You channeled your inner “Kat-sidebar” in a very you style. I need to channel my inner “Kristine” when it comes to fashion girls. I haven’t used one in a while and somehow you make using two of them in the same spread so effortless. Ugh, 5Guys burgers are so good. I don’t know what it is about their burgers, but anytime we really need a good burgers and fries, 5Guys it is. And you had lobster rolls. You guys were eating good this week. I feel you on the alcohol inks. I think that little bit of color elevates the spread so much. Especially with how so many of us are doing the tilted boxes now. I think that little bit of color makes those little “scenes” feel fuller and complete.

Love this. I’m getting a sterling ink common planner in a5. I like that it is very neutral with no colors on the weekend and blank pages.

This turned out so pretty. Since this deco kit is 16 pages do you think it would be enough deco to use in a hobonichi a5 for the monthly, weekly and dailies just using a few stickers on each page like your setup? I was thinking that I could pick one decorative kit for each month and use it the whole month in an a5 bound planner.

That “Fireflies” kit is such a good transition between August and September. For me, August gives me a nighttime vibe but the florals in that kit are very September. Butterflies are a type of insect (or bug as most people call them) due to the scientific specs. I think butterflies are kind of like bows in the planner world. Like a standard type of deco that doesn’t get attached to any season. Bees and dragonflies are kinda like spring/summer, but butterflies are seen in kits almost all year round. I totally get what you mean by Chelsea’s ink swatches. I was just using hers recently and they have so much dimension in them because of the different color intensity around the edges. “Forest Cottage” is so pretty!!!!! When I saw that kit, I knew that you would need it.

I bought TWO of Chelsea's (Dash of Sun) Halloween kit. That's how awesome it is.😮 I also picked up some of the fall kits. I'm so broke.😂

I like how you used those torn papers in your columns. I was struggling on what I could do with them, but you used them so well. I love how your tilted boxes in your sidebar area turned out. The florals look so seamless from one box to the other. I had to go back and see how you constructed it so I can make note of it. That was a jam packed weekend! I think it's always so cool to go into other hobbies to listen to people talk passionately about how much they love something even if you don't necessarily get it, like the car guys. And two parties? How did you do it?

They might as well just transfer my paycheck to the sticker shops too. The fall art is so stunning. Dude, I’m bad at measurements too! >.<. Don’t ask me to gauge any amount of distance. I can’t. I think I still stand by my decision for that Navy floral kit for the fall. You can’t change my mind. I’m the same when I know that there are mistakes in my planner! That’s all I can pay attention to even of everything else is so phenomenal. Those kiss cut strawberries are just amazing!! It must have been hard. The strawberries are the width of the box, right? How are we even friends if you don’t like purple? 😉I kid, I kid. That Harriet Wright designs spread is one of my favorites that you’ve done. I love how much you’ve experimented in this quarter. I love your Tranquil Picnic spread, staircase and all. You got the hard part, right. Most people butcher my last name (the Pham part). And karaoke is in your blood if you’re Asian. I don’t sing well, but I can put on the show for karaoke. Don’t take me out to karaoke if you don’t want to be embarrassed.

I was reviewing my own footage and noticed that I tend to tap on my planner when I'm thinking and I'm aware that the camera is still rolling. I see that you do that too. lol. I love your center double sidebar. And using the non-foiled script is so perfect for keeping the structure in your spread and letting it breathe at the top. Spoiler warming: I see that we both went with unfoiled date covers for this week. That's so funny. Excited to see the rest of your strawberry spreads.

Almost twins. I will be using the “Carnival” kit the following week in September. So close. Love the line up. It definitely gives me August vibes. The Oceanside kit makes me think of sunsets and since August is like the last real month of summer, it’s so fitting. I love the story that you have going on. Deep in the ocean with the mermaids, then up closer to the surface and moving with the sea, on to a beach picnic and spending time on land, and then joining the crowds at the carnival. A+ story telling. Yeah, pink is planner neutral for sure. It goes with so many planner things (icons, headers, washi, pens). I wouldn’t say that pink is my favorite color, but it’s definitely something that I pull into my spreads.

Binging haul videos during this paperwork purgatory. I always wonder how Alicia names her kits. They have such interesting names.

Also, I really admire that you’re doing this as a talk through because my brain would not have been able to keep up. Other comments: - I didn’t even think about mangos. Have you ever tried EverCrisp apples? They’re sweet like honeycrisp, but they are firm and crunchy. - Lol at finding the favorite food a difficult question. I had so much trouble with picking a single one too. - “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” is definitely a summer song. That half-time show is so iconic. - I ran out of time to talk about more planner shops. But miss+meow is definitely my second favorite. Thus why her kits have been in like most of my months so far. Your sidebar is so simple and pretty! I love the subtle tilt on that bottom box. And the layering of the florals on the alcohol swatch. I love thunderstorms, especially to fall asleep to. But I get how the loud thunder would make falling asleep be difficult. But the rain sounds always make me sleepy. This turned out so pretty! I love how you layered everything. I think I need to do a simple spread soon.

I struggle with doing tilted boxes with more than two boxes and every time I've tried I've had that same issue that it looks like a staircase or a bunch of blocks. The best you can do is just live with it...at least that's what I tell myself too. Actually now that I see the whole spread in one shot, it looks a lot less like a staircase. I think maybe it's because if you see the full boxes without the deco, you can totally see it. But I get what you're saying. I need to learn to layer my florals over my boxes like you. I always default to cutting them on the edge of the column, but I'm itching to try something different. Also McDonalds is my comfort fast food craving. I believe that I marked that I got it on the Wednesday of this week too!

Glad to see that the tech issues didn't delay you anymore. Pho is my go to comfort food. It always makes me feel warm inside. Pho and boba tea are the best combination. I so strongly associate purples with silver, but this spread looks so good in gold!!! The lace really elevates the spread and having it in all of your columns really pulls it all together! I need to get some foiled lace, but I'm intimidated by how strong it is.

It’s such a struggle sometimes when the journal kit has such good deco but you want to use all of the full boxes. I love how you used that foiled window in your sidebar. And the girl looking at the bridge I so good. Using foil everywhere? Wait till you see the next plan with me. I finished the spread and thought “maybe I overdid it. But I don’t think you overdid it at all. I would have done the same for that tilted box you have in the bottom right there. I think maybe doing a double tilted box by the one in your sidebar might have been a good compromise. Thought for next time. And did you intentionally not put in weekly scripts? Or did I just miss them? I haven’t tried a no bottom washi spread yet, but I think this looks so good! I have on my list to try this year a no bottom washi spread.

What is a memory planner? Is it in the past week or just like other planner? Its planning for the future?

Seeing people be put together is all an illusion. I've said that to other planners amd they've told me the same thing. Sounds like buying sticker and using stickers might be two different hobbies. I have the same problem too! Such a pretty spread! I really like how you used the smaller deco pieces and layered them.

I didn’t pick up this miss+meow weekly kit, but I did use the deco kit for a strawberry spread that I just did in June. These florals were so pretty!!!! I’m so excited to see how you use the weekly kit. I love how packed Paper Trail Plans kits are. Those decos for the Planning Choco is so perfect. That Graceful Muse Paperie kit is such a good transition into August. Something about the fashion people make me think of late summer. There were so many good strawberry kits this year! First it was the daisy clip art that was everywhere in like April. And every time you show the Tranquil Picnic kit, it makes me want to buy it. I don’t really know where I would put it in my line-up, which is why I haven’t bought it. But if it’s still around at like Black Friday, I might have to pick it up.

I have this same kit and it gives me Fall vibes. I love watching you put down the base.

I write comments as I'm listening to the video because if I don't write it down, I forget what I wanted to say at the beginning of the video. I think my favorite part of watching any plan with me is watching the base laydown of the base. I also love hearing people's thought process and what they like or don't like about what they did. Makes me feel like we're all fighting the perfectionist in us together. Thank you, thank you, thank you for the shout out. I am so honored to be shouted out! I love the look of how you have the boxes across the center. I have thought of trying that format, but I have a brain block when I sit down to do it. I think I just gotta commit. And I've been having a little bit of trouble trying to figure out how to use those smaller polaroid boxes, but I love how you layered them. And your foil accents are gorgeous. Just enough foil to make a spread pop. I feel like sometimes I go a little overboard. Yay to not working!!! I feel you on that one. I don't know about up in Canada, but our Michaels doesn't really carry anymore planner things anymore.

In your August Hobo Cousin PWM would it be possible for you to show how chunky the planner is when it's closed? I'm planning to get a Sterling Ink planner for 2025 and I will use it like you are with very minimal deco and mostly pen. I'm trying to decide if I want a full year or if I should get the 1/2 years planner. It will depend on how chunky it would be after half a year of use.

This spread turned out so pretty. I love how the gold complements this whole kit. And the way you used the gold foil accents is so subtle and classy? Timeless? Its just a good looking spread is what im trying to say. I liked seeing how you layered behind your circles. I know that you don't like doing voiceovers but I really love watching your layering process. Please be careful with your arm. Yay for progress though.
