Rossini is brilliant

Where'd the castanets suddenly come from? This production has been kicking around since the 80's (Abbado Pesaro '84/Vienna '88); it's held up well. Rossini and Wagner are the twin pillars the operatic firmament rests upon. I only regret really delving into him so late in life.

I love this opera it is so funny and wild. Rossini at his most theatrical really. This production has evolved over decades since the 1980’s with upgrades re stagings and various lighting over the years.

I never knew Rossini introduced in his opera The National Anthem of England God Save The Queen at 7:08! So Majestic interpreted!

Best part of the opera...also Countess Folleville's Act I aria "partir o ciel desio". Annick Massis is my favorite of the cast. They lost the horses and couldn't go to the king's coronation, but you can hear the horses in Rossini's genius music. I just watched the complete opera on medici tv. Fantastic production! Thanks for uploading this clip.

Bravo complimenti. Mi piace l'abbinamento con le patate. Se mi posso permettere arriva troppa musica. In fondo chi cerca un idea per cucinare ha bisogno di concentrare l'attenzione sul piatto e su quello che il cuoco dice. La musica, molto bella, ma andrebbe tenuta più bassa rispetto al tuo audio. Tanto il titolo ce l'abbiamo 😉
