Hello Jurgen the engine has been tested on a water wheel and worked fine. i have finished its clean up and the engine looks fantastic, i am going to steam it this afternoon running a Bing steam hammers from a similar age, i will post the video of it on here later....Steve

Hello Stewart i am pleased with the run... i have given the engine a sympathetic restoration and nothing has been replaced in fact other than the burner it all looks original to me, even the spring in the safety is the original not bad for a 122 year old engine. its all polished up now and ready for a proper steam up running something.....Steve

Nice job mate! To think that engine was made six years before the Titanic sank… incredible! I hope I look that good when I reach the age of 118.

Hello Juergen I have made another video of the engine now performing perfect, i was never happy with the original steam valve so i removed it and found the threaded part had snapped off and some fool had just soldered the body of the valve back on it was a steam blast in the mush just waiting to happen🙄🙄...luckily i had a spare valve now that is fitted just look at the difference....Steve

Im well pleased with it, i just have to sort out the oiler, but nice runner....Steve

Hello Juergen i keep buying these pw203's this will be my 5th ,they are great engines. Im getting bored so i needed something to work on i saw this on ebay ....work starts tomorrow on that rusty base , its meant to be warmer the weekend so i will be able to spray the base...hopefully...Steve

It is annoying having smoldering wicks but the engine steams for 7 minutes without any issues so i shouldn't complain 😆😆😆😆...i enjoy steaming all my cyldons which i use small ceramic burners for heat , no problems other than dont have the gas to high and time the runs so the boiler doesnt run dry 😂😂😂😂....Steve

Hello Andy i have seen your name on the forum, my user name is the rat05, i buy scrap engines and try to rebuild them using all the original parts if possible. The D24 is a great engine, this engine needed a little work but as you can see it is a lovely engine ....Steve

@@juergen.hamers Hello Juergen i have been steaming it again today and i seem to have sorted the burner out by using thinner and slightly longer wicks, the burner itself is very thirsty having 4 wicks, the longest i can get out of it is 7 minutes which equates to almost a boiler full of water which seems about right to me as a safe guard against running the boiler dry. The engine has had its 14th and 15th steams today so after a clean up it will have a rest ....Steve

Hello Stewart the engine is very nice and runs well, i think i have sorted the burner now i have found a wick that seems to allow all four to burn evenly....we shall see.....Steve

Hello Jim its a great little engine , the hammers seemed to just belong to it very enjoyable to steam....It didnt come with a chimney so i had to make one which turned out well and just finishes the engine off....Steve

Hello Jim i use a heavy stainless steel plumbob cone shaped thing i bought off ebay its perfect for shaping annealed brass tubing into chimney shapes, The trouble and strife always ruins my videos so i leave the comments in now as i have got fed up revideoing....Steve

@@stephensuttonsteam2seestep289 Steve I have only ever used a plumbers flaring tool.....but no way does it give the nice flare that the plumbbob gave you.

Hello Jim i think its the weight of the plumbbob that helps with finish as i can use it as a burnisher as well as hitting it with a hammer 😂😂....Steve
