I like RC tanks. Here’s a couple videos my messing around with them. If you have any questions on what I did or what I used, give me a shout.
Henglong 1/8 Scale Abrams FPV and Gun Smoke
I worked from dawn to dusk on this. I'm really happy with it. I removed the sound from the video because the mic was picking up a lot of noise. I'll figure that out another day.

Henglong 1/8 Scale Abrams Breakdown
มุมมอง 2814 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา
This is a short slide show of me working through how to open up the Henglong 1/8 scale Abrams tank. You might need to pause to read my comments on some of the pictures. I couldn’t figure out how to lengthen the duration of the slide show on the app I was using on my phone. To be clear, there were no instructions or schematics included with the tank, and nothing to be found online. Their custome...
1/8 Scale Abrams, Putting It To The Test
มุมมอง 1.4K21 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา
So I finally got some time today to take it out. Went down to the park and ran it around a bit. Tried to go over a rock bed with big 8”-12” rocks. It ended up getting stuck on something right away. Was disappointing but understandable. If a big rock gets wedged underneath the hull, not much you can do. Next I drive it around over mulch, euonymus, and smaller rock beds that would’ve given the 1/...

So I pulled the trigger on Henglong’s 1/8 scale Abrams late September and it finally arrived today. Looking at the exterior, it’s basically just a scaled up version of their 1/16 model. Same aesthetic choices, although the handles are actual handles and not molded out of the hull. Some of the hatches on the back of the hull open on this, where they do not on the 1/16 model. On the turret, the d...

What a catastrophic mess they made out of one of the most iconic industrial art masterpieces Destroyed it.
Interesting showacse, sad that they dont provide a user manuel, thats often the problem chinas made product, i buy a lot from aliexpress, and do miss it always.
The smoke effect is new.
Aboute time for new footage.
Mostly alloy easy broken.
You run the tank like a crawler and run down some stairs.
@@warshipalbum can you elaborate on your alloy comment? Would like to know more.
@@KYTANKGUY Play it softly.
@@KYTANKGUY Aluminium is just weak, its cool but just a toy, more a functinal modell. I build my whit 2mm steal, a 125cc engine, weld it all together etc. My wie weight aboute 100 - 120 kg, be 1,20 m long, 60cm wide, 70cm high. I thing youre small modell is just the start for a much bigger project.
Being looked after now,
Amazing! Just curious about how sturdy it is - no damage after all of that rough driving?
@@diverspudph I did make one of the tracks slip the drive sprocket, so I’ve got to fix that. Couple of paint scapes. That’s about it.
Thanks for responding!
I wish Heng Long had an Easy 8 model!
@@DaytonDempsey-x3z YES! Would be nice if someone besides Hooben and Tamiya made one. I’d even take a m4a3 upgrade kit to turn it into an e8.
Any different with 1/16? What’s the price?
@ Besides the size and being all metal, there are surprisingly few differences. -the commanders cupola rotates, but the CITV does not -there are some hatches on the back of the chassis that open with the 1/8 that do not with the 1/16 -I believe the drivers hatch opens, but it feels stuck. -all of the handles are actual handles and not molded out of the chassis or turret -the gunners sight doors open and close Just about everything else is the same, but you know all metal, and heavy. Same mistime recoil, same not great sound set, exact same transmitter. The Airsoft gun uses 9mm pellets, which I can’t seem to find anywhere else, and also the range actually seems a little worse than the 1/16 models. I wonder if they used the exact same plunger system that’s in the 1/16, now it’s trying to push a 9mm ball instead of a 6mm ball, so the range isn’t great. I’ll find that out soon. Because it’s all metal, the tow points can actually be used to tow stuff.
@ thanks for answering, I’ll love to have one when it selling in my country . Believe that BIG SCALE BIG REALISTIC.
Американцы такие танки испоганили
that's a pretty great early christmas gift you have there.
God damn bro that thing is sick. I have a few 1/16 heng longs and I've been eyeballing the 1/8 tiger for a while now and this one is even more expensive. My question though is do you really feel satisfied with it and think the money was well spent? I'm just going back and forth on biting the bullet.
@@keith91z28 So I really love the Abrams, and I think because of this I am happy. However there are some issues I wish they could have fixed. -range on the Airsoft gun is lacking compared to some 1/16 models -sound set is the same from 1/16, which is incorrect to begin with -they made the commanders cupola rotate, which is cool, but not the CITV, which is weird because on the modern variants of the tank the cupola is now welded in place while the CITV rotates 360° -barrel recoil timing is incorrect just like the 1/16 models. Also the barrel recoils into itself instead of the manlet, just like the 1/16 HL Abrams. -the antenna on the turret are pretty poorly made. -no glass in any of the the periscopes -no cupola machine guns, spare parts, turret generator, or combat ID panels -for the price it would’ve been nice if they had included an option to be able to use your own 8 channel receiver/transmitter instead of the standard HL transmitter. All this being said, I cannot deny how cool having a 130 lb full metal Abrams is. Pictures and video do not do the scale justice. Also there are tons of WWII 1:6 models out there by ArmorTek, and they have done some early Leopard variants, but no one else out there is doing an Abrams in 1/8 or 1/6 scale right now, so this is pretty much your only choice unless you design it yourself. A lot of the above issues I can fix, it’s just for the price I feel like I shouldn’t have to. Something to consider between the their Abrams and their Tiger I with respect to speed. Their 1/8 Tiger I used a 24v battery, the 1/8 Abrams uses a 36v. Their 1/6 Tiger also uses a 36v, but also weighs 88 pounds more than the 1/8 Abrams, so their Abrams is probably their fastest model, which I clocked today at 4.94 MPH. If you have a need for speed.
Do you have a link for it?
@@DigiDarkness www.henglongtanks.com/products/hl-1-8-fullmetalm1a2-spf5
I can't see it like a 1:8 tank . Can you compare with a 1:16 tank ?
@@warshipalbum I actually have their 1/16 scale Abrams, but it’s in pieces right now awaiting detailing and paint. I’m not sure if there’s a way to update a video on TH-cam with a picture. I’ll put a picture of a 1/16 scale tank in with the next video I post of it. Pictures and video don’t really convey the size of this tank accurately, it’s seems huge in person.
You can get a sense of its size within the first minute. Look at how big it is compared to that park bench. And you can just visualize a person sitting on that bench and see how large the tank is.
Oh. It is all metal and expensive. I think is special order .
@@warshipalbum @ Yes, I ordered it late September, Shipped via boat mid October, and arrived December 19th. It was a long wait.
@@KYTANKGUY You are a rich rich man . Excellent
That sounds like a diesel not a turbine...
@@old12bravo23 Yeah the sound set is wrong, I think it’s for a Leopard. There might be a way to switch it to a turbine sound set using the remote, but I haven’t gotten around to it yet. But also, if you could do that, you think they would’ve done that before they shipped it? We will see.
@@old12bravo23 So it did have the option to switch between Leopard 2A6 and M1A2, but it still doesn’t sound right to me. I have the HL 1/16 Abrams with a better MFU in it that has a proper M1A2 sound set, the HL does not sound like that.
Heng Long new scale?
@@warshipalbum Relatively new? It came with a Henglong advertisement book that described this model as “Coming Soon”. So new enough that they haven’t redone their catalogue? They do a 1/8 Tiger I and a 1/6 Tiger I as well.
@KYTANKGUY Thanks
Thanks for capturing all the angles and some close ups. Original paint...wow. I love all variants of the StuG.
It's amazing to see the interior of the Panther Tank
The only Tiger II in North America. Looks like they did a fair amount of work on it . Tha armor thicknesses are very apparent
Very nice

New subscriber. I work on post and go to these open houses as often as possible. I love those displays. Tons of history all in one building. Thanks for sharing.
Ft. Benning. Impressive museum.
This Konigstiger belonged to Pz.Abt.501 and was captured on December 24th, 1944, by the US Army's 740th Tank Bn. during the Battle of the Bulge. It was later sent to APG for analysis and testing. it was mostly on outdoor display until it was relocated to Ft. Know, Ky, where they tank's turret was cut open for display (sigh...) before it was relocated a second time to its current home at Ft. Moore (Ft. Benning) Ga.
81 Tons of American Badassery. Love it.
0:06 James T Kirk in the background calling for a beam.
I still can't believe the turret itself weighs as much as the Bradly
new m1a2?!
that neck is huge
Guess I'll have to make it down here. Only time I've seen a T28 in person was from a bus in Ft Benning. I heard they recovered and refurbished it from the rust, and now I know where it rests.
Thanks for posting this
Excellent tank but the Panther was better
I would think the snail would like this
Aberdeen Proving Grounds gave 😊 the Tiger I back to Germany for their tank museum years ago. For the cost of properly restoring the Tiger II , perhaps it would wiser to do the same thing with the Tiger II. Especially with the amount of AFVs from both Aberdeen Proving Grounds and the former Patton Museum awaiting restoration. 9:02
@@William-l7z Nah, it’s a big draw. I could hear people stopping there talk about it with whoever they were with, unlike a lot of the other tanks. For good or ill, I think there’s something iconic about this tank. Are there any other museums in America that have one? Speaking of restoring, they were in the middle of restoring a Jagdpanther in one of the garages near the museum. They were restoring it when I was there last in September 2023 too. At least it had moved from one garage to another in a years time.
Okay that's sick 🔥
Nice dude

I found a russian guy who dit test my receiver, the older version. Here you can see how the temps wokr by him. th-cam.com/video/eokdJBOes3s/w-d-xo.html
You can upgrade youre screen whit a 10.1" Zoll HD 1080P LCD car Monitor 1080P CCTV HDMI/BNC/AV/VGA whit Speaker. Those cost 50€, i dit bought it for my control setup. Those googles are to expensive, and have bad Video Quality for my standard.
Greetings. I do have an cheaper / older version of the Foxeer Reaper whit 5 Watts. The hight tempertures are from the small antenna. It does not have enough material to shine the power around, so the reciever built it up and resisst it from it self. You need to make it from the 5W to the 1W, and of course bigger antennas. But even whit that it can get hot, because walls can reflect the Signal, again cousing resistance, building up heat. I plan to watercool my reciver, in my RC tank, whit a Honda 125cc clone pit bike engin.
So there are three 3 way switches for the cameras. One that switches between the three cameras in the drivers seat, one that switches between the two gunners main sight cameras and the gunners aux sight, and one that switches between the drivers position, the gunners position, and the CITV camera. That latter 3 way switch is connected to a single analog video transmitter (VTX) that broadcasts the signal via and antenna mounted on the back of the turret to a video receiver (VRX) in either my FPV goggles or my viewer (basically a little TV screen with a VRX in it).
Hi you dit use on one Video a FPV Receiver from Foxeer on youre RC Tank. Can you make a video pls showing it ? I do have the Foxeer Reaper Infinity V2 (Version 2 ) 5W VTx. But i cant change the PIT Mode or the Out put power of 1 Watt. The signal is realy bad, not even 2 meters are working whit that reciever of Foxeer. My cheaper standard one RC832 makes no problem. Is there something i do wrong ? I dit read and do as the manuel told, but it always restards after trying to change the out put power.
whoa, there's even a bit of smoke coming out. this is hella impressive
Hey this is awesome! How did you mange to connect all the FPVs and be able to switch between them? Are they connected to an app on your phone or some other device?
Yeah he hase extreme 7 cameras installed, he atleast needs 3 switchers to manage that, or he dit build hes own model.
