man oh man what a show this track put on in both series. cars so evenly matched. THANK YOU AS ALWAYS
the sound if off about 5-8 seconds again lol.
Did i hear the name Ted Dolhoun? Thats a driver i used to watch racce Late Model dirt at Hales Corners, Slinger,Cedarburg and The Milwaukee Mile in the 70s. It seems there is always a driver from my SE Wisconsin area racing the early season Florida races. Pete Parker actually WON the big feature down there somehow lol. Schlepper, Mars, Scheffler others that gave it a shot.
Dave Reutiman in the limiteds kinda took me by surprise
I believe 89’ represented the best looking race cars since the Mustangs Camaros, Firebirds of the mid 70s….and every body style since. Eye candy for sure, id rather watch these cars rockin the dirt than the bleh rides of the present era.
Holy CRAP i wasnt expecting THAT finish! I LIKE IT!
Sound track off by 7-8 seconds😮
@@5jr.racing982 I realized that after uploading. Will have to look at a way to fix.
@@cleetusincyep seperated by a full straightaway😁
I have yet to see ANY of these care actually slide through the turns, and they don't even sound fast to me. ( CARS, not care).
The last great body style.
You have a great collection
What year was this
always always 1 heat race that is overloaded with talent and would make a fine feature anywhere in these big races. this time its heat#4. Knowles…Moran…Francis…Moore…Hitt…Purvis…Ronnie Johnson…3 move to feature
Some guy, hometown unknown, qualified in white car #17. Michael McDowell i think they said his name was.
Gibbons qualification is the hardest hit ive ever seen in late models of this kind. A full second of OOOH NOOOOOO followed by the most damage ive seen on a related track. WOW.
happiness is watching Gateway action on you tube then PRESTO up pops 89’ WDTC! Jeff friggin Purvis time. That surprised me, thought he was done after 88’. Love the announcer that sounds just like the man that warned planet earth that an Alien ship has landed in an old 50s sci fi flick or 3.
You know, there isn't much difference in these late models and late models these days in 2024. Maybe a few, but not many I think.
Classic crying Chub
Do you have any videos of the modifieds from the late 90's early 2000? I worked for Danny Dean those years and would love to see the videos if possible.
Nice facility. Asshole city council didn’t want it. Nothing left but memories now.
it looks pretty sweet, yes. was it drawing?
Do you see me on the top of Chubs hauler Lockwich? Lamest race ever.
if the track is the same for the a and b mains as it was the night before…..i would start at the back and drive slooooow. cant imagine anyone surviving 100 laps at the baja
some loooooong heat races. heat 4 has to be some kind of record, just insane who did what there
Can someone spell the name of the driver in heat 3 that gave Balzano and Birkhoferball they could handle and won the heat? Duane Hamel? Hable? black car, never heard of him, beat a star studded lineup.
NO THAT IS RACING! legitamate FOUR WIDES aaaall niiight loong! Was this track always this racy in this configuration? They were putting those rides EVERYWHERE and not losing time for the most part. DAVE BLANEY jumping into an opening and making it FOUR WIDE for position….damn. TOP 5 videos on you tube as far as ACTION goes. THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS i hope and pray you have many more from this track!
Mr. Gallagher and Slow ride are new to me and i have watched a ton of videos. Hopefully ill see much much more of these 2, both are IMPRESSIVE here.

is that Max Blairs dad out there?
watching this resulted in me pausing race and looking up McCredie. was this his first year in the supers? was he woo in 04’. i hope so, the man, as this video CLEARLY shows….a natural talent. hoooly SMOKES.
nice facilities. still in operation?
I tried reaching out to you to join a Facebook group. You deleted my comment. Its okay I'm not mad. I shared this video to the group and it got 34 link hits and a bunch of likes.

If Dennis Erb Jr. showed up by god thats good enough for my full attention and this race must have been the top value race in US that weekend.
Let's go racin.....🏁🏁🏁
been awhile since I saw that one..thanks!
How can something from the 2000's be 24 years old already? Time is just flying by.
Here we go....🏁🏁🏁
Here we go WOOs....🏁🏁🏁
I remember watching this race thinking WTH! Why do you throw a debris caution when they're coming for the checkers and it looked like Dave led the white flag lap too, how did Andrews get the lead on the restart? Johnson had this one won and got a pretty raw deal IMHO. Great race though and great driving by both! Looking back at the video, Todd may have nipped him at the flag stand for the white flag I guess. I'm pretty sure we had transponders. Not what i saw watching the race live!!! Sucked, but that's racing! Thanks for posting all these old videos! So many great memories! I worked with 1J for many years.
@@Lumpster174 yes my thoughts when watching it also no reason to throw a debris caution when they are coming to the checkered flag.
Love the videos! Got any of when it was .5 mile? Went there every weekend.
Another exciting race in the books..🏁🏁🏁
Here we go again~🏁🏁🏁
That was an exciting race!...🏁🏁🏁
all of them, both series. great track, great show
Thanks so much for posting these videos! It brings back a lot of memories.Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.

does this dreamscape of a track still run em’ ?
Challenger closed in 2009
@ where was it located, cant find it on any maps 😕.
@ a shame. love everything about it
so Billy Drake drove all that way and won a Stars event. and hes back for more
Classic Flinner
youre simple reply is something i havent been able to get out of my head. I recognize Flinner name as still going strong in 2024. Anyhow im someone who is 61 and retired after runnin’ cncs for 10-16 hours a day for decades as the world changed around me. I grew up a fan of stock car racing of all sorts and my dad ran late models at local Milwaukee Wi. area tracks in the 70s into early 80s. The stock cars turned into something we werent interested in at the time as i became fully grown and my personal interests went where typical 18-22 years do lol and the local tracks disappeared as did usac stock car series. Anyhow fast foward to the year 2014 and i caught a race in the middle of the night at Lernerville…i was hooked. I had NO IDEA what i had been missing all of these years and i suppose thats a good thing as i get to see over 40 years of dirt late models action and its amazing AMAZING history. Anyhow….if you are still with me here… youre comment tells me that you have a good working knowledge of the history of Stars races from the era and im looking for someone to ask questions too, everything from track locations for tracks like this that, sadly, dont show up on a map to inner workings of various rides to……man…all kinds of questions. Is there any biographies out there that you know of that take me along for the ride with any of these efforts that you are aware of? is there a book of statistics…. especially from the area these folks come from…that i can get my hands on? i dont care how far back it goes as Wearing sr. vs Benning sr. holds just as much interest to me. If im just annoying you here can you recommend me to someone that (quite rightly so) cherishes these amazing lives lived and has the time to answer my endless questions? What im watching right here….this group of racers….i believe that they succeeded in presenting the best, most COMPETITIVE, most consistently enteraining racing over a looooong period of time and there was more TOP LEVEL TALENT than any other area in the country. thank you for reading this if you made it this far..
@@MrChristopherHaas TLDR
look at that crowd. nice turnout. THANKS FOR THE POST AS ALWAYS. keep.them. coming.
Weird to hear a Mark Richards built Bullitt chassis
surprised to see that # 75 Chrysler in 88’. didnt know he ran it for that many years.
TWO WIDE! right off the bat. ive watched hours aaaand hours of Pennsboro and NEVER saw em run broadside side by side lap after lap like they did in the quick 6.
