Ciao viewers,
I am Giulia, half Italian, half Spanish. I graduated at the Royal Ballet School in 2015. Immediately after I joined Dresden Semperoper Ballet, then in 2021 the Stuttgart Ballet and since August 2024 I joined La Scala Theatre.
Why am I on TH-cam?
Well, I am an Aquarius, and when I first got the idea of creating this channel I thought it was another of my "short term distractions", so before making a move I let the idea sink into me and as it rooted itself.. well.. here I am, it’s happening!
This channel will be my space to share moments of my life as a professional ballerina and I hope to inspire someone, either to start dancing or to come watch a performance! ✨
I am a 200 Hours Certified Yoga Teacher and I have the ABT teaching course certified Pre-primary/ Level 3.
I think for now that’s all,
Be kind and stay curious ❤️

Hi subscribers, visitors and friends, This video is about how a professional ballerina breaks her pointe shoes! This process may require tools such as hammers, cutters, pliers, strong hands, water and a pinch of creativity. 😉 This is an essential part of my pointe shoes preparation....

Updates on these darning techniques? How did each technique fair you? Did one break down faster than the other or did the shoes die before you noticed?
Thank you so much for sharing! TH-cam is so helpful! There aren't a lot of older dancers at my studio with experience at this point, so having the whole internet with all of the professionals to give us tips and tricks is indispensable!
Woah! You shave off the whole bottom! Do you do this to help level out the shank? Also, do you find that slippery or does rosin just handle it? I make suede caps for the tips of mine because rosin doesn’t seem to be enough, but I haven’t done much with the shanks other than to 3/4 them.
@@LadyBlack22 hello 😊 I have a full video on “how I prepare my pointe shoes” th-cam.com/video/vdUTqHQ9YLM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=AuUZ4LEvFxj5j3Ec and in minute 15:20 (step 9) I explain briefly why I do it. I hope it helps xxx
Thank you Giulia 😊 molto interessante
☺️
Perché non fai dei video in italiano??
In futuro non escludo che potrei farne qualcuno :)
The double bun looks so sweet on you! 🥰
Grazie!! 🥰
Great tips! Thank you so much 😊 I love your videos xx
Thanks! Xxx
I also use the tangle teezer, it's very nice!
😍😍😍 I love it!
Thank you very much for this, it's realy relaxing and helpful❤ I've noticed that my turnout and height in developpé à la seconde is better when I've done this routine
This makes me happy! Always do the exercises mindfully ☺
How would you describe the predominant influence in technique at Corpo di Ballo del Teatro alla Scala, naturally Italian method (- Cecchetti? Or has the style & teaching of Cecchetti method changed over the generations?), …. which has been influenced most by or similar to …. Russian? French? English? American? style & technique. Or does one have to be flexible, being able to perform different techniques as like choreography? Was curious cause I learned French style. Looks like you’re wearing swimming outfit in dance class? Goggle? Bon voyage on your new adventure.
Hi there, I would say that most of the influence of the Corpo di ballo would come from the director, in the past years it has been swinging from Russian, to French. But I wouldn't close the company into one style, as the style is defined by the ballet that is danced at the moment. For example we danced Theme and Variations and Robbins in November (th-cam.com/video/NwzPkPb_wV4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=q72L1GRX92b8JLOO) and we had assistants from the Balanchine Trust and Jerome Robbins coaching us. Or we just performed the Nutcracker from Nureyev (th-cam.com/video/jq-4KJct-V0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=tIU5jWlPpn85aReS) and we had to stick to the style. In June we will dance Paquita from Pierre Lacotte so we will dive into the French style! The ballet training we get daily depend on the guest teachers that come or our ballet masters, but I would add that most of the company members graduated from La Scala School which is very Vaganova influenced. I hope my reply satisfies your curiosities :)
..ah and the summer look was to celebrate the end of the season in a festive way! Thank you for the wishes, all the best to you too
Work out molto interessante! grazie per condividerlo!
❤
Gracias !

Hi Giulia. Very nice vlog indeed. Coming back home from the office and relaxing watching your videos is becoming a very pleasant habit. I really love the grace you put in everything you do, from moisurizing your face or crashing your pointe shoes with a hammer... Please don't stop (to make videos, not to crash thing with your hammer). A few words about the show. I bought the ticket at the very last moment and I did not have great expectations. I was totally wrong: what a show! Or I should say three different great shows. Theme and variations, a beatiful (but I imagine extremely challenging) display of classical ballet. Dances at the gathering takes you into a dream, out of this world, for an hour (maybe a little too long...). And finally The Concert, a lot of fun with a very unexpected and touching end. Really happy for not following my initial feeling.... Bye!
Hi there, I am very glad to hear that we surpassed your expectations! I feel that another title for the evening could have spiked more interest in the public.. but I am happy you came anyway, because the ballets offered a nice variety of dance and they created different moods, from the impressive Theme, to the dreamy Dances and finally to the comic Concert!
@@giuliadianafrosiNow I am curious 🤔. Which title you would have chosen for that night?
So cool, thanks for sharing!!! (please, buy a small mic, so we can hear you better)
@@arbousiersles7381 yes maybe I should think about it! Thanks for the feedback :)
That plant in the corner is my favorite plant I had one whose leaves blossomed at the edges too🌱
I am a big lover of plants and I am always trying to propagate them! 😍
@@giuliadianafrosi I can tell they look happy, and that particular plant is special cause it propagates from within although I didn't get any new plants from the fallen plantlets in the short time I had it. I like it also cause it doesn't need much attention and it's delicate but resilient. I once left it out in direct sun by accident all day during summer cause it seemed to like the heat, it wilted and turned yellow but came back in about a month, it's amazing🤩
I love this so much! Please do more ❤
Thank you for the message ❤ I hope it was easy to follow as I move along the sequence. Very happy that someone out there can find the video useful, more warm ups will probably come!
Super! Bravissima!
Grazie ❤️🥰

How long did it take for the leotards to deliver? I did an order on boxing day and just wondering how long the custom orders take to arrive
Hi!! In Europe the shipping time goes from 6 to 8 weeks. I think in the States is the same! 😊

Yes, I think so too!
First time to see detailed vlogs about Nureyev’s Nutcracker.
😍
Great video! Your glue looks like a more liquid version of shellac - which is what I use to (re)harden my pointe shoes. <3 Glad to hear that you got more life out of your shoes!
Yes it looks and smells very similar to the Shellac. I think the glue is made with rosin + alcohol and it definitely allows the shoes to last longer!
Very nice review of one of my favourite ballet. If it was recorded last December 20 I was there, and for this reason I enjoyed it most. Very interesting what you said about how slow the music was during the snow flakes scene. An experienced and skilled Director should take care of that. I hope this was reported. I am going to see the show a second time this evening and I am going to pay more attention. By the way, as I always say, the Principals are very good but what makes the difference in this company is the Corps de Ballet.
Thank you! I hope you enjoyed the show last night, it was the second show of the day for us.
I can't stop watching this video. You captured so many nice moments we can not see during the show, giving a clear idea of everything there is in the backstage that makes these events possible. I hope you will go on making new videos starting with Peer Gynt, the next show I am going to see.
@ thank you thank you! 🙏🏻 Messages like this give me an extra boost of motivation to keep creating content for ballet lovers! The video about Peer Gynt is surely in my plans.. I already saw very interesting costumes and it will be nice to Vlog about a contemporary piece with such an iconic music.. stay tuned! ☺️
This was a real treat.
It's amazing how similar you and Liri Hernandez look, particularly when you make up in front of the mirror!
These Cast Members ALL SPEAK ENGLISH SO WELL! It's obvious they are a high order of professionals. But then, it's La Scala Milan...to be expected. Bows to you all.

Thank you for your comment! It does take some commitment,as there needs to be some planning ahead and finding time to record while I am performing, but the final result, after hours of editing 😅, is still worth the effort!
