Its hard when you don't like a popular book because the people who are diehards can make you feel like you shouldn't get to have an opinion on the book and thats why i mostly stay away from popular books.

I think it might depend on the location but sometimes they have other buy one get one 50% off books at the checkout. Once time I was buying some books and couldn’t find another one in that category and then I was pleasantly surprised that they had some options at the checkout

I know the feeling of rushing to shop til the last minute. At least your Barnes opens at 9AM! Mine doesn't open until 10.

There are actually methods to make it easier not to crack and lota of tutorials online on how to make it easier to read!

I try to only buy the rattiest mass-prod paperback copy of a book I can find - no stress!

it hurts my soul but I also love a well worn book... like the one you just know someone has loved and read multiple times...I feel a used book is a loved book!

If you het each page from the back and the front and keep flipping them evenly the spin will not Crack

I always snap that bad boy right open I'm too impatient to try to read in the crevice😭 except my favorite book I bought another copy of that I don't read and remains perfect just because i really like it😂

Oh my goodness you can set the spine of a book so it won’t crack!! Look up videos of how to set a books spine pleaseeeeee! You lay the book on its spine and take like five or ten pages from the front and back of the book and press down on them so they stay in place and repeat this until you are all the way to the middle of the book! This way the crease if there is any will be on the side of the spine (think like a hardcover book) instead of right down the center where the pretty designs usually are! Hope this helps!❤️

I have the opposite problem, the moment I get a new book I break that spine like a professional chiropractor 😅
