times change, 20 years ago it was a fantastic place to live, a lot of London is now unlivable, its like a war zone ! We left, so glad we did !!!!! Its another Anti British zone, sickening !

This site is in the Stamford Hill Action Plan. The suggestion for this site there is to redevelop with 61 residential units and commercial/public space. It recommends 5 storeys to the front and 5-7 at the rear. So you can expect another shop here eventually.

Not good very little warning and sounds like a lot of secrecy around it closing. Was in there in January and over Christmas a decent shop location with parking .

What a depressing hole

Hi Japa Interesting video. I occasionally use Sainsbury’s in Farnham as it has a Argos store inside. For the amount you spent I feel confident that you would have got more items for your money at shops like Lidl Iceland to name a few. I like Sainsbury’s but they are expensive. Being a family man I can appreciate that you cater for your family and not just yourself unlike myself.

There used to be a guy like this in Penge High St outside Sainsburys almost all day, every day. He had the typical shambling gait, the typical punished-looking hangdog expression, the same pained way of speaking and the almost obligatory staffie..."Gaw bless yer, mate. Gaw bless..." Turned out he had a two-bedroom flat supplied by the local authorities and was on every benefit you could shake a stick at. He made a pariah of himself to his neighbours by playing a powerful stereo system at all hours of the day or night. Neither sobriety nor work ethic were his strong suits. Among the genuine cases there's a lot a fakes...

You picked a bad day for your walk. Saturday morning during the summer is the best day as they are all out with the fox fur hats, black silk frock coats and white silk stockings. Golders Green is the same but you just mostly get the black trilby hats and black suits. The kipa wearing Jews in Harrow are noteable on Saturday for wearing runners with the suits as there is some prohibition on wearing leather going to the synagogue. The synagogue in St John’s Wood is the one where the wealthiest Jews in London go. It’s very upper class.
