I'm Sergio. I work as an HVAC technician in San Diego. I want to try to give a glimpse into our industry. I may not always get a diagnosis right as I am only human after all. Stay Tuned for tool reviews and HVAC related videos. Thanks for watching!

Oh thats cool
Cool device
I got one works great. I see that Alerton system.
Does not look like your working much either under that tent.. and iam a mechanic, and I have worked in worse ..lol but yall have nothing on carpenters and construction lol
work on cars on a snowy day. Every repair always ends up being under car snow and ice dripping on ya all day
lol intro pop up.
Sergio your music choice is impressive.
@@learningwithjuan thank you sir
Obviously you guys didn't like physics in school. It all makes sense. Go read some books. 🤪
Inverted jacuzzi from the 90s?
looks like some thing you would find in a Chinese restaurant you know teh ones with that Sketchy Buffet
There's a lot going on there. Look at all those lights! Why is there a sprinkler right there? A camera? Is the fan for flinging water or....or what?
You didn’t see the speaker too?!!
Hey Sergio. Congrats on 1k subs..

well hello there, i was a little disturbed, but busted out laughing a second later, nice intro
Lol thank you
This or the icon mini ratchet set?
@@Malcomb35 hmmm. They have different applications. The icon set is definitely more compact than this in terms of the case and ratchet. Personally I like the WIHA and Gearwrench bit ratchets over the icon.
Wow Sergio! Your content is amazing! So proud of you .
Klein has some great stuff.
They sure do
What up neighborhood weirdo lmao. I gotta say when i first started seeing the little klien kits i thought they were gimmicky, have now purchased a few sets and hope a metric set is available soon. Great little kits for the bag.. also the fact they are pass through nobody's taking them. Last time i worked at a jail they took my metal scrapers and told me i could only have a safety knife no full razor blades or box cutters
If you ask me, the Klein 65300 KNECT 32-Piece is better for HVACR because of 11/32. So many motor mounting nuts use 11/32. I came across them all the time doing HVAC, and I still find them out there all the time now that I'm doing commercial refrigeration. All sorts of condenser and evap motors use them. I'm using the Klein KNECT 7-in-1 Ratcheting Impact Stubby with the 32-Piece kit, and it's badass. What I did was, remove the nut driver of the KNECT 7-in-1 Ratcheting Stubby and replaced it was the KNECT S extension found in the 32-Piece kit. I also keep the 11/32 nut on while in my tool bag. The KNECT kits are a must for service techs.

That was the apprentice
Probably
Does it really matter
It does. Maybe not to you.
Did you factor in space and what might be installed on top or bottom or did that not apply.
@@catacocamping874 there's a platform it's mounted to there's nothing that would be above it.
@ so when installed in buildings they don’t need space for plumbing other electrical work and walls sounds about right
@catacocamping874 it's out side I'm not saying it needs to be a massive box but one thats big enough so that you don't risk shorting something out or electrocuting your self
@ if that shorts then they must be very bare wires or exposed to the elements because there be a lot of old houses and new ones with out power lol 😂
@@catacocamping874 there was a wire on that relay that was very close to the one of the edges on the box. It's kind of hard seeing in the video. Someone put some electrical tape on it at some point but you can see bare copper

I was wondering what all the old Curtiss-p-40-warhawk where recycled in to .... damn that sone hell of a Propeller thats not a fan put some wing s on it and it could take flight lol ..Awesome Video love the back ground music
@@SaerTurner-wn2qh that's actually a fairly small one.
I just scored one exact today at the toy store I go to a lot. It was $399 CAD regular, but this was price chopped down to $295 because the panels are missing. The guy even gave me a better deal knocked it down to $275 right off the shelf. I'm pumped
Noice! I hope you enjoy it
Grat Video!! Looks like a typical service call! I know tons of "electricians" that cant read a dang meter or know what to do with it. Great job Sir!
@@texassparky Thank you!
Weird enough to be controls guy
@@AldenBloat-ef1et Thems there fightin werds
The bearings in the motor are most likely shot. When power is applied the rotor sucks up against the stator due to the stators magnetic field and the slop in the bearings.
@@awsom70 yea that was likely the cause. It wasn't that much slop from what I remember. It was definitely weird and something I'd never come across before
Good troubleshooting steps overall, but I think the root cause might still be unclear. With a high-capacity breaker, a true short to ground would result in a much lower resistance than 1980 ohms-probably just a few ohms or less. A resistance that high would cause minimal leakage current and wouldn’t be enough to trip the breaker. Plus, the buzzing sound you mentioned indicates that some components were still getting power. If it were a genuine short, the breaker would trip instantly, and you wouldn’t hear any humming. It might be worth checking for an another issue, like a locked rotor or a seized component, which could cause excessive load without directly grounding out.
There's a good chance you do not have the right type of fuses in there because if you had a dead short that fuse should of blown..
@@fakjoo9553 They are time delay. Technically it's not a dead short as there is resistance to ground. Since one leg is always powered up that would give the short some resistance as the other two don't get put into the circuit until the contactor closes. Hopefully that was as clear as mud
Thank you for understanding a meter man
I thought you weren’t supposed to measure resistance on a live circuit?
@@Ninja__2-n1z it's wasn't live. The power was off when I tested it
See you are also a sparky 🤣
never!
Subscriber finding and less than 60 seconds*
Nice. Probably spent an hour finding it then tried to make it look easy haha. Troubleshooting makes time go warp speed. Electrical troubleshooting is like 75% of an HVACRs service work. The other 25% is fixing the work found from troubleshooting electrical work. Nothing is ever easy like on TH-cam, but if you are determined to find the cause, you likely will (just takes time). Don’t forget to take a break if you get frustrated or stuck, often the problem will reveal itself after taking time to gather yourself while enjoying a warm caffeinated beaverage.
Took me longer to get someone to come over and show me where the electrical room was to turn the breaker back on.
If I could figure this out I never would have lived on the street for all those years .
Often normal multimeter will show You nothing. In that case You need to use Riso meter, since short is due to insulation failure at some voltage.
Do you mean a mega Ohm meter? Never heard of a riso meter.
@@huasohvac Riso meter is another name of insulation meter and insulation tester. Similar to Ohm meter, but with much higher test voltage (exact test voltage depends on a circuit nominal voltage, used insulation in wires and mostly local regulations). It measures up to hundreds of giga Ohms. In Poland in our grid, cable with 1 MΩ or lower is considered as not safe according to our regulations. Practically 10-50 meters cable with 10 MΩ is considered as very very bad one. Riso meters are not expensive and it saves lives. It's worth to have one, even for personal usage only. You can test also devices like a USB chargers - in here You have also insulation between hot side (230 V, 110 V or whatever You have) and cold side (~5 V). I had one charger which made me a "surprise" once - and it wasn't cheap one.
