For overweight, how can you tell if you’re curve is “natural” or it’s just stubborn fat deposits

I thought I was a Soft Autumn for quite a while because my hair takes on warm tones in the summer, even though my skin and other features are mostly neutral. However, I eventually realized that cool tones suit me better, so I guess I’m actually a Soft Summer. Until today, I wasn’t entirely sure about this, but seeing you among the Soft Autumn examples really helped me. You seem to fit there perfectly! Interestingly, I initially thought you might be a Soft Summer because of your hair color, which looks rather cool-toned to me. It just goes to show that hair color might not be the most important feature after all! Thank you so much ☺

I related to moderate and rounded. My top half is rounded definitely. But my hips are more moderate, butt is rounded.

I think my Kibbe ID would be some kind of a Classic because my ribcage and shoulders are on the narrow side, yet I definitely resonate with the "sausage" when I wear skin-thight clothes and I look larger. Some space between the body and the fabric looks best on almost everyone! There's nothing better than embracing and enhancing our natural shapes! 🎉❤

Me still not able to tell if I'm a light spring or a light summer. Starting to think I'm firmly between the two and all depends on if I've got a tan or not. Leaning towards a light spring cuz of coral/peach. One of my best colours to wear. and I do tend to reach for the slightly warmer light pinks and purples.

Can confirm as a tall soft dramatic, forget the thin heels. They will NEVER survive. They just don’t make off the shelf shoes for women who are heavier. My skinny weight, is over weight for shorter women. 😂 Wedges and platforms for added length for life!

It's so weird you didn't think A line dresses/skirts especially wrap dresses are better for romantics. Wrap dresses are amazing in that they can define the waist and accomidate the curves so well . They work 10 times better than belted dresses (unless the belt is the same color as the outfit). And the V neckline and v in the skirt wrapping help elongate our short and curvy bodies bringing a lot of balance.

Mylene-is it possible to be between 2 of these hip types? I think I fall between soft muscular and soft moderate. I believe I’m a soft natural in Kibbe, but lean more moderate on that spectrum.

I like how you broke these down! To piggy back off the other comment, it would be cool and I think helpful for people if you could then explain which kibbe body IDs would fit into each of these categories ❤ (sorry if you were already planning on doing this)

Tough one for me: I have long narrow bones and even after giving birth my body is still largely ropes of muscle from my years in dance. But I've had strong --double-- curve since at least puberty, so I give off this Jessica Rabbit/femme fatale energy even when I'm not trying. I note that one of my best looks is the wrap effect I get in my bathrobe, and draped styles similarly honor my lines more than stiff tailoring does; my main problem is that most (reasonably ethical) clothing lines that answer my needs and wants are on the pricey side. So there's that.

How does this work with body type? I think I am a flamboyant gamine, but my hips do have some curve even though the rest of me barely has any haha.

Thank you for acknowledging all curves even on petite women rather than only acknowledging "slim thick" or plus size curvy! Everyone has a curve of their own!

I'm also a glasses wearer, so I appreciate this video. With my eyesight prescriptions for contacts are tricky, and I have a phobia of small objects too close to my eyeballs, so glasses it is. The main sticking point: My face shape (heart) means I can wear a reasonable variety of shapes and frames, but fitting them can be an exercise in patience. I'm a Dark Autumn; dark tortoiseshell is a default go-to. As far as body type and essences: If it looks at home on Sophia Loren I will probably steal the look and buy it in a color that suits me. Again, great video!

I'm a romantic. Hourglass figure, not a straight line on my body 😅 5ft 1 and very busty. Really hard to find clothes to accommodate the extreme proportional difference between bust, waist and hips.

Thank you for acknowledging that some women with an hourglass can still be self conscious about their tummies! For years I would never tuck my shirts in-not even when I was wearing a skirt-because I was so self-conscious of my lower tummy pooch (below my natural waistline). I’ve only recently begun tucking my shirts into high-waist pants and wearing belts and the difference it has made in my silhouette amazes me. I instantly feel so much more glamorous. I do find it easier with dresses to get a high waistline that hits my natural waist. Pants never go quite high enough so the effect is more like what I imagine soft classics or soft naturals have, but since tucking is encouraged for them I figure I’m still good

I have that fleshy look, but my bust is very small. I am definitely more of a pear than hourglass shape. Could a soft natural still have that type of proportion? Edit: oh no, as soon as you described the coats I felt like I can’t be this type at all 😅

Thank you for this video. For the longest time I thought I was a soft natural but I had these stupid sloping shoulders and as I gained weight in my 30s, my body became more rounded with a belly. I've always been tall 5'10" with broad shoulders and short torso/long legs but non of the other kibble types could explain the fleshiness and roundness of my body. This video helped show things I resonated with like emphasizing the waist and fluffy sweaters work well on me.

Good video! I’ve learned to love my body much more since understanding I am a romantic. Not fighting the roundness everywhere is so helpful.

Would love a video on how to accomodate juxtoposing Kibbe/Essence! For example a Dramatic Kibbe body type with Romantic Essence. How to incorporate "opposite" recommendations.

Because of my shoulders i am not a romantic. Too wide shoulders makes me a softnatural.
