What is the Witness Stand?
The “Witness Stand” is an advocacy and storytelling project by the @pisfcc (Pacific Islands Students Fighting Climate Change), in collaboration with @notjustcelsius (Not Justice Celsius) and The World's Youth For Climate Justice.
Stories from the frontlines of the climate crisis need a platform, they must be listened to by the world and most importantly: By the judges of the International Court of Justice.
Climate change is real and we need #climatejusticenow.

Thank you Kjelld for sharing your unique story and perspective on the progressing crisis and for representing the people of Bonaire, who are still not heard enough (especially in the court room!). These still existing colonial ties highlight the ongoing inequalities and power imbalances that continue to affect the voices and rights of the people of Bonaire and of many other so called territories. We need to ensure that the voices of those most marginalized and vulnerable are amplified and respected in both local and international decision-making processes.
