    • @JeremiahHartmann
      @JeremiahHartmann 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's a great approach! It's always better to clarify with the couple their preference on how they want to be introduced. You could start by saying something like, "I feel silly asking this, but I want to make sure I do it right. I'm so excited about being your MC! Would you prefer to be introduced as the happily married couple? Or what do you propose?" This question is safe and respectful, and it shows that you care about making their day personal and special.

    One thing I find quite challenging is the best way to introduce individual speakers. Firstly, you’re introducing people you don’t know to people they do know and everybody is usually a bit nervous. So, what’s the best way to do it? For the first one, I usually say something like, “It’s always nice to introduce someone who needs no introduction…”. However, it’s very difficult to find a novel way of introducing the other two or three speakers. Anyone got any ideas?

    • @JeremiahHartmann
      @JeremiahHartmann 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey a great question. I'm sorry about my delay in responding to this one. One way that I approach it is to say "I know most of you may recognise our next speaker, or "I know some of you have a close relationship with our next speaker..."

    • @JeremiahHartmann
      @JeremiahHartmann 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Banan! Great work landing a first-time MC gig! Familiarise and practice your duties so much so you can feel comfortable showing up and be seen and heard by the attendees. Don't try to "present", "be funny" or "be the MC". First focus on building a human/approachable connection with your audience who would be proud parents and grandparents. Imagine what sorts of things they will be thinking, feeling or doing before the event. Be confident to ask for help and offer help to others on the day of the event. If there are other parties involved like catering, band/DJ, or photographers, ask them what you can do to make their day easier. Smile! The longer you are keeping a room's attention at the beginning of your opening, the better the chances the attendees will be on your side throughout the entire event. Know that something unexpected can always make its appearance after you lay out a plan, but that's why they got you to lead the way! All the best!
