    Hi, I’m new to warhammer and decided to go with the necrons army, was gonna start with this destroyer to paint and wondering, when you prime the base do you build the whole miniature first? I started building mine but realised the plates on the engines would make it awkward to paint, is it best to prime with the off or the miniature built as a whole?

    • @JPMiniatures
      @JPMiniatures ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello, thank you for your message. Great choice with the necrons some great miniatures to choose from and paint. What dynasty have you decided to go with? For the destroyer you can certainly keep the engine panels off, but what I did was not glue the model into the base rock so that it’s easily accessible from underneath and you can prime it easier too whilst then utilising the base to hold the model while you paint the main parts. I believe the video shows how I’m describing it here. If I can help anymore please feel free to pop any questions across. 😊

      Thank you for your kind comment. A great start for a 40K army, are you thinking of building up a Tyranid force? I would highly recommend Genestealers they play very well. They certainly do like to lean, I use magnets for transporting the models so I have positioned them near the back of the base to add some counter weight. • @JPMiniatures
      @JPMiniatures ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello, glad your enjoying the videos. Feathering is a tricky skill took me a while to enjoy doing it. For the majority of my videos including the feathering I use a small layer brush from Citadel it keeps a good point and is small enough to get the lines, but I’d also recommend the 00 size series S Artis Opus brush which is something I’ve recently brought. I try not to have to much paint on my brush so it doesn’t go splotchy on the first stroke, and not having the paint to thick, if you use a wet palette that will really help keep the paint at the right consistency. Otherwise it’s really about taking your time with it until your comfortable. I hope this has helped but if you have any other questions please feel free to ask.
