Step behind the scenes with Acorns + Oak Photography as I prepare for a 2-hour newborn session with little Amara. This video shows my meticulous process, from setting up the perfect backdrop to ensuring every detail is just right for capturing precious moments.
Behind the Scenes is me setting up with a doll, as the parents requested no BTS footage of the actual session. I do share the final photos after sharing how I prepared for each set up.
Using a pre-session questionnaire, I learned that Amara's parents love purple, blue, and white. With this in mind, I prepared two setups to provide variety. First, I taped a purple curtain to the floor and ironed out the wrinkles. I set up a white basket filled with pillows and fur, testing various props like eucalyptus plants to make sure everything was perfect.
Next, I layered the newborn bean bag with blankets and pee pads, ensuring comfort and smoothness. When Amara’s parents arrived, they brought two adorable outfits-a pink dress and a purple outfit. We captured her in these outfits, then moved on to wrap and naked photos, finishing with some heartwarming shots featuring mom and dad’s hands.
