When using the kill switch to stop the engine and setting it back to on when the contact is one there will be minute sparks within the kill switch due to the high load of current all going through the copper contacts of this switch. In due time this will lead to intermittent contact failure of the kill switch making it unable to start the engine. This will happen to any bike, not specifically to BMW's. ALWAYS use the contact switch for starting and stopping the engine! The use of the kill switch is only for emergencies!

Does this work with the factory center stand? I notice you have it installed on your bike too. Please let me know if it affected anything with the centerstand, rubber stopper or spring. Pretty sure a lot of us would love to see a video of that showing close up detail of an aftermarket exhaust that functions with the center stand.

I just had a similar problem 2014. Starter in neutral would turn but not engage. I tried several times. I don't know that this has anything to do with it but unlocked my bags and all with the switch then it fired right up. Very strange !

Good aportation. Just for Europe units: - Left screw on left side of motorcicle, accesible by removing external air snorkel (1 torx 25) on left side. This one control heigh of all light (low and high beam). - Central screw, more or less at center of backside of head light (tool needed: open key of 13mm). It controls lateral angle, just for little tunning of lateral angle beam.

Does this setting work on all K1600 built since 2012?

They are manual adjustment,but there is a left & right adjustment on the computer switch gear .l think it might mess things up a bit .playing with it.

You need to close the sides standard! DDDDDDDDD

If you don't have audio it won't work and if you have a 2012 it won't work .tried many ways only works on newer machines.

I've had a 2013 K1600GTL for 3 years now, and I have this same problem, periodically. it's the spragg clutch not engaging, not the starter or the switch, and rocking the bike in gear may seem to help, but has no effect on it. It will start working eventually, when it wants to, not due to how I try to make it engage. Mine comes and goes, as it pleases, Problems happened at about 5,000 miles on the odometer, then no problem for almost 2 years, and recently it's back. Took 23 tries for it to engage once, and it happens since then about 75% of startups. but usually only 3 to 10 tries to start it. I'm out of warranty since it had 3,002 miles on it in 2016 when I got it. I just tap the start button as briefly as possible each time, which seems to help. partly because it takes less time between tries. LOVE this bike though. :) this time it started happening during winter, cold weather. I'm imagining cold thicker grease or oil keeping it engaging. Don't really know though.

Let me say great exhaust. Can I ask you one question. Can you tell me the diameter of the mufflers.. Where the mufflers are connected to the link pipe. I have the akrapovick system, but for me the sound is disappointing. So I would like to buy those mufflers and connect them to the akrapovick link pipes. Hope you can help me out.

Did it simulate a stable ride at 140? Was there much left?

I love the sound of this exhaust. This is the one I wanted for my 2016 ZX14r SE until I found the coffmans shorty exhaust really well made and in my opinion sounds even better than this. This looks great on your bike.

I had a 2012 with this exhaust. I lucked up and found on Craig's list for $700. Had Guhls to flash the ECU with Brock's map. It was a friggen handful!! Loved it! Amazing how much lighter it felt.

Can't find this option on my 2012 K1600GTL. Was there a model year change that allows this?

very nice exhaust. Is it possible to make a video with a flyby and pulling away from the camera? I would like to hear the exhaust when the bike really is driving. I want also this exhaust for my bike, but over here in the Netherlands is very difficult to buy this systemen. therefor I have to order er it at Brocks. That's wy I would like to hear it when the bike is moving. I really would appreciate it. take care.
