Thank you
I can’t do to many things and I’m going into 4 weeks since surgery. I walk around a lot I also go up and down stairs. But I still get a lot of pain
Love the bow tie and suspenders. ❤😊
Had this 4 yrs ago and I wish I never done it.. it hurts so bad to eat and just had a bowel obstruction and it’s the worse pain ever.. oh I’m now on feeding tube… don’t do it please dont
12 days po stomach cramp all night is that normal on full liquid diet
My Belly Is big again, and I have been eating small portions and eating healthy and the same. Gradually I started to eat some carbs but not often. And When I was just eat yogurt My body went from Buddy Love to Sherman Klump. EVERYWHERE is expanding NOW, I can even feel my face growing a double chin!!! ( Nutty Professor)
Before the surgery I had severe hunger and being hungry the whole time and having no satiety, during a healthy meal plan the hunger where even more severe because the appropriate portions weren’t enough for me and while being severely hungry feeling starvation I was always waiting for the next meal and the meals never made me feel full. I had to eat big amounts of food to feel full and had satiety for longer, even healthy food but the calorie intake was higher of what i needed even I always went to the gym as nowadays it didn’t help much with weight management and also PMS made my hunger even worst literally starving even more severe and was even harder. I finally had vertical sleeve gastrectomy and during the PMS I use semaglutide for 10 days only. Self control and appetite control it is “normal” now unless I am on my PMS period when I have to use semaglutide 😢 I have vertical sleeve gastrectomy and what I do it’s having small meals 5 times per day and 2 light snacks, no more of 180cal each one, clean food and healthy options with low calories and I watch to be on 1200cal per day. That is how I manage to control of hunger and cravings and it is not really easy. I count the calories and the macro nutrients. And I exercise 4 to 5 times one hour and weight lifting. I am 1.60mts and 47kg
Revision from sleeve to switch scheduled for next month❤
Would love to hear about your update after everything.
Definitely will keep an update@@keshah2283
Hi Kimberly, I am choosing between sleeve and bypass, is it it tru that results of the sleeve are not sustainable and sooner or later will need another surgery...or this is a low possibility? Thanks a lot
What surgery is best for bile reflux?
Literally a life changing moment meeting him, becoming a patient and already experiencing good outcomes!
It is great to see the love for your job is still strong. Patients are so fortunate to have you!
Please give me all the cons of this surgery a doctor suggested it because I have a hiatel hernia
Whelp time to call my team. Almost 4 weeks out from gastric sleeve and I brought this was normal. If its not fluid , I'm upchucking. I stop when I feel sort of full and fell sick still with food. It takes forever with chewing and I say well, maybe just go back to fluids. Sometimes they come back up, but the chest pains have stopped.
Very informational.
So basically I’m in charge of the pouch not the other way around , if it tells me I’m hungry and I can take more , I tell it , fuck you , you’re on time out , you already had your 8oz of protein lol
any form of liquid goes directly to the small intestine and i look pregnant and are pale und ligh headed. its aweful. what can i do ? kind regards.
When is it too late??! 😮
I am down 75 lbs in 9 months since surgery. It makes me feel sad when i see others having lost 100 + lbs by month 9. I know it's not good to compare yourself to others but it's hard not to. Has anyone else seen results like this but then ended up being successful with 100+ lb weight loss? I have so much more weight to lose and nervous i won't meet my goals.
I only lost 43lb in 7 months
I am 3 months post op and only lost 15 pounds. I exercise 3 times a week and barely eat
I am so confused...I'm 68 yo female and have been obese much of much of my life( 5'4''/240lbs)....I'm an ice cream and candy eater...not a volume eater.....I'm otherwise pretty healthy...I can't figure out what is the better procedure....any thoughts?
Why no mention of the Modified DS?
😊
Should you not snack and just have 3 meals?
I'm curious what am appropriate meal size would be 6 months or more post surgery? I am 4 months post op and sometimes I can eat a bit larger meal and sometimes I can't. I can eat a bit larger meal as the day goes on. Usually in the morning I struggle to get down one egg and maybe a piece of sausage.
I'm 1 year post-op since I had Gastric Sleeve Weight Loss surgery, and I have lost roughly 80lbs. I am 5' 3" tall, and I currently weigh 138.6 lbs. I have been feeling very tired and weak and dizzy lately. I tend to seesaw quite often between feeling super hungry at times and then other times feeling hardly hungry at all, but most of the time I feel as though I eat to much so when I eat I try to remember not to eat as much. I work 9 hours a day Mon-Fri with weekends off and have to get up around 5 am each day, but because I'm always feeling so tired, even when waking up, I normally drink 1 of the 30g Cafe Latte Premier Protein Drinks that has caffeine equal to one cup of coffee in it first thing in the morning and then another one later in the day as well as 2-3 of the Peach Mango with green tea Celsius live Fit drinks that are Fizz Free during the day. I was 134lbs nearly 3 weeks ago, and I hate the fact that I have now gained 4 pounds. I have started to adjust my daily goals to not go over 855 calories per day and I am logging everything now as well but its difficult sometimes when I dont fully know what I'm doing or what foods I should be eating, so I've come to the conclusion that when in doubt the lowest amount of everything is the best way to go. Now I make sure to check the nutrition labels on everything and only buy food that has less than 200 calories per serving size, less than 10g of fat with no more than 3.5g of it being saturated fat, less than 200mg of sodium and no more than 20-25 carbs and has at least 5-10g of protein or more.......sooo yea However, I'm hoping to get some more advice on this if anyone has some tips they'd like yo share and healthy food ideas that might help.
Eat at least 1200cal per day, less that that will make you feel sick
Very thorough explanation; thank you Dr. Maynard
Thank you Dr. Maynard! Now I know that after bariatric surgery, it's important to be cautious with eating red meat. Red meat can be difficult to digest due to its high density and toughness, which might lead to discomfort or complications, especially in the early stages of recovery. It's best to introduce it slowly and in small portions, ensuring it's well-cooked and tender. Opting for lean cuts and chewing thoroughly can help make it easier on the stomach. Always follow your healthcare provider’s guidelines to ensure you're getting the right nutrients while staying safe.
wow so cool thank you i now know when it's safe to eat red meat after bariatric surgery!
Ass soon as I had my bariatric surgery I was vomiting blood I got scare because it was for a boy 2 or 3 hours 😰💔
I suggest to you for your future videos to get rid of the background music, because it is distracting.
Ok Ty, very informative. I won’t drink a ting
Hey doctor I have 8 weeks with nausea and is horrible
So I had the RNY and developed reflex with a hiatal hernia in the pouch- I was told I would never develop GERD or heartburn etc. how is that possible is it due to hernia then?
Thanks for the info 🦋👩🦰
I’m seeing stalls 5 months post op but I know why. I’m not executing my plan. And I’m definitely not doing the 1 hour of exercise. Time to kick it into gear. Thanks for the reminders!
Sorry doc u failed basic medical school, this happens because there isn't enough acid in the stomach, and u doctors make it worse by giving anti-acids ....Ihad it for years AND it went away because I did my RESEARCH, I increased by prebiotic foods intake which helped increase the stomach acid so all the other food I eat gets digested and DOESN'T NEED TO COME BACK UP....SIMPLE stuff really
I started the process my BMI is 49.9 and done research and fully understand it is a lifestyle change. In pursuit of a healthy life and mentally ready and prepared.
****This is False Information**** In the Medical Journals Database it is easy to find both, empirical and evidence-based medical data about the medicine absorption changes patients can experience after gastric bypass.
Thank you!!!
Great helpful tips ty. I struggle with the puree, mushed food as I am a crunch eater lol learning to balance !!
1 month on liquid, full liquid, pureed soft meals. 3 oz x 6 meals a day. 🫤
