Idk tbh, I would just make sure that the shock has the right fitment stats and that it’s not too much travel, you can check transitions website or buy the same shock that comes stock but in a higher travel varient

I love it, I came off of a Marin rift zone so it’s a lot different. It climbs way better jumps super well, eats up chunk, and is surprisingly playful. I haven’t gotten the chance to ride too many steep trails yet but so far I don’t think the HTA is too slack, it does feel like an aggressive bike, but I ride it on some mellow local trails and crazy DH and it works really well on both

You really don’t need too much speed, it’s really easy to overshoot, I usually start like 20ft back and then take a few pedals and maybe even break check a little
