I’m just a guy who loves to fix things up and make them look and function better then they have since they were new. The OBS Chevy Gets A New Moser Differential Cover/Girdle! (Budget OBS Chevy Series Episode 7)

Episode 7 of the Big Blue Beater 1994 OBS Chevy series is all about replacing my diff cover due to the seized up fill plug and a broken cover bolt. I ended up going with a Moser cover with a built in fill and drain plug. It also has some pretty nice bearing cap support bolts to add along with the look and convenience of the other features. Hope this info helps some people out!

I’m honestly sorry about that.. I wish I would’ve gotten more of the process filmed but I’m still new to the TH-cam thing so by the time I thought of documenting the process, it was already too late. I hope I can remake this video in the future and make it way more detailed!

Good idea to weld a nut on there the heat will help. Tigjten and losen and spary penetrating oil on there, go slow
Are there mounts for the bed as well ? Or is it just the cab. Just got my first ever chevy and tryna get this beast on point
Thanks for the comment and congrats on your new OBS! Our beds actually don’t have any rubber mounts but they do have shims. I have a video on my channel showing how to remove the bed tho. You can see in that video what shims I’m talking about 👍

I agree! Makes a huge difference. It’s the Moser MSR-7107 and it’s $200 now on Summit but I think you could probably find it a bit cheaper on eBay because when I bought it before it was only $160..

I ordered the kit and it didn’t come with instructions, did you place the 2 bigger mounts on the rear cab and the other 4 on the front of the cab and radiator core support?
Yes the two thicker ones go on the rear of the cab 👍🏼

You should be able to tell by looking under ur truck I could tell on money because the rubber mounts were blown out
Yes that could mean your front mounts are worse off then your rear body mounts.

Did the kit come with bolts or did you source them locally? Do you know what size and thread they are? I've seen conflicting information as to what size they are. I suspect M12x1.75x120mm but have yet to confirm that.

@@KingOfTerrors88 Yes, I took one of the ones that came out to Ace hardware and picked up 6 for my cab. $4 a piece but at least my cab won't fall off now. Pretty sure they were the m12x1.75x120mm.

With just the Y pip Sounds like my v6 stepside when I had it with just the Y-pipe before I installed a magnaflow catalytic converters with a dynomax exhaust system..
Dang that just shows how much the 305 has to offer lol the 305 V8 sounds like crap without a decent exhaust in my opinion but I bet that V6 sounds sick with the magnaflow and dynomax setup!
NachoSlacker I’ll have to post it on my Other account which is where I post my obs stuff. It has a nice rumble a bit quiet in comparison to when my dynomax system didn’t have a catalytic converter but a straight pipe. I went with the single side exit exhaust since this truck was my grandpa and he gave it to me.

Not too bad I guess but those corners need help. I just picked up a 90 stepside for 500 and I've lowered it and swapped the seats and switched doors fenders all that. Same typical issues but I didnt have ANY rust or dents thank God 🙏🏼 also, that's a rare setup if you dont want them buckets send them my way along with the console lol. I swapped in the late 90s extended cab electric bucket seats. I dont agree with the lift but different folks different strokes, I'd at least just put 2 inch shackles on the rear and level the truck since it's not a 4x4. 2wd just looks wack lifted trust me. You could squeeze 31s or hell even 32s under a shackled 2wd. My truck was stock and he had 32s all the way around and the suspension was wore OUT. Shocks wasnt even bolted in the front

Old oil is not an indication that there is anything wrong with the motor it just means it sat for a while....and that oil didnt look too bad
Or the previous owner didnt keep up with the oil changes...but those old motors arent comparable to pos crap they come out with nowadays
Yeah I guess it was just a combination of everything hitting me at once so I got kinda negative lol but I definitely love how easy the TBI is to work on for sure! Just wish it was the 350 instead of the 305.. 😓

Unless that motor is knocking or it looks like the silver surfer pissed in your oil...that motor should be fine....
