Obviously this is a very old video but I can't find great info on ESC compatibility still. Im planning on using one 70mm 2250kv JP hobby EDF's in a freewing f-16 and I'm wondering if a Hobbywing 100A Skywalker ESC would work well. The HW data sheet says maximum 35000 RPM with a 12 pole motor but I have found a video on TH-cam by RCINFORMER flying 2 of these in an ME 262 with twin HW Skywalker 80a ESC's and it seems to work great. Thanks
Hi you can check www.jphobby.eu for 100A ESC
nice
I was honestly expecting more than 4kg out of a 105mm on 8s. My FMS 90 8s develops 4kg.
I saw a video 6.5 thrust at 10s fms
Nice fan. Pretty quiet due to high rpm and many blades makes less annoying to human ears but still very deterministic jet like sound.
Will this work as fan for staircase pressurization in building in case of fire and what’s mass flow rate in m3/h? If it creates high velocity for propulsion can it also pressurize stairwell in case of fire?
That’s not nowhere near 88k rpm
COOOOOOOOOL
cooooool
The only thrust number to look for here is the 3.7 Volt per cell rating! Unless you're using high-voltage lipos.. .
I am very confused as to how this motor will work with some esc but not others, can you explain what makes the jp esc different?
I bought a pair of these and can't get either of them to work with a castle edge esc. They run fine up to half throttle then loose sync. Please explain what is going on
what power supply are you using and where can I get one please?
Nice Test, But please simulate with the real drop voltage of a normal lipo battery...That gives the real thrust that we will get in a model...Thank You
How much time it can work with full speed at one charge of battey
I use ths EDF in a Taft Hobby Valkyrie (the older one with 1330 kv - I think it´s the same as showed here). On 8S 5000 I get a flight time about 5 min, with 8S 6500 around 6 min. with mixed throttle use. The power is enough for this 3.5 kg Jet (GPS measured speed 132 mph , 213 kph) and the sound is the really good - has a nice turbine like whistle.
What is the name of the song in the first 29 seconds of the video?
Very strength Shane, is this called outside type retractor?
Hi i know this Video ist old but can Somebody Tell me where i can get all the parts (Turbine, battery and Speed Kontroller
I see you use a power converter instead of real Lipo batteries... I have not seen lipo's with 4.2 volts per cell.... why do you test 50,4 Volts? as it is not available during flight....or i really need a long extension cord
So they can generate fabricated & falsified specifications!!.. .
Shane, I have a Flex Innovations FlexJet and I’m looking for upgraded retract motors. Guys on the rc plane addict group on Facebook said to find you and get your help..
What battery did you use for the 50.4v test?
Hello Shane, beautiful work. Could you make me the parts file? thankful Roger
Hello Shane do you have same for a plane for 20 kg or more in tricycle gear style look like a Cessna ?!!!!
hello, Im working on a project - if i wanted to make a homemade leaf blower... can i just run a 90mm EDF to a 22.2 lipo or do i need a 120v esc with a on and off button? thanks for any info!
Need esc to regulate the current
How did you connect this to a/c power?
Shane, can you explain why carbon EDF of same diameter do thrust almost twice that big? www.vasyfan.com/160mm.html
I have the jp 120mm EDF at 12s (combo)..it is stil possible to run it with 14s battery. it is the same mottor ?? or the mottors are different?
Hi Martin, the 12S motor is not able to run at 14S battery. they has different motor(different KV).
Hi Shane ..In Falcon Hobby site both fans 12s and 14s (120mm) have the same motor JP 5050 760 KV 12 Pole. Can you confirm this. You tell has differnt??
@@martinkomel4219 The JP 5060 760kv 12 pole is 12S motor, The JP 5060 673KV 12 pole is 14S motor.
Can this be run at 39 -40 volts in aircraft? I saw warnings on fan jets usa site to only run it at 37 volts..thank you
Hi Andrew, That is 10S 90mm EDF. It could running at 10s Lipo battery. So the volts of 10S Lipo is 42V max and 36V lower. That is mean that fan is able to run at 39V-40V.
Where can we get the new JP ESC as seen in your video?
Hi William, We have new ESC for that EDF now. Here is the link to the new ESC. www.turbines-rc.com/en/50a-and-over/1053-jp-hobby-100a-esc-2-6s-ubec-5a.html
How many amps?
109A
hmmm... 🙄Vasyfan produces 4.6kg of thrust on 8S!
Hi there, I would like to buy the same setup as your. Is it possible ? Thanks

If I calculated good this is 2300 KV Per minute ( RPM/V) motor. Right ?
The KV is 673KV is the right KV of the motor.
Tell me how u got the j-20 model airplanes
You need that J-20 jet model?
Well... That is my favorite jet fighter and I really want to have one as my own so can you tell me how to get it please
How to contact with you please?
We'll see here is the thing I don't have a phone number because I have no service and it's my dad's other phone that I use but maybe I can give you my dad's phone number
May I have your mail address please?
What power supply is that? And were can it bought at
The 90mm/12s fan is performing very well. We are preparing a series of videos that use your fans in hybrid jet engines. I want to be accurate when describing the specs on these engines. The fans are rated to at least 75k RPM and possibly to 82k RPM, but based on the motor kv and your video demonstrations it would seem that the operational RPM would be somewhat less than 50k RPM. Can you clarify this?
Could share me how you get the RPM? Are you get them from RPM testing machine? or get from calculate?
Calculation, based on the motor kv and applied voltage. We will be running these as compressor stages in a hybrid turbojet.
Shane, about a month ago you posted that your highest power fan was an 18s, 120mm diameter fan with a continuous power consumption of 8,700W. Falcon Hobby does not carry this fan and we need it for a series of turbojet videos on our TH-cam channel. Can you email us about a source? techingredients@gmail.com
I also would like to purchase a 120mm or biggger any suggestions where to buy?
www.falconhobbysupply.com/airplanes/jp-hobby/
Can you confirm that the 160mm fan is still available, the US source is out of stock? Can you also give a maximum continuous output? Your demonstrations of these engines are limited to several seconds at peak output.
Hi ! I am Shane, The 160mm EDF is not available now. We have similar output data of 120mm EDF with 18S. Here is the information: 18S / 78.3V / 123A / 10.8kg Thrust. Power : 9630.9W
Thank you. Is this a continuous power capability?
How long of time you want the Fan running at the data please? My experience is here the continuous power is depend on quality of your Lipo battery. So the good quality Lipo battery is more power and the power is stabilization. But the bad quality Lipo battery would make the fan lose power.
I understand fully what my power supply limitations are. I am asking only about the fan and it's motor. What is the maximum continuous power that the motor can be operated at without overheating?
This is the best continuous data: 18S / 75.6V / 116A / 10.3kg Thrust. Power : 8769.6W
I know this is old but what's the motor's rated continuous watts and amps on 12S?
12S 46.8V 109A 5.69kg 5101.2W 459g(weight) 1080kv
Those numbers are for continuous use and not 5 second max, correct? I just ordered one and want to be sure.
Yes! But your battery have to be the high quality one. It is mean the fan able to out put that thrust for long time if your battery could offer that voltage and current.
Question, i have one of these motors running on 6s on a 100a esc, and im only getting about half the advertised thrust...any suggestions?
Please check the fan is running at the correct direction. And check the current?
just bought one , 😀 am gonna have some fun .
want one
www.falconhobbysupply.com/airplanes/jp-hobby/
Very nice Shane. Good to have the controller separate and not have to use micro switches. I will use these on my next jet. How are the large diameter brakes coming along? Cheers Dean
Hi Oldman Aero, The max diameter brake is 95mm.
Hello Shane, Its Dean. we have Emailed each other before (Buckaroo) Where can I get the 95mm brake set?
Deflection wall behind motor changes results. What batteries are you using and what is the amp draw at full current/throttle? Would you be interested in a gearing system I want to build? I dont really have tools to do it though.
Nothing about the wall. The max current is 118A.
Shane Yang Well depending on how close it is. If you have deflection wall behind it then there is increased pressure and you will get false reading. How about the batteries? What brand and specs are those? Thanks.
The wall is 0.5 meter away from the fan.
Ryad Arlan The thrust is not from the wind which push the wall then show at the monitor. That thrust is from air pressure between air input and air output. So the wall behind will reduce thrust not increase exactly. The thrust also is difference between the fan have intake ring(more thrust) and haven't have intake ring(less thrust). Or you can try to close the output of the fan.you will notice the fan is zero thrust not to be the top thrust. About the batteries is comment brand in China, The ESC is JP HV 120A.
QUOTE - "So the wall behind will reduce thrust not increase exactly" If you put that deflection/wall closer to exhaust/output then there will be increase in thrust reading. Try it you will see. Yes if you close the exhaust nozzle there will be less airflow unless increase in power. (This is a single fan electric.) I am sure a variable nozzle will result in straining the motor. With a typical Jet the airflow through exhaust will increase as well as thrust but the intake will remain the same. QUOTE - "The wall is 0.5 meter away from the fan." What is the "Jet blast" distance? This will effect the engine as it has something to push against. Increased pressure behind engine. More "thicker/denser" air to push against. goo.gl/AlppKl I would love to share some ideas but I am saving anything relevant for exchange in person. Melbourne Australia and Aus Gov tapping my computer and stealing everything. Put me in psyche ward to claim I am delusional and strip me of licences and privileges. They arrived here as thieves nothings changed. If you have friends in NSW Near Liverpool Area I would be happy to chat with them in person. No phones.
Could this fan be ran on 8s at all?
yes. Lol
I have this model, with a JP100A ESC. It worked when I first got it. Used it twice. 5 months later, it just beeps and the fan won't go on. What's wrong?
May I know how to connect your fan and ESC please. Or add my Facebook "Shane Yang"
pete gibbons check the throttle trim it may be set too hi for the esc to initiate or rebind your receiver those are the most common issues before a defect is assumed
Thank you for your response ...Greatly appreciated;)
The max speed of this flying up to 192km/h by GPS knotmeter.
you need fpv
what exact 6s edf did you get
JP 6S 90mm EDF with 1750KV super outrunner motor, 12 blades. The max thrust up to 4.32kg with 126A.
