Bob recorded the album as an acoustic demo in 1963 at Band Box Records in Denver, Colorado, and didn't think they were worth releasing. However, Band Box later sold the recording demos to MGM/Verve in 1966 to cash in on Bob's success with "Elusive Butterfly", and without Bob's permission or knowledge the acoustic songs were given strings and percussion arrangements by Pat Williams to match Jack Nitzche's folk/rock arrangements on World Pacific Records. Bob was none too pleased about the album's issue, and continues to disown the album to this day.
I don't like the overdubbed strings. But as acoustic Folk without the strings, these tracks that i have heard are not up to his later high standard. Bob has apparently never wanted these tracks released.
@@paulgoldstein2569 Technically, from a historic viewpoint, this was Bob's first recording session, as sparse and bare boned as it was, with originally just Bob and his guitar before the overdubbing came three years later, but you are correct. Bob didn't think the recordings were too professional enough for release, but he left the acetate in the hands of Band Box Records who later sold the acetate record to MGM/Verve, so it's partly Bob's fault; he should have taken (or purchased) the acetate record with him from Band Box if he didn't wanted it to be released as a cash in. This is something that happens all the time in the music and film business. A future star makes a recording or an obscure film or two that is not an overnight success, then a couple of years later, they have a big hit record or a blockbuster movie, and then without warning, the previous product the future star made without success gets released suddenly to the public as a cash in whether it's good or bad. Bob was unknown when he recorded the Band Box acetate, so when he suddenly found success with "Elusive Butterfly", he should have known the earlier Band Box recordings were going to be released, since this was a common practice in the music and movie business. The Band Box recordings are not bad, they are just overwhelmed a bit with Pat William's overdubs. Perhaps MGM/Verve should have left them as the original acoustic arrangements as they were, but they wanted a "Elusive Butterfly" arrangement with Jack Nitzche-like arrangements, so they went with the overdubs. It's simply the fact that Jack Nitzche was a better arranger than Pat Williams. Perhaps being a mentor of Phil Spector had something to do with it, but Jack did the arrangements without Phil's assistance of direction, and succeeded at it, where as Pat Williams failed.

Por causa dele que Cruzeiro caiu e ficou preso na série B por mais de um ano. Agora que clube está na série A sem ele, tem que contratar jogadores sérios com responsabilidade.
