Hello World,
If you didn’t already know, I’ve written a book called 'WOO! Strange Happenings at the Windmill and Other Tangential Rants', a journey through space, time and South London music, featuring many of the artists on this channel. It can be purchased physically sold at the Windmill in Brixton, Dash the Henge (record shop in Camberwell), and can be ordered online (courtesy of Warmduscher’s merch site, here: peasantvitality.com/collections/custom-prints-publications/products/woo-strange-happenings-at-the-windmill-and-other-tangential-rants-paperback-version
Some years before writing the book, I’d been filming and uploading various acts. starting with The Moonlandingz debut show at London's Lexington in 2015, which was filmed from the very lively mosh pit, whilst catching my breath.. The sound's not always great and I've been thinking about getting a mic, but I'd probably lose it...
Hope you enjoy them, especially if you were there!
Cheers,
Dave x

Cat Rin & Alice Carmen - Mysterion EP Launch - Brixton Windmill - 12/10/2024
มุมมอง 2014 วันที่ผ่านมา
This is from a very special event to celebrate the life of our dear departed friend Gavin Mysterion’s and to release the EP he’d been working on before he was tragically taken from us. The songs from the EP was performed live by close friends and collaborators Cat Rin and Alice Carmen both of whom had been working closely with Gavin; Alice often had been regularly performing live with him and h...
Acid Klaus - ‘Heaven for Sale’ (Live) -The Lexington, London - 27:09/2024

Another slice of protest infused acid disco, and this time the target is religion with its dubious fund raising tactics, though never has it been quite so sexy and inviting as this. Sign me up!
Acid Klaus - ‘The Solution’ (Live) - The Lexington, London - 27/09/2024
มุมมอง 7914 วันที่ผ่านมา
The solution is revolution, so says Mr Klaus (AKA Adrien Flanagan) in this new song taken from their new EP ‘The Solution’, and he ain’t wrong. Indeed, this song is so fresh even Mr Klaus can’t remember all the words but continues regardless, a professional to the end. Yet another triumphant set and all the new songs are banging, especially the innuendo filled ‘Pour Some Wood on the Fire.’
Black Bordello - ‘Nunhead’ (Live) - Moth Club, Hackney - 24/09/2024

Black Bordello bring their goth infused theatrical surrealism to the Moth Club to celebrate the release of their stunning second album White Bardo. A visual like spectacle like no other with haunted gothic mime artists invading the crowd throughout the performance. The band are note perfect, every song a performance in its own right, like this earlier single (originally released on vinyl via so...
Yossari Baby - ‘Dear John’ (Live) - Windmill Brixton - 14/09/2024

I love this electro-punk outfit , though know little of them, only that they’re from Manchester and one of their members used to be in Starlight Magic Hour, whom I also used to love. This particular song made me fall in love with them even more, an Au Pairs cover from one of my top ten ever albums ‘Playing With A Different Sex’, such a thrill to hear this classic revitalised in this way.

Joining the line-up for the annual tribute to celebrate the life of Phobophobes original guitarist, the late George Russell, Misty performs a beautiful set which included some wonderful new material, including Too Heavy released this week. This particular song is my favourite from her 2022 EP ‘This Old Heart of Mine’ and must be one of the most heart-breakingly beautiful songs ever written.

Fat Dog - ‘Vigilante’(Live), Brixton Windmill - 04/09/2024

To celebrate the release of their ‘all killer, no filler’ debut album, aptly named ‘Woof’, Fat Dog play a secret gig at the place of their birth and the home of the original roof dog Ben, the inspiration behind their name (and the drummer’s dog mask). Here’s their two opening songs in succession, just before they hit us with a barrage of hits and bangers. They were so good they even had Steve L...
Fat Dog - ‘King of the Slugs’ (Live) - Banquet Records, Pryzm, Kingston
มุมมอง 517หลายเดือนก่อน
It’s been a busy year for Fat Dog, and a very busy week, what with their debut album ‘Woof.’ hitting the shelves. Tonight, nestled alongside the thoughtfully designed multi-lane one way system encircling Kingston, in a tacky, now condemned, nightclub scheduled for closure, they officially launch their debut album. Yet, despite these unsettling surroundings as soon as they appear onstage they se...

Introduced to me by a Gilla Band (Girl Band) 6 Music Takeover, this song feels like an old classic, and may well be, as he does plenty of those too, so was wonderful to catch him play this live again.

I saw these guys last night in Bristol!! Very impressed 😁
They were great weren’t they!
Old dirty money on your pale white skin!!!
Class
Thanks, I’d forgotten about this one. Great to see Gav giving it his all 😢
Keep it going and keep it coming, our SON !!!
@@angelawallers5608sure will and I know he will, your son is one of a kind and incredibly prolific!
the guy in the white vests singing is sofuckong awful and cringe
this one is a true one UI LOVE IT
👏👏👏👏
Ben was the Bass player. Not the roof dog 😂
@@Hutchman98 that is true, but also the name of the original Roofdog - a rottweiler named Ben
I just realised, you are Fat Dog’s drummer! 😂
Unicle_d4ddy one I wanted to check out, didn’t disappoint
Go daddy!
Acing it!! 🔥🔥🔥
Saw them at Projekts Skate Park in Manchester and loved the madness! Great venue under an underpass.
Don’t know it but will check out next time I’m up north.
Cracking gig
It’s album day ❤❤❤ Woof Woof!
Thanks for this Dave. We went home early!
Aha, I was surprised not to see you. I arrived a just before House Arrest.
Georgia …
Cheers, yeah I got the details from Alex, just a bit tardy editing it. All corrected!

crazy good
Thank you❤

Love these guys so much 🎉 Great record btw 📣
@@AnarchoKid cheers!
@@DaveThomson_WOO Cheers back from hamburg!
forcing this song on all my friends and coworkers until they understand.
@@massgeneral9873 well that could go either way! 😂
@@DaveThomson_WOO you're telling me. ps- 'friends and coworkers' is literally like, tens of people. you're welcome wallers.
Would love to have seen them live
@@jameswindels-lyte1032 Well, it’s still possible, they’re still performing sporadically in various guises/line-ups
I do like a bit of body horror.
@@LouSmith yeah, I really enjoyed em!
🤘
This singer’s voice is a bit higher than Scott’s. That way, the higher notes of this song are not really high notes for this singer, thus making it sound less powerful.
Been meaning to catch Ziplock for a while now. They sound fun.
They were pretty special. Not sure when they’re playing again but hopefully soon
First Bassline I ever learnt. Great intro to a brilliant set.
Yeah, what a show! Pretty mind blowing!
Sweet. They were great. This is the one I thought sounded a bit Gilla Bandish. The chorus at least.
Yeah I kinda see that. I think this band, Fat Dog and Byrne’s Night were my personal Wide Awake highlights - and Ziplock at windmill - who were amazing
@@DaveThomson_WOO the only three things I watched too. Ziplock is on my radar. That's Morgan as well no? I'd had enough peopleising by then.
@@LouSmith yes, yet another Morgan project - a powerful and prolific talent that one!
@@LouSmith ‘peopleising’ 😂
@@DaveThomson_WOO I did see Morgan Noise the other night, so don't feel hard done by.
I think they did a great job with this one
Well, he's not in the same ballpark as Scott Walker, but no one is. The music is phenomenal and a decent job singing.
Brilliant gig......first time I'd seen them and certainly won't be the last. This is a band that like Cardiacs occupy a very unique space between many genres.
such a good show the energy was on point both support bands where amazing as well
Amazing
Any idea when the music vid comes out?
A couple of months time I’m told and is apparently gonna feature an Ollie puppet
Already out 😎
@@oliverdillon-brown9693 yeah I know, it the vids new 👍
Nick was cooking the guy wearing the Radiohead jacket 😂
It was one of the best AHC concerts I have ever been to.In dub we trust.
Really wish I'd been there
Noah house of dread
I came down from Brum for this & it's the best I've seen them in 30 years , the whole event was just mint
Love this song
Yeah, and its so good live
And we have danced and smiled and healed. Bless up!
What a night this was! I'm well honoured to have been able to kick off this night! Adrian's live dubbing on AHC was completelt OFF THE PLANET! One of the best performances I've heard of AHC + AMS. And I've been to many! :D
que banda foda!🔥
Yes, what a night! It was great from start to finish, with Adrian spinning some classic tunes at the beginning & then Mad Professor, African Head Charge, finishing off with Gaudi. A total tonic for the soul.😀
It's just my point of view, but I think this song is brilliant
Whoa! That ending. Perfectly ties it in with today. The best thing about TH-cam is my ability to see the Arena documentaries here in the USA. Watching all I can find and here I am. Surprised to see the format change for this one. Fascinating with with a wonderful cast. Thanks for posting.
That song is called "Skin is All" (th-cam.com/video/tEE32RqX0S0/w-d-xo.html)
oh and the second song is "I H8 Genocide"
Sounds good but can't tell what hes singing.. its not english but very old school She Wants Revenge sounding.
Agree, but that could the audio recording on my phone. Never as good as the real thing (live)
ILS ONT TOUT COMPRIS !!!!
the man speaks truth, i love the music.
Yeah, one of the most underrated songwriters in the UK. Certainly the most prolific with over 200 albums now!
