So many footpaths on this guided tour. I got some nice memories from my childhood as you where walking into the field where the hay is @14:45 . I remember a neighbour having this big barns where we used to jump from the roof seelings into the hay. 😄 . Wonderful walk as always and hope your upcoming weekend will be warm and fun.
@@pekinobo I can almost feel the joy from those memories you describe, wonderful times I'm sure .... have a nice weekend 👍🏻
Very good. Thanks, mate.
Very relaxing to watch. The BEAUTIFUL British landscape is varied and fruitful. Thanks for NOT filling yr vids w needless chatter. All in all, MWNN, new sub here. K U T G W.
@@jonny-d5v British Countryside... Best in the world 👍🏻👊🏻💪🏻
Very enjoyable. I think that last field you crossed was planted with beans and given the how the plants look when in flower it would have been very easy on the eye earlier in the season. That is if they were the variety of Broad Bean outrageously named "One Mother Hen". Thanks for posting. th-cam.com/users/postUgkx4bD3UNZZfv83gXbCfL_i-PO3GIWAkNXL
@GB-bm9fe most of what's planted in fields is a mystery to me, if it's not corn, Rapeseed or grass I'm clueless 😂
There is a small mining village near Barnsley called great Houghton. That also has a village next to it called little Houghton. Wonder which one was established first.
@Thedukes1984 that's very interesting, I will have a look on Google maps... Cheers Dukes of Hazzard 😉
Lovely looking church and the tower seemingly as if it was carved out from a gigantic rock of sort with the left side of it. Hope your new week have started great.
@pekinobo you know what I hadn't really noticed that, and upon looking back at the video I see what you mean 👍🏻
Love that church. Another Northamptonshire gem. Thanks for posting.
@@GB-bm9fe I've gotta start making a list of the churches I've been to but couldn't get inside, getting too many to remember now , looking forward to seeing the inside of this one 👍🏻
Love will Hay films. 3 them together comdy gold
Those lovely sheeps, so much innocence in their souls and.. "put foots down in poop..."
I'm surprised that your all singing, all dancing camera phone doesn't have sheep shit radar😀😀. Maybe it will feature in the next model. The unaccustomed early hour of posting was a great start to my day and after my customary pleasure in the watching I was left with a sense of anticipation of tomorrows video. It left me wondering if the beautiful village pond is still a feature or if it has been filled in to construct a skateboard park or some other "improvement". Thanks for posting. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxrcp0Wtku5ilH7l93sK0oC43AJA7I06Jx
😂😂 well I hope they invent that radar soon 😂😂 ........ the early upload is because I woke early and couldn't get back to sleep, and I discovered that when my phone is next to my bed it seems to have a much better signal than anywhere else in the house and uploads much quicker, so I just decided to do it then .... glad you liked the walk ... and yes ..in the next video I do take a Detour and visit the duck pond and the church 🙂 glad you're still watching and commenting, I like your input 👍🏻💪🏻👊🏻
Ps the church was locked so couldn't go in😢
The field alongside the Horton road was a ww2 satellite airfield for Sywell you can still see concrete taxi roads my pap was stationed there for a bit. Also now they have point to point racing there once a year
@@robertperkin9707 so is that the field i was in or the other side of the road?
@ where the tote caravan was if you walk along main road be careful! You will see part of the perimeter taxi way there used to be a pill box further down but I think that’s gone now .
I want to appologize for not knowing enough. But I have noticed a couple of times during your videos when you zoom in, the sound also seems to increase. Is that "possible"? As for this video @24:55 and a few seconds. Sometimes my mind went "I am just imagine this, surely..." I understand the picture can be zoomed and all that, but the sound also can increase? Either way, I appriciate these guided tours and your passion to show these places. Hope your weekend been great and that your upcoming new week will be awesome too.
@pekinobo yes you are correct, GB mentioned this a few months ago as he was curious about it also, the sound does increase when I zoom in, you are not imagining it 🙂 its very clever, .... have a good Sunday 👍🏻
7:41 Looks like Barley. Thanks for posting.
Thanks GB, Either way it's a Joy to see and walk among the beautiful fields 🙂
Thank goodness for will hay marriott and moffat ❤❤❤😂😂😂

@GB-bm9fe I didn't think about it like that 🫢🤔 I'm sure it'll be fine ... I thought it was funny, sat enjoying my lunch and the beautiful scenery then mr and mrs Horsey decide to put on some entertainment 😂

The magic of colors. The view @6:00 the green field and nearby the "brownish".
@pekinobo colours can be very powerful, certain colours when put together side by side can do all kinds of things to the human brain, and help with mood and stuff like that 👍🏻
@@TheManWithNoName. *Colours.. I spell it wrong 50% of the time ^o^; . Thank you for understanding it how badly I spell all the time.
@pekinobo you spelt it the American Way, here in Good Ole England we spell it "Colour" ... but it dosent matter to me how you want to spell it, as long as I know what you mean 👍🏻
@@TheManWithNoName. Might have been that I was thinking about the Sean Penn and Robert Duvall movie Colors and just spelled it as I did. Sometimes when I speak with random people I know I mix english and american english. However most of them understand me, some people are polite, just as you.
@pekinobo i know of that film but have never watched it ....... yeah some people feel the need to correct other people's spelling but it matters not to me 👍🏻💪🏻👊🏻
How did you even get access to the bridge? Because on the roundabout they put barriers so no pedestrians cannot go through
@gavinderbal884 carried my bike and climbed over a fence on the Harlestone Firs side ..... that guy that's jogging in the video must of climbed over the fence on the other end
👍👍 Thanks for posting.
@GB-bm9fe told you there was a Piddington video popping up soon didn't I, my favourite church I've visited so far 🙂👊🏻👍🏻💪🏻
Many thanks for yet another guided tour.
👍👍What a gift the footpath network is. Thanks for posting
@GB-bm9fe the Footpaths in this area are for the most part absolutely fantastic, a joy to walk
Nice.❤
Lovely walk and the neighbourhood (spelling??) as you walk past Lime farm way @16:41 seems really nice and is probably a rich place - meaning the houses are quite expensive. Hope your upcoming weekend will be great and fun.
@pekinobo to be fair that street didn't particularly stand out from the others in my opinion, I didnt pay much attention to it, but yes I'm sure most houses are expensive out in these villages, cause everyone would love to live in a village 👍🏻🙂
@@TheManWithNoName. Maybe it says a lot what rough neighbourhood I live in then.... 😏 . No it is fine here. It was something with those houses and that they had this roads leaning upwards slightly to the house, it looked fancy in a way. Yes preferly a village then a +3 million city complex... my head hurts just by thinking of it. Maybe I move to the Gobi desert in Mongolia ^o^;
@pekinobo you live in a city with 3 million others !!! Jeeez , I'd be getting the hell out of there and heading back to where you grew up in Sweden, it sounds lovely there among the mountains
@@TheManWithNoName. The 3 million city complex was just a preference versus a more solitude place lke for example the Gobi desert. The city I live in now has cirka 96,000 people depending on how many students there are at the university. Sorry for not making meself more accurate on the matter. Hope your new week will be safe and fun.
@pekinobo oh I see, still though, anywhere in the countryside beats any city in my opinion , have a good week mate 👍🏻
Someone taking a property boundary very seriously at the expense of the conifers 17:05 😀😀 Thanks for posting
@@GB-bm9fe 😂 i didn't notice that at the time of recording, it seems they really resent the neighbors having the trees there, quite the statement of disapproval 😂
@@TheManWithNoName. I would have thought the conifer foliage would look better than the bare bark. By the way we are still on the same page. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxLUXQwWzpAR5Utx5yVNyZVc3UswBuVlon When we were discussing manipulation photos of The Worlds End pub this comment of mine seems to have got through the net: Sometimes I replace the whole sky if it's just slate grey with no features as was the case with the jogger. I don't download spectacular desert sunsets off the web or anything like that, I just use my own skies from another photograph, in fact I often take photographs of just a sky that looks good with a view to using it later. This is the hill out of Great Brington where you turned off at Grange Farm for your post of your walk to Thornburrow Hill and Gawburrow Hill. You can just make out the footpath sign on the right. The Grange Farm gate shot was taken on a different day and is the original sky. th-cam.com/users/postUgkx9wYoecUHawIQPer2RAigLuXYV0GudPGc
It´s almoust as if I could hear the fly saying; "Peekaboo, let´s play hide and seek. Now you see me.... (sporadic fly away) and then rubbing his/hers hands and giggling franticly to itself.. You truly have a way to see small flies and insects and other animals from a distance and share them with us. Thank you.
😂 a giggling fly 😂
Aah a Northamptonshire fly, far superior to flies from the rest of the UK😀😀. It's amazing the wonders that are right under our noses, well spotted. Thanks for posting.
@@GB-bm9fe 😂😂👍🏻
When you walked by the gate 14 minutes in I really liked how the town just appeared and the forrest kind of opened up. Hope the new week starts of fine.
@@pekinobo 👍🏻 some lovely hills to be seen from that spot
Never having used OS maps to navigate on walks I do not have a keen appreciation of where locations are relative to one another. I thought the info at 1:42 must be an error because I had seen a more convincing memorial to the event on Northampton Road between Bugbrooke and Litchborough. Checking Google maps I found that what I thought were conflicting claims as to where Radar was pioneered were only 5.6 miles apart. Nothing in aviation terms. Thanks for posting. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxiSiz2o5SFV-edoLhxg_iFViS_Mhspxzx
@GB-bm9fe I'm really surprised though that you have never used OS Maps, it's would of assumed that a veteran walker like yourself would have 🙂👍🏻
@@TheManWithNoName. I just kept buying the many books of circular walks that were available. The books did keep me cocooned within the circle of the walk but on the plus side they provided all sorts of interesting information. A typical example would be somewhere like Fotheringhay. The book tells that it is the birthplace of Richard 3rd and Mary Queen of Scots was incarcerated there and later executed there. All that history in a village about as big as a postage stamp population 119. The book also explains why there is nothing but a mound left of the castle because over time after it was abandoned the locals nicked all the stone to build their houses and barns. Stuff like that. Have you seen the village church at Fotheringhay? th-cam.com/users/postUgkxN6J9ajd8twz9UyWiKkgd93axWLWHyfl_
@GB-bm9fe It is incredible that a small village has seen all that notable history, ... that's brilliant about the stone from the castle being pinched by the villagers to build their houses 🤣 i love that 😂
Just love to see the mist over the green grass below and the beautiful sunrise.
Not to minimise your involvement but God sure knows how to light a scene 19:56 . Well captured!. Thanks for posting.
Check the thumbnail for this video, I screenshotted 19:56 for it .... great minds 😂😉
@@TheManWithNoName. I didn't pick up on that. I obviously see the thumbnail in my feed but it is relatively small and it goes straight to playing the video, bypassing the title screen, when I click on it. It is such a great shot that there is no way it could escape any ones attention during playback. 👌👌
Sunrise is stunning,, a feast for the eyes. Thankyou ....
If you look on Google maps there's an amazing lawn near the church that's mown in the pattern of a tudor knot.
@Womberto yeah I had spotted that on google maps, it's right behind the church, although I didnt know it was a tudor knot, I'm not even sure what that is, when I saw it wondered whether it is was some sort of maze, like a corn maze or Maize Maze, Or Grass Maze that you sometimes find, there's a Maize Maze in Harpole .... but then thinking about it, dosent look complicated enough to be a maze 🤦😂 ..... thanks for the information, I'll go and find out about what a tudor knot is 👍🏻👊🏻💪🏻
Thanks for the guided tour.

Lovely walk, traffic bit noisy, but, gorgeous sky with white fluffy clouds ,, this green & pleasant land 🇬🇧 , thankyou for posting 😊
It's Bootiful 👍🏻
There where some walls that seem a bit rough and old inside the church but still it stands there. Then some of the gravestones leans a bit to much and I hope the gardeners or whomever looks after it will not let them fall to the ground. Either way it was a nice tour to watch and many thanks for showing this. Hope your upcoming weekend will be great, fun and safe.
@@pekinobo glad you enjoyed the tour 👍🏻 I'm hoping for a nice quiet weekend with lots of sitting down in my favourite chair 😉 hope you have a nice one too
It has always amazed me that the local sandstone can be marked with a sturdy fingernail and yet the buildings made from it last for centuries. More than that they look great. Even though the exterior is looking well worn I would still feel safer entering Norton church than this example in Leicestershire. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxoUm6GEyu21oI8y-JyA_rLLmZWcHJTdeH
I don't know if there are any other comments on here because it says there are 3 but when I come to look there is only pekinobos and my reply, and now this comment, so I don't know if someone else has commented (maybe GB ?) But but I apologise that I cannot see it
When I commented I saw it said 1 comment, although it didn´t show any. So I clicked and chosed latest or if it is newest comment and GB´s comment was being show. It is wierd becouse I have seen similuar things on various videos before. Hope you can find the lost comment.
You - It is peacefull on the road when it is quiet.. seconds later. 2 motorcyclist goes by "wrooom wrooom" 😅 My humor is wierd.
@pekinobo 😂🤣 your humour is just fine mate 😂👍🏻
Very enjoyable, thanks for posting. You mention in the commentary that it can be a bit of a lottery when taking photographs and that some disappoint when viewed on screen whilst others are a pleasant surprise. The purists would say take things as they are and never intervene or manipulate to get a better shot but I disagree. I was driving to work one day and I saw the potential for a shot in Wellingborough. I was always early every where I went and work was no exception so I used the twenty or so minutes I had in hand to pull over and watch and wait. I sat in my car thinking “go ahead and tickle her” but although it almost happened several times the “tickle” never came. As time was running out and I did not want to be late for work I intervened. I approached the subject and asked him if he would follow my suggestion where to position himself so I could get the shot. He duly obliged and “tickled” her. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxO1Q16moAkIZJ0X_0aaXTzbEX5ICdRHDC I have in the past messed around with a photograph to get an effect that I was hoping for on the day but which never materialised. This example of a mourner in All Saints churchyard Wilbarston will illustrate what I mean. th-cam.com/users/postUgkx00RUb08XJNN8aehvd6Ar7dXOD6gSbrli

Haven´t seen the videos you mention about the music added on but I get your feeling about it. As a kid I saw Chariots of fire (1981) and since I did a lot running around as a kid I felt these men struggle and so on and then the music from Vangelis came in and I was "WOOOOW". For a long long time I was thinking it was so proper english and found it his name and "But it is a greek name". Nevertheless a great tune and still reminds me of England, although I never been there. So I do understand that some music feels more "home" then other music might. Plus these fields, not only in this video but also in general are just made to run on - now I am to old and lazy to do any running 🤫
@pekinobo the videos i mentioned i haven't finished them yet, I'm still waiting for some lovely photos to accompany the music, once I've got the photos sorted I'll work on compiling it all ... although I'm still not sure whether the music will be copyrighted, I'm hoping not considering they are very old pieces of music ..... Ps believe it or not, but I've never seen chariots of fire, I know it's a classic but i just never felt the desire to see it
@@TheManWithNoName. The copyright issues, it is a slippery sloap thing. Sometimes I know videos get taken down quite fast and sometimes they stay up. Old music should be ok, since there are videos that have classic music in and they have been for +12 years in some cases. Hope it will work for you when you upload it. Sometimes there are so many movies so it would be impossible to see all that have been released. I never seen Citizen Kane, M or Metropolis to name a few.
@pekinobo we will find out in time 👍🏻

@bensmith9595 😂 well i hope your enjoying life there .... and the walls aren't too bad 😂 if I remember correctly once we got up to around bedroom window height we left the job due to a pay dispute with the company that was employing us to work on the site, (cant remember his name, colin something or other ) and then the gables and all else after was done by another Gang of Brickies .... .... the old boy that ran our Gang and probably laid the majority of the stones on your house died just a couple of years afterwards .... anyway, just some little nuggets of information i remember from back then 👍🏻 Cheerio
