 1600 square meters above 100 meters. May be large enough for a thousand people huddled like penquins together trying to survive winds of over 150mph whilst surrounded by wild hurican water covering 95% of the rest of the Island. But this information is no good as different maps are saying different things. One says 200meters whilst saying 3ft.One map says: 1st South Andros High Point 27 meters (89ft) 2nd North Andros High Point 19 meters, 62ft. 3rd Mangrove Key High Point 13 meters, 44 ft. So I can not say where the Islands highest point is. But there is a potential 60ft flood on its way. So you need to know where the highest points are. Other wise it looks like there could be about 99% devastation as about 98% of the Bahamas looks low or less than 52ft which is what the hurricane's sea swell is.
