Evolution of DNF’s relationship (TEXT WALL WARNING): Stage One, before face reveal. Back then it was more of a high school crush. Two guys who like hanging out online and have known each other forever, making gay jokes every once in a while. Stage Two, right after face reveal. George had always wanted to meet Dream, so it was probably the best day of his life. Dream was ecstatic, meeting his best friend and physically being there with him. George kept looking at him, making up for the time that he didn’t know what Dream looked like. Dream enjoyed George’s company, being all smiles around him. Stage Three, flirtatious. After a while of being in the same house it started occurring to them that they were a good match. A perfect one, even. Such a good match that being “best friends” wasn’t enough. They both slowly started falling for each other, and started flirting heavily for attention. Then comes the Christmas streams. This was the peak of their flirting age, with Dream literally giving George a wife card and George letting Dream touch and hug him. Stage Four, relationship. Since we don’t actually know if or when they started dating, I’d say it makes sense that they started in late July or August. But I think something happened before this. Dream and George’s relationship was platonic, built on a long friendship and natural compatibility. They were super comfortable with each other, and now aware that they both liked each other. As many DNF fans have said, Dream’s love language is probably touch. He taps George so lightly and grabs him so gently. George is familiar enough with Dream that he trusts him to do this. He doesn’t even look down when Dream grabs his waste. They stand really close together and always look at each other with heart eyes. Stage Five, probably dating. My assumption here is that they started dating because it would be weird if they weren’t. It was just more official. This did mean they were a little self-conscious when it came to gay jokes made by their friends, but otherwise nothing was stopping them. They continued having it be mostly platonic, because that was still what they wanted their relationship to be. Side notes: I think the fact that George’s admiration for Dream didn’t stop even after the allegations probably confirms the love part. I mean, everyone but George (and Sapnap) pretty much abandoned him. Also, the fact that George MOVED ACROSS AN OCEAN to be with Dream. Like- ✋ and 15:35 pretty much describes everything else I wanted to say. Respect and love, not just sexual attraction. Sorry for the text wall lol I just needed to put this somewhere.
