His music is constantly concise, and ultra-varied. It wakes me up (as if I didn't realize I was asleep)! It RARELY bores me. Repetition seems to be done in a fractal, rather than arithmetic manner, making the music flow exceptionally.

It is a wonderful project!

It took me years to appreciate and enjoy #1, and similarly #2. Ironically #2 I listened to when my cd containing Petrushka and Prokofiev #7 accidentally played to the end. When a talent on the order of Charles Rosen is performing it must be taken seriously.

SUPERB. Engaging...it's like food, for my brain. Above and beyond that, I'll have to peruse his further works. I'm familiar with: TIME'S ENCOMIUM, which I purchased in the '70s. Time to check out the second & third piano sonatas (are there more?).

A trip to the dentist would be preferable to listening to the whole of this.

I worked on this piece as a kid, with a peer who wanted us to perform it. We were privileged that our mentors premiered it in the US. I couldn't manage it, given all my other course requirements. But I loved it, and wished I might have been equal to it. The section beginning 6:47 still sends me into raptures. I think being a performer unfairly enhances the thrill and discoveries of music, and this is certainly an example.

I've been looking and hoping for this all my life. The title is mentioned in the booklet from the CD with Couleurs croisées (Pousseur) and Aquatilis (Robert). It was the poetical title first of all, which made me curious! Thank you for this surprise! :)
