these songs and elo, take me back to my childhood, a great childhood, may parents were the baby boomers, worked hard and drank hard, weekends would be parties, usually back at our house, us kids were allowed to be around for a while, then all thrown into one bed, like a sleep over, this type of music would be playing, along with others, the bee gess and so on. we as kids also had fun, all being thrown in to bed, ghost stories, plenty snacks, everytime some one went to the toilet, they would check on us, us jumping back into bed fake sleeping lol. great times, some of my best childhood memories

You should do more from their US Festival performance. They did all their best stuff and the performance is one of the best live guest sets ever. "magic power" and "lay it on the line" are 2 I would do from that show. It's great

In November of 1998 he lost his beloved wife Anna ( a well-known actress - midsummer night`s dream Shakespeare) to breast cancer and his brother Wilhelm within 5 days. Due to his huge popularity he took his 2 little children and left Germany for several years to raise them in England in a more quiet and calm environment and finished his career. Thanks to his little daughter who reminded him of the promise he gave to her and her mother to never give up singing he started working on this album " Mensch" (after 3,5 years of total abscence) in which he processed his loss and grief. In my personal view his very best album ever released. Herbert, to many people in Germany, is a living national treasure as a composer and songwriter. In addition he played one of the main characters (Lieutenant Werner, a war correspondent on the German submarine U-96 ) in the movie "Das Boot" from 1981.
