Instructional video to change oil on a 2015 Subaru Forester
Great instructional video but you do not pry the light off the back clip! After the bolts are removed the unit slides away from the quarter panel. After bulbs are replaced line the tail light up with the quarter panel and slide it back into place then replace the bolts.
Thanks for saving me like 80 bucks for a 5 minute fix
Plastic card there does nothing. Just slide it towards the back
Did you serious use a filter wrench for this gig? 😂 come on homie.
Good advice except I disagree with the going without the Trim tool. GET THE TRIM TOOL. ITS CHEAP AND WAY EASIER IF YOU USE IT
The clip doesn’t have any mechanism to release from the bulb. Maybe I’ll try a sledgehammer
Hi anyone knows what is the bottom light? The top is the brake light, the middle is reverse. What is the bottom? I am unable to figure it out. Thx
Great step by step no BS Great video!
This was the easiest to follow tutorial I have seen. You saved me time and money - thank you!
Thanks for the video. I would say though that at the moment (1:04 min mark) where you have to detach the bulb from the plug, it does not give as easily as shown in video. There is a little clip that is on the backside that can be more easily loosened with a flat head. At least I was unable to just pull that plug away without moving that piece a bit.
You can use string instead of plastic card
Thank you so much for this! Had both of my bulbs replaced within 5 minutes after watching. Excellent video!
Not me trying to pop the clip out when it just slides backwards 🤣
Thanks so much for this video! You did a great job and now I am replacing my light today. Thank you again 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Thank you so much, even easier than expected
Thanks for the video. Only took me about 4 minutes to change my headlight. Since the video, the price of the H11 went up $8
Thank you
Thanks, now I’m out $11 instead of an $80 shop visit. Much appreciated.
Very clear and straightforward video. Great job!
Thank you. Latest price from O’Reilly was $18 plus tax.
Easy peazy! Thank you!
$11? They charged me $18 at Autozone. WTF?
Unscrew the bolts and pull straight AWAY from the car. DO. NOT. PRY.
Very great instructions and demonstrations. Got mine changed! I did have to use a flathead screwdriver to get the plug off, but so much easier than expected!
That was easy. Thank you!
Your method is very good ! I use a discount card to take out the light assembly. Thank you! Save a lot of money 😂🎉
Thanx so much for taking the time to do this video. I had the bolts out and could not figure why I could not remove the light. This helps a lot. Thanx again.
Hi, just to note, I used a wide silicone spatula and inserted from the top like what you did, but then moved to the back and push the assembly back to get it off the clip.
Thank you! Your explanation was excellent and straightforward. 🙂
Probably should have mentioned that you never touch the bulbs with bare hands or fingers. always wear gloves to keep body oils off the bulb. 😎👍
Thank you for sharing.
This was misleading. That’s not a compression clip- the light fixture slides onto that clip
Thank you Sir! That took all of a minute.! Way better than replacing a headlight on my neighbors Mazda 3 with their weird rubber band set up!
Thanks Dude! There are some fancy LED bulb sets available to replace the H11 bulbs.... really don't think paying 10 times the price is remotely justified.
Very clear, easy to follow and understand, without a bunch of unnecessary explaining. Great video. Thank you so much!
Does it ever turn off?
This is excellent and I’m changing mine today. Much appreciated!
just add wd40 where he puts his card, It helps the plastic slide. The card isn't releasing anything. That "clip" is not a clip. It is more a male/female slide-in /slide out that holds the overhang part of the light assembly. And old dry dusty plastic tends to not slide, so wd40 :)
Thank you for your help 👍
Just need to check the service manual on what it's typical rpm idle is suppose to be adjusted at. I believe the idle should be about 1200 rpms. Maybe it needs adjusted? Or it's reading wrong?
To disconnect the light, there is a small clip that runs down the middle of the connector. Press it
Was going to say the same thing. Need to do this first to disconnect that electrical connector
Thank you for your comment. I was struggling
I had to use a flat head screw driver to press the bottom of the clip. The it rotated just abut an 1/8 inch out. Then it pulls off easy.
Thanks -- good!
Thanks for the video. Unfortunately the title is incorrect, missing the word bulb.
Thank you.
My wot is 3750
Mine idles at around 1150-1200
Bad video by the publisher. Do not try to pop out the fitting as author suggests. Likely to break a piece of the entire housing out. It is not meant to be popped out. It slides backwards fairly easily. And when lined up correctly it slides right back into place very easily. Don't try to pop it out as author suggests.
Do NOT use a plastic trim tool as damage can occur. Simply apply tape and pull to rear: th-cam.com/video/WVP2VbpKbqM/w-d-xo.html There are 4 guide pins to be engaged when reinstalling. Simply slide back into place from the rear, making sure that guides pins are aligned before sliding into place.
Thank you for this tip. Worked great with tape and pulling toward the rear!
great video. i used a flat wood mixer to get the light out and it worked perfectly.
Literally the only confusing part about this is getting the fucking plastic piece off and what are your instructions? To “manipulate it” and “loosen it”. What in the fucking fuck does that mean dude? Am I supposed to just rip this off. Which DIRECTION do I push? WHERE do I hold it? Fucking fuck fuck fuck fuck
Geeze a lil high strung are ya?
