TOP 10 European friendliest countries - or maybe not? (for 2024)
Europe is a very popular destination for immigrants, as we have already seen in this video. Thousands and thousands of people come to Europe, or move between European countries, in search of a more stable and better-paying job. However, we Europeans are not generally described as very friendly people, except for some exceptions that we will see in this video. In fact, today we will discover the 10 friendliest and most hospitable nations in Europe. This list was compiled by InterNations, the largest global expat network. In a previous video, we already looked at last year's ranking, while in this one we will look at the 2024 list. However, let's clarify that InterNations has not ranked all the countries in the world, but only the 53 countries from which they were able to obtain the most information from the 12,500 regular immigrants interviewed. And in the final bonus, we will also see which people are the friendliest in the world! Welcome to this new video of Amazing Europe titled "TOP 10 European friendliest countries - or maybe not? (for 2024)".

    Ive been to Rome, Venice and Paris last summer, and it certainly didn't feel like overcrowded. I'm brazilian, and if i go to a shopping mall nearby it's more full than these cities. The only attraction that had some queue was the St Peter's basilica in vatican, but it was super fast, 20 minutes of waiting at most. Not sure what europeans think as 'full', but city center of these 3 cities had quite some people but i never had to stay in lines/queues, or stop walking because there was too much people around me. Especially Venice, which was empty in 80% of the areas of the city, only in St Mark Square had some people, but still would walk around easily. These unique cities will never be fully empty. If you guys don't want even a moderate amount of people around you, in my opinion it's more on YOU.

    I understand the reasons for emigrating from many countries, but when someone moves out of heaven on earth, which is Croatia, then something is stinking. Rich capitalists buy our land, houses, apartments, hotels, they keep everything, banks, shopping centers, media, communications companies, they steal our country with their power and money which they don't want to give to Croatian workers for fair work, they import workers from east Asia for example Nepal who work for little money so our people must go out from this heaven on earth because in this heaven want to live rich capitalist from western Europe, they always wanted it, but what they couldn't with wars they do with money.Of course, some Croats live good, rich Croats who, unfortunatelly, mainly stealed that from factories in privatization. I am old school and of course that I don't like capitalism which destroy our nation.

    While tourism may be very helpful to a cities economy, the number of people that directly benefit from tourism is relatively small when compared to the inconvenience that mass tourism poses to the majority of residents. As mentioned, the average person can often no longer afford to live in the cities that their family may have lived in for generations, the cost of eating in restaurants, attending cultural events, shopping etc. is also less and less affordable to these people. Public transit is overcrowded and someone who needs to commute to work has a hard time of what is in most places an everyday task. Streets and tourist attractions are so crowded during the peak tourist seasons, that just merely trying to get from point A to point B becomes an ordeal. These situations make life for locals both inconvenient and often unpleasant. Then there’s the behaviour of many tourists. Not all, but many are loud, many come to these cities to have a raucous time, many are obnoxious, condescending , and rude …many have an attitude of entitlement . Many treat service employees rudely , and have an expectation that their every whim must be accommodated. Many feel free to complain and be insulting regarding any and all things , including local culture, customs, food , habits, standards of behaviour. They expect to be treated in a way they are accustomed at home, disregarding the fact that they are in someone else’s home. Honestly, I’ve been on vacations in many places around the world, and been embarrassed by the behaviour of other tourists. If I were a resident of one of there cities overrun by tourists, I’d probably be resentful of their mass presence and might not be on my best behaviour towards the more objectionable ones.

    • @AmazingEuropeChannel
      @AmazingEuropeChannel 7 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hi! As we mentioned in the video, our source was the Credit Suisse report, which is a highly reputable source. Remember that we're talking about median wealth. When a country has a higher median wealth than another, it doesn't necessarily mean that its inhabitants are economically better off (even though median wealth is a more accurate measure than average wealth). In fact, to get a more complete picture of the situation, you should watch this video together with others we've made (or will make), such as the one on the 10 countries with the highest cost of living relative to average salary, or the one on the 10 nations with the greatest inequality between rich and poor. Also, as we said in the video, remember that median wealth takes into account not only how much money you have in the bank, but also your property. If a country has lower salaries than another, but many more of its inhabitants own a home (instead of renting), the median wealth of the country with lower salaries can actually be higher. And in fact, in some cases, this is exactly what happens. Have a great day! 😊

      Hey everyone! Like we said in the video, we got our info from the Credit Suisse report, so it's pretty reliable. Remember, we're talking about median wealth here. Just because a country has a higher median wealth doesn't mean people are automatically better off (even though it's a better measure than average wealth). To get the whole picture, you should check out our other videos, like the one on the 10 most expensive places to live and the one on income inequality. Also, median wealth isn't just about how much cash you have; it includes things like your house. So, a country with lower salaries but more homeowners might actually have higher median wealth. And it does happen! Have a nice day! 😊

As per your definition spain is the richest of these countries, while I notice that average people are clearly poorer and cannot efford what is standard in austria and germany. The prices are lower, the income is lower. It may be economicly growing quicker actual, but also this is possible, because it comes from a much lower level.

      Hi! You're absolutely right! In fact, when a country has a higher median wealth than another, it doesn't necessarily mean that its inhabitants are economically better off (although median wealth is a more accurate measure than average wealth). To get a more complete picture, you should watch this video in conjunction with others we've produced (or will produce), such as the one on the 10 countries with the highest cost of living relative to average salary, or the one on the 10 nations with the greatest wealth inequality. Additionally, as we highlighted in the video, median wealth encompasses not only bank accounts but also property ownership. If a country has lower salaries but a higher homeownership rate, its median wealth can be higher. And indeed, this is the case in some instances. Have a great day! 😊

      @@AmazingEuropeChannelWhat you say is absolutely right. For example, home ownership in Spain (79.2%) is almost twice as high as in poor Germany (42.1%) according to Eurostat.

    What bothers me is that these countries rely on US military protection and not pay for it. We, in the US, carry the cost of that protection and get blamed for all evil in this world. Weird! I think a change in that thinking is needed. In absence of the US, Russia would love to drain their wealth like Soviet Russia did. Look at the GDP of all countries under Russian influence. Name one doing well.

      Hi! It's important to remember that we're discussing median wealth. When a country's median wealth is higher than another's, it doesn't necessarily signify a better economic situation for its inhabitants (although median wealth is a more accurate measure than average wealth). In fact, for a more comprehensive understanding, this video should be viewed alongside others we've produced (or will produce), such as the one on the 10 countries with the highest cost of living relative to average salary, or the one on the 10 nations with the greatest wealth inequality. Median number is an idiotic way of measuring and displaying wealthy of anything. Bulgarian median is higher than Polish 😂😂😂 etc ...They should show wealth if the top 5 percent of people in the country. Ukraine would be in top 5😂😂😂😂.

    👍 but obviously you have not included the dwarf states of Liechtenstein, Monaco and San Marino in the ranking, otherwise some of the top positions would have changed considerably.

      Hi! That's an excellent question indeed! Part of the answer (we repeat: only part of the answer) can be found in the videos we've dedicated to why some European countries are not part of the European Union (where we also discuss Iceland) and in the video about the 10 European countries with the most millionaires. Have a great day! 😊
