12 hectares landscaped park, right in the city centre of la Bourboule, France!
This English-style park was created in 1874, on the left bank of the Dordogne, on the site of the former "Pré du Merle". It is situated to the west by the Vendeix stream. The park was named Parc Fenestre, after the name of the hamlet that overlooks this plot to the east.
It is a landscaped and fun park with many shrub species and a perennial garden of nearly 250 different varieties. The four sequoias near the main entrance, which are the giants of the park, were planted at that time. They reach around 45 meters in height and 10 m in diameter.
It is considered one of the oldest botanical parks in France.
In this park, kids will find definitely enjoy the playgrounds, a little train, a mini golf course, legendary swings, the Tyrolean, slides with 3 tracks, rides, the Guignols theater and the meadow which lends itself to pony rides. Some games are free and others are paid.
The older ones, on the other hand, can stroll and recharge their batteries around the pools and the Japanese garden. Diversity is not only in the vegetation, which is why the technical services have installed insect hotels, nest boxes and beehives. You can rent a bike to explore or go hike too!
