My crazy boat life. Watch me buy and sell and sail and just muck about with sailboats......and love almost every minute of it! Its raw and unedited and about as unpretentious as it gets!
first sail of a popular boat
first sail if my noelex 22. the wind picked up a bit shortly after this and I was very impressed with the speed. feeling very chuffed with the boat all round actually.....

I motor around cape Rodney on route to Mangawhai heads 18/3/24. About five minutes after this video the wind picked up to about 20 knots with bigger gusts and I had a hell of a sail(A bit intense at times) the rest of the way. I made it safely. I am also glad it's done now!
I am sailing a new boat i just brought 60k up the coast in windy conditions.

jason the nolex 22 has striking similarities of the bonito Aquarius . different but very close design..love it. cheers
good information
👍👍❤
Another enjoyable episode Jason, in your travels have you heard of any moorings that are up for rent around Scot’s landing area ? we are needing one for six to twelve months suitable for a ten metre yacht with a 1.5 draft such a beautiful spot.
I have one but it is rented. Your best bet would be to watch trademe and the Auckland harbour masters web site. But also there is a notice board at the new world supermarket in Warkworth. It's free to out a notice on it and there's often moorings for sale or for Rent or wanted there...I think that could bear good fruit.
Many thanks Jason, thanks for your help
Great to see you enjoying the boat. A couple of suggestions, cooker runs on methylated spirits. The rudder has a red pull-down line and a green pull-up line. I think it would help if you put some super glue on the red line where it pulls around the front of the rudder blade. Keep it in the groove. And you might slacken the bolt clamping the blade to the post. Hope that helps. Bruce
thank u. Will do. yeah ended up having a great sail on it yesterday. really fun. We have done a couple of trip to go for a swim too....thanks for tips.
good on ya mate! What a great tidy boat
Jason , do the Air Sea resce a fgavor, the yacht on a trailer, and retire from sailing. Doug Ringholt Yarrawonga Victoria Australia
Hi, I've clocked up well over a thousand days sailing on different boats, maybe two or three thousand by now and never had to get help form anyone. Pity I didn't buy a Noelex 22 earlier though cos they are really cool. Hey, do you always criticize people and give unsolicited negativity. Pity. The world seems to have enough of people doing that sort of thing these days. Couldn't you put your time to a better use.....
Why bother putting your name and where your from? Pretty asshole comment, at least he gets off his arse and enjoys life.
@@mycrazyboatlife Not really. What you deam unsolicited negativity, others may consider constructive critisim.I base my critisim on tens of thousands of ocean racing in Australia ( seven Sydney Hobarts. ) and overseas. My advice to Jason may save a life. Perhaps I could have advised him better, by suggesting he has some sailing lessonsr and or joins a yacht club. I that more to your liking ? Doug.
Oh shit. with all that experience I bet you can tell exactly who should be on the water and who shouldn't. I will heed your advice and never sail again. Thank you for taking the time to put me straight. I was a lost sheep and you have shown me the light. Please continue to spread your message throughout the land and help other people toward the light. Doug you are a saint. Thank you. Please send me your address and details and I and all my family will send you gifts of thanks. You have saved me from a watery grave. (Nah....sorry...I love sailing. It doesn't belong to rich wankers who think they know everything. It is for everyone that wants to do it) The sea takes who it wants to. Experience helps. So does luck, but neither ever really make it completely safe. I'll take my chances and live my life thanks.
@@mycrazyboatlife What you see as " unsolicited negativity" some might see as constructive crticisim If you dont like my comments, dont post a reply. Doug.
Jason, you really need to catch up with CoastGuard old for new lifejackets. That, whatever it is you’re wearing is……😮
"I think I've found my boat guys" Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha...Jason, you're a total crack-up!
Another awesome video Jason. The Noelex 22 is iconic. The outboard well looks like a great feature too 👍😃
Water water everywhere - but not a drop to drink !
Jason more problems to take on, nice spot tho build a heli pad for your mates....
Inspirational 😊
What an awesome spot. If you don't get that one you'll find another.👍😃
nice spot! will you be able to get a mooring in school house bay? that spot is chocka
offer not accepted.....
@mycrazyboatlife just build a house boat the same as you were thinking but floating, and stash in the mangroves up the end!
Neighbours on either side? Sorry not for me.
hey champ have you still got the Herreshoff?
Hi Jason, I was interested in the raven 26 but am out of the country for another two weeks. I'd be keen to buy her if you're still selling then.
Enjoy your philosophy and agree that material things become easier to part with as life progresses. Best wishes from Canada for all your projects.
Hi Jason. That's another lovely little boat that will make someone very happy. Hey thanks for the shout out as well. This lifestyle is amazing 😁

Do you have the trailer still mate
sorry no
Looks like a good project for someone. I would love to take it on but no time sadly.
I KNOW u are not a fan of diesels, but isn't it better than an outboard hanging off the back ? I really like the Beachcomber design, but didn't buy one because the Honda was just too heavy, let alone start and control, on the transom. Not to mention raise & lower . MERRY CHRISTMAS TO OUR DOING IT JASON MATE .
Nice little vessel. Enjoy mate 👍 Greetings from Spain 🇪🇸
Happy days Jason.
Looks good and tidy Jason 👍
Awesome Jason. What a sweet boat!
Nice little boat.. Never seen one in Australia.
Coolest boat in the history of the world 😂👍 any updates on Aurora Jason wish I could own this vessel.
you can own it. 500 and its yours!
Thanks for this video. I find it fascinating that we can look on a map and have the entire area laid out but when you're on the water it is actually a lot different as each landmark gradually comes into view. Cheers Jason, this is awesome! 👍😃
How are you planning to get beds up to the rooms through the small hatch? 🤔
I have a machine that can dismantle any object in one location at the subatomic level then reassemble it in another location. Don't you have one too? I suppose you live in the south island. I know the tech is a little behind the times down there. Lol. Actually, it's a good question. I guess beds that can be dismantled. Not necessarily to the sub atomic level though.....
tiny house? that looks like a mini mansion to me!
Aroura moorialis. Go Jase
speaking of "piraty" have you seen the corinalious (sorry spelling probably wrong) it's dried out on legs in little shoal bay)
Your enthusiasm is a great gift to be blessed with. Good luck with all your projects.
What a honey.. double enders are so sweet 😊
Pretty sure you can't buy a mooring in Brisbane. You can buy the tackle but the mooring position gets surrendered back to MSQ after change of ownership of the vessel. Pretty sure that's how it works.
This is Auckland, New Zealand not Brisbane, Australia.
I've admired that boat! very cute! never mind the engine what condition are the sails in? I also like it's bigger sister in that bay, Voyager. There are quite a few forms to transfer a mooring so you might want to check that you really do have it. I brought a mooring a few years ago and had to get it upgraded before they would approve the transfer, shouldn't be a problem if it's the same boat though, surely
yeah i have always thought Auroa is a stunner. Mooring was transferred to me a few days ago. Hey what are you up to? Are you free and want to do a couple of weeks work sorting Aurora out?
I bought this boat because of this video, and it has changed my life. Thank you Jason, your videos inspired me and literally gave me the strength to survive. Keep your videos coming!
Great little pad man, love from the UK x
Great design and good on you Jason for being such a survivor in life.
Well done looking good mate
Top shelf Jason!
