I have to confess that I had great respect for John Connor as a mature young man in this show. At that age, under those circumstances my heart would have been beating so hard you could see my chest heaving from 10 feet away. That moment of silence before Cameron suggests they leave is so unbelievably intense, it was worth it even if that's how it ended. Powerful scene.
