Are you sure you were following the JMHT all the way? I've followed it a few times and never went past the deer park wall, and some other bits look different too.
I tend to divert from the original route if I think the detour might be worth it, particularly when crossing villages and towns.
@@javiervagabond9524 Which way did you go to get to the deer park wall?
@@LeppardPrintAnimal I diverted from the route to see Berry Pomeroy Castle, but then I went back to the route as shown on the LDWA website so I think I was following the official route when I took the picture of the Berry Pomeroy Deer Park Wall.

Poco a poco se va recuperando. Con la masificación del Francés y del Norte cada vez más gente se anima a hacer el Olvidado lo que supongo que creará más infraestructuras y por tanto atraerá a más peregrinos.

It depends, not this one in particular as I travelled by train, it was 10:52am by the time I started walking. On the days I sleep in my tent, I tend to wake up with the sunrise and start walking which can be very early in the summer months.
How long did this part of the route take?
42km (26 miles) in 10 hours and 53 minutes. An average speed of 3.8km/h or 2.36miles/h.
Me ha sorprendido, hay huertas, pero donde estan los altos hornos, alli estuvo mi padre mi padre lo trasladaron un año desde ensidesa de aviles, a baracaldo, yo tenia 6 años, pero volvimonos para aviles, mis padres morianse de la pena alli, asturies ye un paraiso, nunca mas volvieron a marchar de asturies
Los Altos Hornos como tal estaban en Sestao. En Barakaldo estaba el tren de bandas en caliente donde llevaban los slabs para convertirlos en bobinas. Ahora en su lugar está la Feria de Muestras de Bilbao (Bilbao Exhibition Centre).
@@javiervagabond9524 Pero mi padre trabajo en instalaciones de altos hornos en barakaldo ,por abajo, estaba la estacion del tren de baracaldo, y alli tenia unos pabellones muy grandes, creo que se llamaba lasesarre o algo asi, por que viviamos en unos pisos antiguos en la plaza de la estacion y desde la ventana veiamos las naves de altos hornos, mi padre cruzaba la calle y ya estaba en el trabajo, te hablo del año 1974, saludos
@@pelayooviedo8676 ah vale, esa es otra zona. De eso ya no queda nada solo el Edificio Ilgner que ahora es un vivero de empresas. Puedes ver otro vídeo que tengo titulado Tour of Barakaldo, en el que hay imágenes de esa zona.

I know Marek, from his TH-cam channel, but our paths have never crossed so far. I'm sure they will at some point.

Hi Javier. Looks a nice day to do this route. Seems like there are lots of route markers. Was it easy to navigate? A well deserved meal at the end too! Looks nice.
38km (24 miles). It took me 9 hours and 48 minutes. I'm not a fast walker and I was carrying a heavy rucksack including a tent. Regarding markers and navigation, I rely on the OS Map and the Gaia app so I don't usually have problems with navigation.
