Dear David, I enjoyed the readings, but wonder how it is that the bars close so early back were you are from? Here we have after-hours, open 4:00AM, and then, 8:00AM one's regular haunt legally reopens, but I would suggest one get there about 8:30AM just in case the bartender arrives late. Non-stop, yes, one never has to worry about being home alone over the Holiday Season. Wonderful readings 5*****+
Simply terrific... Been sick, David. You lift the spirit.... Roy
he he in alaska it's "will you marry me? how big is your boat?" etc
floydstinkyboy: I usually quote Groucho Marx when I talk to the poetry reading widows: "Will you marry me? Did your husband leave you any money? Answer the second question first!" :P
that's great dave, nice camera angle. nice style. always amazed by your memory. mainly that it still functions, period! also i imagine that you could probably score a hot widow, or two, from among a crowd gathered for such a high class cultural event.
Brilliantly written and read, David. Love these live clips and being able to hear the audience laugh along with me! Robby:)
You know, David, it is great to hear a sequence of your poems together and live. It is like looking at an exhibition of familiar paintings like they were old friends (since I know a number of these already) but seeing them altogether in the same room throws up interesting juxtapositions. You have great stage presence and deserve larger audiences.
tinySpectacle: You seem familar... did I see you on one of IGrazor's videos... something about Santa... ? :P
healthyaddixion: Hmmm... without booze and bad relationships... I'd probably have to write about personal trainers :P -- but they are pretty cool -- (sometimes) :P
Great performance DRC, you are just so damn cool... Thanks for uploading this Dana - great to watch/listen. :)
I love hearing these poems live: good filming, Dana
oh my God David's got a hair cut!! ^_^..everyone loves David!!
Another great set (he said to the girl who would soon ruin his life).
Pamandymagic: Dang, ya got to this before I could send it to ya! Brat! :P
Some of DRC's best poems and an excellent performance too; a great way to return to TH-cam after a long hiatus. Thanks for uploading.
I saw the purgatory line coming, but it was still good! :-) hell/marriage LOL! A couple of these I've heard before, but they were good to hear again. :-)
Brilliant, David. You're getting really smooth at the old delivery!
PlayboyHerbie: Hey you! You know I'm starting my diet on the same day as you! Actually, I have to--because it's hard to be a starving artist with a double chin! :P
The master of poetic delivery :) I relished getting to hear the live audience's reaction to a few of my favourite of your poems ^^
Great, mate. Easy style had them laughing in the aisle!
delightful! thanks for sharing - good times!
i wish i could've seen the audience.... i'm envisioning a tightly wound woman in the 3rd row, 2nd seat....her manicured nails carving into her gucci bag as a bead of sweat rolls down the nape of her neck, moistening the chanel scarf she purchased for this very occasion. she shifts in her chair and clears her throat, stifling gasps with every fiber of her being. then, thinking the storm had finally passed, she hears the words....'lock jaw.' way to make 'em squirm DRC!
A great reading, my good friend. I've been enjoying your poetry for a long time, but one question is still bothering me about that... will you still respect me in the morning?
Someone once told me that Hell is being married to the wrong person. I'd second that, but I'd add the Right Person can change. And then there you are! Perdition, as a concept, is overrated; you can endure anything. Roy
you had them at hello David!!, very mesmerizing indeed!! brat!!
Absolutely delightful. The crowd was excellent too.
Largo: Thanks man... I did some stand up years ago... it was nerve racking but still eaiser than poetry! :P
Healthy: Thanks so much... you are always so nice... thank you! :P
Acid: Thanks for the kind remarks... I don't think I'll ever get through to him... he thinks the world is 6000 years old... quite literally.... he hasn't seen this, I told him I was on youtube and he said, "What's a youtube?" :P
Your argument with the neighbor is hilarious! How'd your neighbor like your poem? You out witted the neighbor! Sorry for his bad luck!
healthyaddixion hits it on the head! You are very witty, read well, and of course, are a great writer. It's great to see poetry getting all of this attention. It so deserves it! The audience loved you! Great work!
David is the Poet Laureate of TH-cam (or at least he should be), and he has the wit more standup comics SHOULD have. Thanks for posting this!
and a thanks from me as well, dana.
Thanks for posting this Dana! :P
Fantastic, thanks for uploading this. 5*/fav
Awesome performance... Better be wearin leather when you speak of Leonard Love It ! Thank You!! ; )
Either there is no audience or you had them spellbound! You have a great presence, glad you are able to share the limelight with Mone, too!
*5/fav I seriously need to see you perform live. Let me know when your tour kicks off!
janeczka: at the end of this night, she freaked me out and turned to me and asked me if I was and actor and told me I should do acting. I found out this place has a seperate reading weekly -- so I am hoping a different kind of crowd will be there....
Believe it or not, I heard her!!
janeczka: actually, it is weird what the microphone picks up... I had a friend tape this with my camera and he was more in the middle of the crowd so on that tape you hear more... on this tape you can hear the woman that runs this thing sigh when I say "trinity" -- this is a really conservative town I'm in...
*clap clap* The crowd didn't do your poems justice, David. Mone looks good, as usual!!
David your readings are really getting better every time. You are fantastic. I hope you'll sleep on my couch soon.
