I am a volunteer in the hall and can I just say what an amazing job you have done, thank you.

Used to grab a pint and a game of Pool in there years back,was agreat meating place. We used to go in there while waiting for the Bands to set up + play in the opp pub "The Old Bill" , that used to be the Westminster Road Police Station/Fire Station. Some great pubs used to be on the Corners of most roads around the Seftons Location. Sadly the Brit Gov Estab don't like English Culture,as they're prefered (demographic re-population officially don't drink alcohol) and pubs where English Cultural Meeting Places. So over the years the brit estab have built(brick walls of all kinds to WIPE OUT our culture) Targeting pubs, to name just one aspect of they're agenda. So it's great to see somebody(yourself) showing people the way ordinarilly went about they're lif in general. Like you mentioned, the architecture of pubs, built back then was splendid to behold, not just glass boxes of todays rubbish 5 min wonders.Great vid REDFOX

I lived at the back of this beautiful library as a kid, went inside many times, this is a crime the way this building has been left to rot, the Victorians will be turning in their graves 🤬 and watch when a mysterious fire happens, then the dodgy council say it has to be knocked down...Hmmmmm 🤔

This was my local library when i was a kid if this was in the south Liverpool area it would be renovated and preserved.

Muslims are converting pubs into mosques at an alarming rate up and down the country.

If Tony Bennett had ever visited your city, he would have sang "I left my heart in Liverpool". Still love seeing the former rotating restaurant where I enjoyed a couple of dinners in '83.

I had the good fortune to spend some time in Liverpool a few years ago at a work conference. I have to say Liverpool is a wonderful city and St Georges Hall is awe inspiring in it's magnificence. I feel if St Georges was based in London it would be as world famous as Tower Bridge or Nelson's Column. If you have never been to Liverpool I suggest you do. Thanks for the video BTW.

Hi this is fantastic what an amazing place. I bet the acoustics in the great hall are amazing what a beautiful space just love the ceiling. Can see why it has been used in so many films. The blue room was unusual. Thank you for sharing its history and showing us around. A really big 👍 from us. Hope you have had a great weekend. Oh! Great video! I managed to get in here a few months back, I’m a urban explorer! Fantastic place, but it’s unfortunate nothing is going to happen to it…. What drone do you use by the way?

Most of the old pubs were master peaces loads of carikter well built back then the was some work getting done on it about 15 years ago and it was going to be called Rooneys bar after the footballer I new a plaster who was going to do some work on it and I think the name was causing some concern because wain Rooney had nothing to do with it I think they were trying to cash in on wain Rooney name and popularity back then

I went to Major Lester school on Walton Breck road in the late 40's and the class would walk up Beacon Lane to the library and get books for our reading. It was a beautiful building then, but I was too young to appreciate it. Everything has changed so much since then.

i see this building out of the starboard window on Merseyrail train from Liverpool Central to Southport just as we approach 'BankHall' station. always thought it must have some history..it does stand out even derelict.

I love these types of building as they hold more history than the history books tell us. It's so sad to see it rotting away but this is a common site now in our towns and cities. Great detailed video thanks for sharing😊

Surely that building is unsafe,why hasn't it been demolished

There were three pubs on Bankhall, This one was known to the natives as the Bankhall. There was also the Hangsman half way down and the Griffin at the bottom. I remember being told that this was also sometimes called the Hangsman. I think this was in some way connected to the Kirkdale jail.

I was born on St John's Rd nr 70 yrs ago.

Always wondered what it was, looking up from the train on my way to either to Southport or maybe Kirkby. Can see the corner spire from the train line. Great shame to see so many pubs around Liverpool with great structure crumbling.

VERRY GOOD VIDEO now try for a pub round the corner in clide st called the lozzee houst or the albion hotel

Used to be one of ours, we had the lease on it prob around 2000 to 2005, squatters got in upstairs after we sorted the place out.

Great video 👍 really enjoyed, used to have a workshop just behind the pub , I remember the royal getting painted in about 1989 (exterior ) looked fabulous I was jealous I wasn’t painting it (I’m a painter & decorator)😊
