997 Carrera: Custom GT3 cup lip project - Part 2
EPISODE 91: Part 2 - On this vlog, I continue on in this custom project of mating a 997 GT3 cup front spoiler to my OEM 997 Carrera front bumper. I complete the cutting out of the middle finisher and paint all parts and mount it on my car. I did same thing to my 997 but found lip in Orange County looks good on my car but it’s low. If I lower my car it will scrape, so be careful
If it doesn’t scrape, it ain’t low enough 😂
Question for ya. I have gundo and shark werks center bypass, if I wanted a bit more deeper sound should I do sport mufflers or headers next?
When I installed my headers, the sound change was not significant. It was more for performance. Most of the sound is going to be influenced by the cat and mufflers. My new setup will be out in the next few vlogs. I’d recommend you check it out when it’s published.
Hey saw you did a RWD conversion, how do you find the long term? Any codes?
No codes. One of the best mods I’ve done on my car.
@@autohype_usaperfect, did you have to leave the sensors plugged in? I’m looking at buying a C4, but would much rather RWD, but love the wide body of the 4
On the .1 there are no sensors that need to be removed on a RWD conversion. I'm not sure if that's the same with a .2 911.

In the shot of you washing... what is the cover(s) for your rims?
I made the covers out of cardboard and wrapped it with plastic wheel covers. I made the stands from scratch using leftover wood from one of my old home projects. Check out episode 59 on how I made them and episode 61 discusses more details on why/how I use them.
I came across your channel because I'm in the market for an E60 M5. Can you tell me where you got the E39 inspired lower grill air intakes? They really set off the front end of your car. Thanks for continuing to put out content.
I cut out the holes from the OEM grill and slid in a couple of burnt tip stainless steel intake ducts.

Nice 👌🏾❤️👌🏾…. I think the 997 turbo wing is the only factory wing that looks decent, that gt3 taco one is hideous but a lot of people like it. Your factory rear decal flows better and allows those 997 rear hips to shine. Once you installed the 30ohm resistors what faults came up that needed resetting?
Mainly air bag light. I also reset my steering angle sensor.

Great choice! They are actually very reliable cars. I would start off with getting a carfax report and see the cars history. Maintenance is one of the key factors I look at before I even see the vehicle in person.

waste of time and money - nice clean air filter will do the same, there will be noise increase. The money wasted getting more power from NA 997 is astonemical.

How do you elongate the holes, and does that affect if you want to go back to OEM?
I used a rotary tool with a grinding bit to carefully elongate the hole. This does not affect the ability to go back to OEM as the elongating is done only on the aftermarket headers.
Do you have a link to that air dam ? Not sure what V2 means, but I'm guessing its a stock 997.1 turbo air dam ? Do you know how hard it was to fit as the vendors will normally say it won't fit a base model 997.1
V1 is with the bottom eyelets and V2 is flat or filled. It required a lot of bending and heating (heat gun) to fit snug. You will also need to do some cutting as the turbo bumper is wider. I don't have the link, but I believe it was made by a company called Ikon.

Check out Episodes six and seven for the front lip. The rear bumper is from an OEM 997 turbo.
I want to know where you got your front lip and did it require any special installation requirements. I would like to add one to my C4 997.1.😊
